I wanted to answer some simple questions:
Which microphone is the best for the DJI Pocket 2? Are the onboard microphones good enough? Is the Wireless mic in the Creator Combo kit as good as the Rode Wireless Go? Should I plug a lavalier mic into the Wireless mic?
And does it make a difference whether I'm in a quiet environment or a noisy environment? Which microphone is best in each situation?
With all of these questions in mind, I decided to do a series of tests. I sketched out a plan to test seven different microphone setups in at least three different physical environments:
1. Quiet Environment Outdoors
2. Quiet Environment Indoors
3. Noisy Environment Outdoors
This video is the first in the series, in which I test a variety of microphone setups in a quiet environment outdoors. After the testing itself, I reviewed the video clips and gave a conclusion about the audio quality of each microphone plus the convenience factor of each one.
I'm not entirely sure that I gained much in the way of new information by doing this test. Each microphone performed pretty much as I expected, and the final results conformed to my expectations based on past experience. However, it was still a useful exercise, and the hope is that this video will help someone else as they struggle with their own DJI Pocket 2 learning curve.
