Thanks for the video, you covered 99% of what I wanted to know. I wish that people would show camera thermals, using the original DJI gets really uncomfortable to hold after a while.
Excellent video comparing both devices Otto. Under my personal opinion, image quality is still not comparable with the DJI pocket 2 Thank you for sharing
Excellent video, perfectly explained! Thanks... I had a chance to buy DJI Pocket 2 recently on my frequent fliers gift shop but if I could not buy this as such I would have bought the Feiyu Pocket 2
I'm a little greedy I want a combination of both of these cameras (maybe that will be the DJI Pocket 3?) The sensor, stabilisation and video quality of the DJI & the small but useful software features like the super wide, wide, narrow view selector, the in-built wifi and the option to use it as a Webcam from the FEIYU😂 Right now I am a bit hesitant to buy the DJI Pocket 2 now (I watched your videos on it and I love this lil camera!) since it is going to be 1 year old in 2 months so the chances of Pocket 3 coming soon are there and there are more features I need in this camera since I will be using it as a do-it-all camera and the other quality/processing power related things to be not there.
@@OttoJulian_ excellent video, I currently have a GoPro 9 but I'm shopping for a better low light blogging camera, I think DJI pocket 2 takes the cake. Do you think a pocjet 3 might come out in November? isn't too soon?
Seeing the side by side here made me happy that I made the right decision in getting the DJI Pocket 1 (not 2). Even the 1st pocket was doing better in most scenarios shown here at a lower cost.
Thanks for the comparison. I suspect that the Feiyu is priced higher because a lot of people will be attracted to the larger screen (not realizing that it is not as sensitive)
I think it's also a matter of being a new product and I think it's got a few tricks under their sleeve. The price is ok, but when you look at the competition then it doesn't feel so good and you start to wonder why they priced it so similar.
I went with the DJI a while back. This camera is a hoot. I use it allot for my House of Worship Chorus and Orchestra rehearsals where my big 4K Pro camera is silly and eats up room fast. Much bigger and heavier too. But all cameras have a purpose in their life. I also recommend if you can shoot in manual mode and get exposure and so on correct. Automatic isn't always right. I use the iPhone 12 pro max as my controller monitor, and it works well. I think we are in an age where Smartphones rule, but these tiny gimbal cameras are great for street or impromptu video/stills where a smartphone may draw too much attention. Also it travels great. I bought a battery extension as battery life is pretty poor, but it is of course really small so the battery is too. This has to be the most fun and productive camera I have ever bought next to my Panasonic AG-UX90. I want to keep using it because it is so much fun, and so handy. I have bought too many cameras in the past, but this one is really one of my favorites. Was going to get an action camera instead. Glad I didn't. I still may get an action camera, but this one just does so much. Yes, low light is awful, but you know that going in of course. Great camera for the older kids or young adults wanting to video or capture images on the go. I could see my parents getting me one of these as my first camera. Would be awesome.
hi Vincent! very nice in-depth comment about the Pocket 2, and yeah, I feel the same way. I originally bought it just to make a few videos on the channel and I thought I would sell it after that, but I soon realized about the potential and advantages of keeping it. Thanks for watching
I use Dji Osmo Pocket 2 Thanks to you sir Otto, you helped me a lot with my first vlog ❤️ I want to improve my vlogging skills and I want to learn more from you 🙏🏼🎊
Thanks for the comparison. Here's the scenario for my gimbal camera needs: recording bowling league/tournaments that typically last between 2-3 hours at a time. The bowling centers usually have a table behind the ball return where I can set up a tripod. However, bowlers usually sit a few feet behind that while they wait their turn. I would like the option to either film continuously or record separate clips. Ideally I'd like to do this with my phone. Would the Feiyu be a better option since it has built-in WiFi? I'd also want to livestream from the camera to RU-vid or Facebook and was wondering if it's possible with either the DJI (with the Do-It-All handle) or the Feiyu's built-in WiFi.
The Feiyu will not do so well indoors with artificial light and I would prefer the video quality of the DJI pocket 2. Streaming with the DJI P2 is not too easy, so if that's a priority then Feiyu might be your go-to. I would also consider using a good smartphone with a smartphone gimbal to be honest
@@OttoJulian_ thanks for your input. I use my iPhone to track my scores as I bowl, but I might find an older iPhone that I can track my scores and use my primary one to take video.
