Did you ever notice the sky gets clearer after each lap? It's really cloudy on the first lap, but by the last one the sky is blue and you can see snowy mountaintops in the distance.
I’ve been looking for this for hours but I knew it was from Mario Kart. I’ve been playing almost every Mario Kart song for the past 4 hours and now my soul can rest.
@@Quisshy Mario Kart 8 is calling... I mean, have you heard Dolphin Shoals and Big Blue? Some of the best songs in gaming history right there. Wii is still spectacular though, 8 is better in my opinion though

I can't describe what it is about Wii era music, but it just has this nostalgic sound too it. Idk if it's just because I grew up with it, but something about it just screams nostalgia
It's really the combination of all the songs feeling very full and well-mixed. As well as the distinctness with its instrument choices. Mario Kart 8 feels too Jazzy all around the board for my taste, but Wii's OST had some super great synths and bass in its tracklist.
The synths in it aren't trying to be "realistic" and are instead playing to their strengths as midi instruments. Honestly I'd love a comeback in less realistic midi instruments
Honestly this is underrated. I love the swing with the melody and the layed out notes after so. It feels satisfying and catchy and makes you almost bounce like the notes do. Love the sound of it, sounds nostalgic too.
MarioKart soundtracks are always very jazz fusion-influenced and I love it. I wish a real jazz fusion band would perform the older track songs that weren't live recorded like the MarioKart 8 ones were.
The design of this course is really clever. The course is completely entirely downhill, with a cannon acting like a ski lift. One of my favorite parts of looking back on great games is realizing the genius in their designs.
One-two-three-four! It's just a snowy-sounding theme! Easily a highlight in this album. It's optimistic and adventurous, with some other lingering sense that I can't put my finger on. Why did Donkey Kong have snow tracks for two games, and then never again? Was this foreshadowing Tropical Freeze?
@@Dragonlover-kz7mk The Wii in general was when Nintendo Peaked. Wii Sports, Wii Fit, Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Twilight Princess, the list goes on...
The only peak wii games were Galaxy 1, Skyward Sword, Xenoblade, Wii Sports Resort, and Twilight Princess. Everything else is overrated (this song is still a banger tho). Honestly, I think Nintendo has never been higher than right now.

If I could go back for just one day. If only I could go back to the days where all I had to worry about was beating my dad at mariokart and beating the next smurfs 2 boss. I had it all and it’s gone, but at least I have the memories, the nostalgia of playing angry birds on my kindle, my childhood dog, the wii and all it’s glory. It was the best.
