It takes A LOT of work to make these videos. if you find them helpful, make sure to hit that like and subscribe button and drop a comment below! Its the best way to support the work I do here and is much appreciated! And FREE!
The problem : "Dear Thank you for contacting DJI Technical Support. We are grateful to assist you with your concern. Regarding your situation, we are sorry to inform you the main camere battery cannot buy singlely, we recommend you to buy the battery handle to help yo solve this issue. This could also help you solve the battery life issue." So you trow away the Pocket 3 in 2 years maximum when battery no longer charges.
If one can live with the 20mm FOV, the difference between the Pocket 3 and the Sony is only of academic interest. The Sony plus lens plus gimbal is around 2 kg. The Pocket 3 is less than 200 grams. Easy choice.
Fully agree. Simplicity is bliss 🙏. It’ll be next camera besides my current insta360 and iphone 11. In fact, I was thinking to buy iphone 15 pro max but watching the dji low light performance, the die is cast😅
@@MVREMD1If the differences fade away with compression then that's even more of a reason to like the Pocket. If you're just gonna make RU-vid videos then you don't need a professional camera.
*WOW im impressed how close the video quality is to the Sony in a compact size. I just came back from my Asia trip and brought the Sony a7iv. When I was in my trip I didn’t even use the Sony as it was too big and heavy to bring along. I wish the pocket 3 came out early. Will definitely get ride of my other Sony cameras to buy this.*
Good video. I wanted a Pocket 2 in the past but that small screen was just too small for me. Bought the Pocket 3 locally right away when it was announced. That larger screen is so much nicer to use. And the rotating screen is a nice choice by DJI. So my four favorite things about it are the larger screen, larger sensor, gimbal performance and still pocketable. And it's SO easy to taking along with you.
Great video Stefan. Thanks for taking the time to produce and put this video up for all of us. The Pocket 3 is undeniably the easiest camera to take on a trip or even for local walkabouts. The 1" sensor makes all of the difference in the world. I have the Pocket 2 also and really like it, notwithstanding the small screen. It still served me well for 3 years. Now it's taking a back seat to the Pocket 3. Thanks again for your efforts in getting this video to us. SemperFiGuy - Largo, FL USA
I am a big user of the Pocket series. Can't afford to get the 3 yet, so use the 1 and 2. I still like the 1 because of the longer focal length. The ultra-wide focal length is the biggest limitation of the 2. Going wide is often wanted, but going longer is needed just as often. The 26mm equivalent on the 1 is a nice compromise for my liking.
Afyer 3 generations, DJI has pulled a good device together in this format. The sensor... I was going to say "size bump" -but this is an order of magnitude bump" - and getting wireless integrated without "doodle handles" 😂 and getting tracking right... ahhh its good when stuff works. Thanks for taking a few cycles off and getting it (mostly) right DJI!
I like the size comparison at 40sec, just shows you how tiny the pocket 2 screen really is, the pocket 3 screen looks massive compared to the old one. nice video.
Nice! When analyzing iso performance I think it is helpful to show the results in 100% crop. Im watching at my phone so it is hard to see the difference
My goodness. All these reviews were getting on my nerves. Everyone using the pocket for outdoor shoot. Even a 300 dollar phone will perform well in the light. I so badly wanted a studio test and you started your video with that. Perfect. In case you have the Sony ZV1, I think you could compare the two, in studio lights ZV1 is what I use to shoot all my videos
That Sony Full Frame Camera in the hands of amateurs or not qualify hands its going to be horrible, the OP3 is a professional tool in the right hands, lets keep it real
Great review. Question: I just bought a go pro hero 12 and I love it. My first GoPro. I was considering getting a gimbal for it, but the pocket 2 can be had now for about twice the price of the gimbal. Any thoughts on whether you think the pocket 2 is worth it in 2024? It’s under $300 now and readily available. I’m mostly going to use it alongside my hero 12, but for lower light conditions. I know the pocket three has great low light capability, but it looks like the pocket two is no slouch in low light. I would love your thoughts. Do you think it’s worth it in 2024 since it’s under $300 now?