I think the original Feiyutech pocket had image quality that was unusably bad and even stablization that was really bad for what was supposed to be a gimbal camera. The Feiyutech 2 is actually worth considering in these regards and it doesn't feel like cheap crap anymore. However the price discount is less drastic this time, i picked up the dji pocket 2 on discount for the advertised price of the price of the feiyu one
The original Feiyu was an entry level camera that I feel it's ok for beginners and not for more advanced users demanding higher quality. As you said, their new version has major improvements but they do need to make a difference in their price if they want to compete with the DJI counterpart. Hope you enjoy your Pocket 2! It is a great camera !
Like #13 but...for now I stick with my DJI Pocket 2. I totally agree with you for the statement "if you have to buy a pocket camera" probably the Feiyu is a good choice. But all those are my personal thoughts
Hi. Thanks for the video. Are you sure the DJI Pocket 2 can't be used as a webcam. There are other videos showing it being set up for Zoom meetings so it can be used as a webcam. It would have been good to mention that the DJI can also be used with an Android phone. I'll be researching to see if the Feiyu is the same.
Hi! You are welcome!! Pocket 2 according to DJI can't be setup "straight from the box" as a Webcam, I have tried many ways that have been described on the internet with mediocre results. I didn't mention android or iPhone, but yeah they both work with them, but you don't need a phone to fully take advantage of the pocket camera features.
I have a question. I have a feiyu pocket 2 i dont know how to download the videos and photos to smartphone.i tried but always failed..i hope you can help me..
you need the feiyu app to do that, on the playback button there is an option to download. Otherwise, you can transfer the files to your PC and then to your phone, or to the phone directly with a card reader
I have a Go 2 as well as Pocket 2. I think the Go 2 an excellent POV action camera, but for any serious videography I would always use the Pocket 2. The image quality is better on the Pocket 2
May I ask, the USBC adapter that you have mentioned for the external mic on feiyu pocket, do I need to buy it from their website or any USBC adapter would be fine??
hi Mathias, the camera and the app will work if you flip the Feiyu upside down. Which cable system do you have? (Wiral LITE?)
2 года назад
@@OttoJulian_ Yes, Wiral LITE. I was just about to buy the DJI Osmo Pocket 2, but then I read that when you have it up side down, then the controllers in the app doesn't change. So if you whant to pan down you haveto pan up in the app etc. Read in the DJI help forum that this has been an issue for long now, and is still an issue/bug. There for I'm looking for a similar cam as dji omo pocket 2 that would work as it should upside down.
Yeah I understand. Have you used the Wiral yet with any other camera? Would like some kind of feedback on that device
2 года назад
@@OttoJulian_ only 3-4 times with my Nikon Z6, but It's on the verge of being too heavy. The line sinks a lot because it is so heavy. Did I understood correctly with FEIYU, is it possible to have up and down and the app works as it should when it is up and down?
well, you can share how you do it for everyone else, cause even DJI have said that it can't be done straight out of the box, and all I'm doing is sharing my experience with it, which btw it's focused on the Pocket 2 standard version, which when you connect to the PC it only allows file transfer (TL DR, I'm not wrong)
I am very disappointed with the price. It should be the same price as the DJI Pocket 1. I can see the Pocket 2S costing this much because it has a detachable head.
@@dicdicd1767 My english is far from perfect, but I always thought that "aluminium" was the way it is pronounced in the UK. grammarist.com/spelling/aluminium-aluminum/ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ocbLM4y4jug.html
If dji would stop playing cheap games (no onboard Wi-Fi and dinky little display) it sure would be nice. I like the picture quality of the dji pocket 2 best but the Feiyu-Tech Pocket 2 is a MUCH better bang for the buck even at a higher price.
@@OttoJulian_ Thanks for reviewing these cameras. It helped me to make a decision not to waste money on old or cheap stuff and wait for DJI Pocket 3 with 1" sensor.
yes haha, most people don't know if DJI was originally a Chinese product, under Shenzhen DJI company. Even Moza Gimbal was also a Chinese product, Gudsen Moza Shenzhen
