Composed and performed by Andrew DeLange Download all Recreator music (plus originals! )here: ajdelange.bandcamp.com Original music from Donkey Kong Country by the great Eveline Fischer 1994
I've heard remixes of Aquatic Ambience, Mine Cart Madness, the Boss, the Final Boss and even the Bonus Room themes. Only heard 2 remixes of Ice Cave Chant. Yours was the second. This is awesome.
There's a serious imbalance in the amount of love for DKC's tunes. I swear each new DKC song on OverClocked Remix is Aquatic Ambiance. What about great compositions such as Northern Hemispheres, Tree Top Rock, and Cave Dweller Concert? And, well, Ice Cave Chant. The same situation can be said for DKC2. DKC3 has a lack of love across the entire soundtrack.
When next Christmas finally comes, I would definitely enjoy putting on this soundtrack. I think this does a nice job at staying faithful to the original’s core melody while providing its own fun spin on it. So far, both this and your aquatic ambience have further brightened my day.
This is absolutely fantastic! Eveline Fischer did such a great job on the level songs she was in charge of, but this remix really makes it shine with a modern quality.
damn, i think the most worthy thing for a musican must be to touch the heart of the audience .... dude u made it =) good job =) ... memories... when your a small child .. waking up in the winter morning ... looking through window and its snowing =) that reminds me so har =)
I just found these and watched all videos from your channel. Amazing! Your arrangements are professional status and I hope that all my old favs from SNES/Sega/GBA get remade and that you make their soundtracks! Thank you so much for spending the time to make beautiful music like this!
These last days, my RU-vid autoplay feature seems to be buggy - it keeps replaying two related songs indefinitely. So, it keeps replaying this one with your cover of Aquatic Ambiance. These two actually loop pretty nicely and seamlessly! I'm glad I found your channel. Your covers are very relaxing to listen while working.
How I would have improved this is more traditional, and it takes a few steps. First note, though, is that you DO NOT need to add sleigh bells to every single last thing in existence which even so much as hints at the existence of low temperatures. It is so blatantly over-used that I wonder if it's simply a result of human psychological engineering. As for improving the overall composition; I would have introduced the second half of the piece in a series of diverse string and brass pieces that build off of each other in complimentary progression, with even the possibility of some accentuating percussive items like a crash symbol and hefty bass drum splashing about here and there. Perhaps even a rhythmic snare to indicate the rush of cold wind. Lastly, I would have changed the main melody of the piece to something like a marimba so that each note carries more individual weight and doesn't get overwhelmed by the accompanying background layers. With innumerous variations of so many great pieces of original video game tracks, it can be difficult to create something that really stands out from the rest. Perhaps in my critique of your work here, I've missed what was essentially your goal in demonstrating how you personally experienced the original track. I would, still, encourage you to at the very least try to better accentuate the leading melody of a piece in order to call out the voice it was intended to have.
Hiru Harada This was the first VG track I arranged, so it might be lacking in a certain experimental creativity. In the whole though, I really love how it turned out. Thanks for the constructive feedback!
