DLO First Look: SwampFox TriHawk 3x Prismatic Scope

Here is a first look at SwampFox's TriHawk 3x prismatic scope.
It is an interesting design weighing in about a pound with the mount included and delivering full 10 degree FOV. For comparison, the smaller Elcan ATOS 3x has 6 deg FOV, Trijicon 3x30 ACOG has 3.7 deg FOV and Trijicon 3x24 Compact ACOG has 4.9 deg FOV.
I think this is the widest FOV 3x prismatic I have seen to date.
The huge sight picture of this scope is something to behold.

I'm glad you chose a lightweight platform for this heavy optic, as that is the situation I'm facing - I've got a Ruger LC Charger. Great to know it didn't impact handling. Thank you!!!

I spent 28 years in California. I immigrated to LA from the Soviet Union and it was definitely a major improvement. However, over the years, California started sliding into the same nonsense we originally ran away from (to a much lesser degree for now), so it was time to move on.

I have the razor, and I just purchased this 3x . At the age of 55 my eyes are starting to go and I have developed, To my surprise astigmatism . I bought a Delta Point pro About seven months ago and really haven’t done any shooting because of the shortage of ammo and I looked through it last week and there it was ,the starburst! So I took a picture with my phone and unfortunately it’s not the site it’s my eyes. So i’m over Spending a lot of money , this will do fine . Thanks for the video, enjoyed the info and point of view

Nice, looking forward to the full updated review! Picked up an Arrowhead for really great price based on your reviews. I have slight astigmatism so sold all my red dot variants. In the market for a prism or holographic for replacement.

Holographics can also give you problems if you have astigmatism. Have you had a chance to use one? It varies with the individual.

@@DarkLordOfOptics haven't used a holographic, only look through it at a store, eotech. Would you say that prisms are best for astigmatism?

That's an older generation prismatic. New ones, like the Trihawk are better.

Do you still have this optic? If so, has the verdict changed?

I sent the optic to a friend of mine. If it has a mrad reticle, I would have kept it. The verdict has not changed. I like it a lot.

The height of the Trihawk is suited well for when you wear a helmet or gas mask. Think soldiers. So if you don head gear like a gas mask I think you would find that you can still see through the Prism Scope. However, your other low mounted scopes you probably can't get low enough to see through your scope while wearing a helmet or gas mask.

That is likely very true. I do not own a gas mask though. Thinking about getting a helmet, but that requires a bit of research.

It is a good size prismatic. In use, the size was not an issue, but there are smaller options out there if it bothers you.

It is beefy, but at 16 ounces with the mount and battery, the weight is pretty reasonable.

That's a running theme for prism scopes unfortunately. They're all thicc boys. It's worth it though if you're like me and have an astigmatism.

If they jazz it up and did some relief cuts it would cost more. Looks good but function is better. At least that’s what I tell myself. I got this for $239 shipped So that helps it’s looks
