I'm pocket 2 owner, and now had upgraded to pocket 3. I can tell you the image in the bright day light is not noticeable like this video has said. But the main thing that pocket 3 win is CONVINIENT, with the large screen you can do almost everything in pocket 3 without needed phone attached! pocket 3 also have wifi included in the device! You don't need to attach do it all handle or wifi module like in pocket 2. Also pocket 3 support portrait mode! Is very very useful for create content in Instagram and tiktok, and tons other features that pocket 2 doesn't have. I've no regret upgrading to pocket 3, and sold my pocket 2 at half price at second hand market. For me pocket 3 is huge upgrade in functionality and convinient aspect, because in pocket 2, every control that I want to do still needed a phone to control all the function isn't that convinient and make me less interested to using the pocket 2, meanwhile pocket 3, I become less needed to attach to the phone, I can even re-watch the footage I've taken in pocket 3 because the screen is large.

This cleared up so much for me, I’m upgrading from the pocket 1 and honestly the pocket 2 looks great. Buy what you need not what you want and I need the pocket 2 and want the pocket 3 sounds like a plan ❤😊

I've been using the pocket 2 creator combo for a while now and even started a new channel with it. Your comparison was spot on as I was considering upgrading but realised if I'm shooting mainly in bright conditions the P2 has all I need. Thanks for confirming my decision with this video!

Thanks for the feedback and glad you found it helpful! I think you’ve made a good decision. Cash is king and if you don’t really need the upgrade, it is best in the bank (or in an index fund, I would suggest!)

Face tracking can be set to hold you anywhere in the frame, not just the centre. Low light mode can be bettered by using manual settings if you prefer. Anyway, a good summary of the differences. I will get the Pocket 3 soon. Even though I can't really afford it at the moment. But I will keep my Pocket 2, and the 1, and the Fimi Palm 1, and 2. Wait a minute - 5 gimbal cameras??!

Yes, you are 100% right! You can, but I feel for vlogging, and this is a very personal opinion, it works best to just hold it and not use tracking. My view. Yes, you can get very good low light with manual at 800ISO max, but I have found that to be the case if there is some environmental light. Like neon lights street lamps and light from window shops in streets. In extreme low light the low light mode gives better images. The footage you saw in the video was in super low light, like very low light. I tried manual sticking to Clog and the low light mode was the better, by far, when it came to grade it (to my surprise). You got a multicam set up!! 👍👍👌

If you film mostly in day time and in bright environments, image quality wonlt be that different. It is in everything else the P3 has improved on, but if image quality is what you are after, stick to the P2!

I love the pocket cameras and the P3 is now permanently in my camera bag. As a matter of fact I am filming with it a behind the scenes on Sunday and I will make a video about it. It is that good in my opinion…

Just curious have you tried filming in the "square" aspect ratio. I would love for someone to report on the resolution and quality of this because no one ever uses it and because of the 1" sensor size it could be the most flexible since you can chose your final aspect ratio and composition in post, including vertical.

Been using Sony mirrorless (ZV-E1, FX3, A7Siii, A7iv) camera in vlogging, & I find them bulky and heavy. You need space to set up with gimbal and microphone and miss those important moments. But with this tiny camera, everything is within your palm. No need to set up. You can shoot even in a tighter space like inside the car, like anytime you can take this camera out in your bag, the real definition of run and gun shoot. I'll definitely get this one and looking forward to its iteration.

I kept buying, then returning the Pocket 2. Why? More than anything else, the need to snap on the Doodle Handle as I call it. And the cap, and the Tripod base, and the phone mount, and the Pocket 1 Dial controller. I loved the concept. Hated the implementation. I literally had to build the camera every time i wanted to do something with it. Pocket 3 has a tripod base and extended battery, true. But you can swap easier, and you don't need a crow bar or the tripod to lever off the dsmn things! 😮 Ultimately? I completely disagree with you on image quality. Not sure how you edit, but raw camera footage? Night. And. Day. SO much more dynamic range, and the sensor is phenomenal. My thoughts. Thanks Samuel!

I have one sony zv e10 and a crane m3 but since it is so bulky and difficult to use i am looking for a secondary camera with an acceptable low light footage which is atleast better than any phone so that i can use it as my go to camera (i have a phone and a gimball but the phone lags or hangs sometimes so i am looking forward to selling the gimball for phone) for quick shots or travelling. My question here is that i have already spent a hefty amount on sony zv e10 and crane m3, so my budget is limited then should i go for the pocket 2 creator combo which is at around 415 dollars here or exceed my budget and get the pocket 3 standard combo which is around 720 dollars or should i stick with phone and gimball which is quite inconveninet for me? Your suggetion would be helpful to me. Thank you

I 100% agree!! In bright daylight conditions. When you go into low light, or when light starts to dim, that is when you start to notice the difference in sensor size...

Thank you for that response. I currently own a mini 3 drone. And want to pay it off with jobs. Next thing I want to invest in is a camera and gimbal. I was going to get the osmo 6 mobile for $149 but after your video review I decided not to. Also my iPhone is the XR. It’s dated and is low on space. My last real estate shoot I did handheld with my phone I just moved very slow and took a lot of takes.

I agree! The screen is actually great because you can actually see what it is that you’re doing. And it is very bright too! At first, when I saw leaked photos I thought they had messed it up, but when you actually get your hands on it you realise how clever design it is. And the switch from horizontal to vertical is simply put, amazing.

Great comparison between the two. I already own the Pocket 2 but still holding back before buying the Pocket 3 due to over heating, hopefully this is not true but not seen enough evidence on the 3 yet. Great advice and many thanks for sharing the info