Still totally capable! Its actually quite a bit smaller that the Pocket 3 if size is an issues for you. I happen to have one with all the bells and whistles + filters, etc I'd let go to an awesome subscriber for a deal if shipping isn't too bad. Shoot me an email if interested. 😎
Great video - Question - for purpose of creating cinematic video, how would you compare the ability for pocket3 to create dramatic bokeh effect compared with the high end or professional camera?
I think it gives a basic standard for comparisons. I was often told that when you go into a hifi store (remember those?) to buy a pair of loudspeakers, first spend some time listening to the most expensive pair in the shop. Then listen to the ones you, and your wallet, are actually interested in. That way you have a point of reference for your ears, and you've also got the full attention of the salesperson, who might think it's the most expensive ones you are thinking of buying...
Great video! Question, since this Pokcet 3 has low light function, how does it performs when for example shooting real estate videos when a house, room, etc is quite dark? I'm just starting up shooting real estate videos and I'm using DJI Osmo 5 with my iPhone but when a room has low light there is noise and don't like how it looks in post. So do you think Pocket 3 will do the job when I have low light issues with my iPhone? Thanks in advance!!
Thanks. Plz, could you compare color accuracy between the pocket 3 and the Sony. Additionally, it's color coverage would be an interesting fact to know. In terms of Adobe Rgb, DCI-P3, and BT.2020. Thanks.
I'm thinking of buying pocket 3 for concert videography and having it track the performer, anyone using it like that? To track other people in a flashing lights+lowlight environment?
Thanks for this review. Would you consider it for use inside a studio teaching in front of a digital whiteboard? If so, what would be a way to get hdmi out? Thank you!
I'm curious as to whether you have any idea about what that dedicated night mode modifies. Is it just running an internal log conversion pipeline or playing with shutter and iso a bit?
DJI have said that they don't intend to make one, as it would need too much glass to be light enough for the gimbal motors. As far as I am aware, there are no long lenses available for any of the 5 gimbal cameras I own. Gulp.
Set the frame rate and shutter speed According to light refresh rate, in Europe the electricity is 50hz, so make the frame rate at 25 to have no flicker.
Still a crap image, not really better than the iphone, so why bother? I'd rather use Sony zv-e10. And it's fixed aperture, so you have to resort to stupid ISO.
Huge Dji scandal is about to come: A defect batch of Dji P3 for the customers in Europe. As I see, No problems with the P3 for the customers in usa,but we here are again pretty much fucked. Discrimination on steroids ! Thank you dji👎👎👎 Today I returned my pocket 3 back ! Overheating problems. I tried to do a 4K 60fps HDR video and my camera stopped working after less than 15min.! UNEXEPTABLE Dji ! Totally UNEXEPTABLE 👎👎👎
Returned mine too. I made my own test, put it on the desk and filmed my TV in 4K60 with no gimbal move at all. Room temperature was 21.5 grad celsius and recording stopped after 32 minutes. What if I'd like to film in Vegas and really make use of the gimbal as well while walking? Will it overheat in 15 or20 minutes? I am a huge Pocket fan but this is not worable at all. :(
Fixed (according to users on the DJI forums) with a firmware update. But EU users have a problem with overheating with many cameras because the EU requires the camera to not go above a surprisingly low temperature, compared to non-EU countries.
@@POVwithRC Compared to an aps-c. Yes. But, they're very nice toys. Personally I don't have a use for them. If I want something better than an action cam I'll go with the smallest cheapest aps-c and a small cheap gimbal.
@@himangshumahanta5398 Not compared to the cheapest aps-c. Even the ZV1 with its also 1" sensor is much better with its Leica zoom lens. Pair it with a $100 small gimbal and you actually have a real camera setup for what..._$200 more? And this "Pocket" is a heck of a lot bigger than an action cam. And try throwing it around and stuff it in your coat pocket and see how long it takes before the gimbal mechanism breaks.
@@gregghI'll have to say you are incorrect. APSC is better at certain things, but that does not make these toys. Saying they are is about as gatekeepy and illogical as me telling you your Crane M3 and ZV are toys while standing behind my FX3 and RS3 pro. Which I would not do.
