Especially hot tip on coming out of cover to reveal a shot: reversing the video clip so we don't get that focus change! would never have thought of that. Thanks
I'm considering getting the DJI Pocket 2 for Christmas and this is the first of your videos I've seen. I've watched a bunch of video tutorials in the past few years on various products, but I have to say yours is the BEST video tutorial I've seen on anything. A bit of humour, you get to the point quickly and explain things absolutely perfectly. What a breath of fresh air.
Hello!!! I'm so glad that you liked my video, and I really appreciate your kind and detailed feedback. I hope you enjoy the Pocket 2 when you get it, and if you have questions I'll try to help if I know the answer. Take care
OMG, the first 30 seconds was hilarious! I'm going to watch this one about ten times. Pausing, slow-mo, etc. The little tip for picking up a scene "out of cover" was very helpful. I noticed it with the scene in the park, being framed by the tree before you even talked about it. But it didn't dawn on me that you could be focused on the scene, cut into the tree (which will probably be blurry), then reverse it when editing. Great tip! So even though I don't have a Pocket 2, this was a great and helpful video! And you know what... I think your on-camera presence has gotten really good lately. I'm going to go back and watch some of your Mavic videos from about six months ago and compare them. :-)
Lol too late to say nooo, not that Mavic video lol. Yeah I think I feel more comfortable in front of the lens the more I do it. And I had that Intro in my head for a while, this Pocket 2 is a camera but I had a good time the first times turning it on. Thanks Matt. For real!!
We just purchased our very own Dji Pocket 2 camera to start our journey with our youtube channel. Got the creator kit set and watched your videos and tips on how to use this powerful yet compact camera and it has helped us a lot! Thank you so much for all the tips ! God bless and keep safe! Keep making such great videos sir!
Otto, Thank you for your Pocket 2 tips and tricks and also your Tutorials, very easy to follow and understand, starting to use my pocket 2 more and learn all its features. Andrew, in Scotland.
Just bought my pocket 2 and your videos have been a great jumpstart into getting familiar with the camera. Thanks for keeping everything simple and direct.
Thanks Otto. I just purchased the Pocket 2 for an upcoming trip to Spain, and I've devoured your Pocket 2 content from setup recommendations to this great advice on B-Roll techniques. I've really enjoyed learning about this DJI product from your creative efforts. Thanks again!!
Thanks Otto, just got my Pocket 2 and it a challenge for me using it. It’s so small! But that’s what I like about. Liked your trick adopt putting the sequence in reverse, never thought of that. 👍
but be careful with people moving backwards ;-) also you could first put on single focus in the menu, focus the main shot and then start from the cover and shoot, right?!
Another very informative video. I like the way you explain things without talking so fast that it makes the video useless as many others do.Thanks again.
Your videos are really very helpful👍🏼 Thanks for all these tips and tricks, they help a lot to make my videos more interesting. Subscribed your channel to learn more😎
I love this little camera. It is a bit tricky to use at first but once you get the hang of it, it is amazingly powerful. A couple of things I don’t like though: 1) You can’t adjust the brightness of the screen. Forget being able to see anything on the screen in full sun, unusable. 2) The little 3 legged screw-on stand that comes with it is very handy but they should make it so it clicks in place when fully extended so the legs don’t move in all directions as soon as you try to adjust anything. 3) I wish the tracking could work in 4K.
hi there. yeah it is still a nice little camera after so many years. Tracking does work in 4K, it just doesn't work at 4K 60fps, you need to lower the frame rate
Thank you! I want to start making travel vlogs and am searching for a camera that is small yet practical, easy to use yet can capture awesome footage. A lot of RU-vidrs presented the Pocket 2 but I sometimes find that they go too quickly, making it hard for a not very tech-savvy beginner to follow. You, on the other hand, were very clear in your explanation, even pointing out some issues that might occur 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. I hope you have other videos like this that teach beginners how to make awesome travel videos. I will certainly watch all of them!
Hello Corrine, sorry for the late reply! There are more videos like this one on my channel, but I think you already watched my new Pocket 3 review videos. Are you going to buy the P3 or are you sticking with the Pocket 2? I will have similar videos to this one for the Pocket 3 in a few weeks.
@@OttoJulian_ Hi Otto! I managed to get the Pocket 3 Creator Combo on the 2nd day of the launch, just in time for my vacation which is happening now. I can record videos and photos with most settings on auto. That should do for the time being ☺️. Thanks for the follow up 🌺
Hey. Beautiful video. I have a question: I have a recipe for taking a photo of a main street while walking. How do I get smooth movement and no jumps? Thanks
Yes, Otto is amazing! I've learned a lot from him by dissecting his videos to see how he works in text effects and b-roll, etc. And the product reviews and tutorials are awesome as well. :-)
@@SavageFlies hey Matt!! Still working out in learning more as well. I feel that I'm improving every month with different things. Thanks for all the constant support !!
@@OttoJulian_ Oh, you definitely are! But also, I just watched your Mavic video from August and it is still pretty good. You seem much more comfortable on camera now, but that wasn't bad either. You're still going to hit 100k way ahead of schedule. :-)
Wonderfull. What a breath of fresh air to learn so great tips on actually how to shoot instead of the hundreds of reviews that just go over the same technical aspects of the Pocket 2. Well Done. Would love to see a video on how you record and process your adio. It stands out as being pristien.
@@OttoJulian_ Hey Otto. I guess that my comment was not specific. I was referring to the audio of your dialogue. Maybe it is just your voice, pace and clear diction, but I find the audio of you channel so easy to listen to. Wondering how you record, process and mix your channel. It is definitely a cut above. Thanks for your hard within planning and producing your videos. I have dragged by Pocket 2 out of the drawer and it will be my primary tool for a trip to Baoshan Ancient Rock Village in China tomorrow You motivated me!
@@fletcherbrown728 oh man! Thank you so much for your detailed comment. I actually don't use any kind of external recorder, but I use an external microphone and tweak the sound a bit on the video editor. Nothing else, must be the way I talk. Anyway, the Pocket 2 is excellent, I always have it with me even if I'm using or testing another device. Good luck on your trip, hope you get lots of nice videos! Enjoy!
Great video, Otto. Thanks so much for sharing. I can’t wait to put these into practice when I get my Pocket 2 tomorrow. Subbed for sure. Excellent content.
@@OttoJulian_ I’m sure I will. I’ve been a creator in the stills scene for 20+ years but video is new to me. I’m excited to put tech like this to the test. Your videos are inspiring.
I just bought the Asthma pocket. How do you edit? And this is my first time using a gimbal, I know I'm late to the game, but I'm so psyched! Thank you!!
Osmo/ not asthma. Sorry, I spoke this message. :>/ Have you discovered any new tidbits for the Pocket 2 that you care to share? Thank you for your gifts!
Hi Otto. What video editing software do you use? I'm using RUSH for my channel.. it's basic stuff but easy to use and edit videos. Any advice you can give please??
Hello! Now fortunately things are better and hopefully for a beautiful summer. I came across your channel by chance and found it very interesting. Your explanations are very understandable and comprehensive! It's okay for me if you speak slowly (; D) and have subscribed to your channel. Thanks for the appreciation of my country, I hope you will return to Italy to give you other beautiful days. Thank you. My best regards
@@calipso13io thanks! Really appreciate your feedback and opinion. Yeah Italy is beautiful, I had plans to visit again last year but because of the pandemic it was not possible.
