You are lucky to have your mom who allows you to have an extended stay to have a break from the road to deal with repairs/upgrades on your truck, to deal with health issues for yourself and Lefty and time to reconnect with family. From what I’ve seen on RU-vid most nomads do not have this luxury. Enjoy your break.

I made the same choice as you a year and a half ago. I sold my house, bought a 26' class C rv and I have no regrets. For me it's all about time and freedom. I now have the time do what makes me happy and the freedom to do it anywhere I choose. I loved my house, but I can't help thinking it was like a ball and chain weighting me down!

The best things in life are not things, the best things in life is experiences. No man at the end of life ever said, "I regret not spending more time at work." Your nomad life and your You Tube videos help those of us that are afraid to take a leap of faith and just live life, to live life vicariously. I absolutely love that you start your videos with Lefty "talking" and showing off.

OUPES! It’s all about trade-offs. I left my home of 35 years to move closer to my grandkids. I miss my house. I miss the wonderful library. I miss my favorite stores. BUT for NOW, I’m watching my grandkids grow. ❤️ As soon as gas prices decrease some, I’m going to test out becoming a nomad. I REALLY want to do it but think it’s wise to start testing things out in my SUV, traveling inside my state for awhile, and having a home base. The OUPES would really help me learn what the nomad life entails.

I'm a fellow Nomad, David. I get asked all the time, "what do you do all day?" I say, "what does any retired person do all day?" Lol STUFF...it takes longer to do things some time. And, it takes more energy. It's not an easy life, but I wouldn't trade it for anything else right now. 😊 Thanks for your content, honesty and the Laughs that Lefty provides🤣

Hello Friend, I am with you on this issue. I do not regret retiring and not seeing the income that I used to see. That’s all materials, stress, medical, lack of closeness from my family, on and on. With my new income, I do not crave all the stuff that I used to have. You can’t replace happiness and with a crisp clear mind. I am a new person and very much happier than I was making good income. Family, happiness, no mortgage responsibility, no credit cards debts, no stress to deal with, happy wife, and so on. Family comes first. Take care and always be safe. Retired from Pahrump Nevada

“My description of comfort has changed…” All very well said and deeply thought out. You’ve chosen a life of adventure and discovery over a life of comfort. What you’re doing is certainly not for everyone. Most of us have become complacent…we want the cushy life. We want certainty more than uncertainty. It takes courage to step so far out of your comfort zone. It seems once you’ve done that you can do anything. I love how you always say “we” ; )

David & Lefty, I'm so happy for U that U are now happy with your life style. Some people don't see it as a life style, they think that U are homeless. To many people in the world live their life based on others and what they think is right for U. I did that the first 20 or so years until I learned that only I can decided what is right for me. What makes me happy and less stressed everyday. There is not one thing wrong with playing with Lefty everyday in a beautiful place and loving it. U should be proud of yourself my friend for what U are doing makes U happy. To hell with the rest of the world and what they think. Enough rant. HA! HA! I could use that OUPES, and all it would power when I lose power here. Thanks David for sharing your life with us all. God bless U my friend and Lefty. Russ & Keira

I’m still working online and over the phone. When I get much older I kind of see myself in a tiny house away from the cities. But not yet. ❤️ The first year was absolutely the hardest for me too. Thanks for being honest about your feelings on your life now vs. your life then. While, it is nice to help people who may be thinking about doing what you did, ultimately people have to realize that everyone's situation and life styles are theirs and they have to make their decisions based on their needs and wants. You figured it out for yourself and look at where your life is now.

Thoreau used the metaphor for the usual type of life as being like a man who carries his whole house upon his back . . . one of the best measures of whether or not what you're doing is right is by judging if it comes with a sense of purpose, and a good sense of what you are to others, to yourself, and to that purpose.

Your talking about getting rid of things you don't enjoy as much as you once did has helped me realize something I have been thinking of selling; my Model A Ford pickup. I bought it in 1966 and have owned it my whole life. As I got older I used it less and less I have not worked on or driven it much in the last 7 years and with my medical condition and my age of 72. I just don't get as much kick out of it. I like to work on my Aframe camp trailer. That's where I have been for the last 3 years. I have put a Battle Born battery in it and like you said in your video; if they would have had an OUPES I never would have gone that route. They didn't make very big solar power stations when I started to work on my camp trailer. Thanks for your insight on the way you feel about change. Stay safe and look forward to more of your videos.

OUPES - The cost of your previous life was freedom. You now have more freedom to spend your time the way you want, with Lefty. I think most people don't have the courage to break the shackles of the 9-5 lifestyle. While that lifestyle buys houses, cars, electronics, nice dinners, nice clothes etc... the cost is freedom. To be quite honest, I'm seeing what I consider too many people doing what can be termed 'Nomad living'. When that kind of lifestyle gets popular in America, there is a backlash of bad actors and overused communities, that may not ruin it for everyone else, but it does take away. Nomad life only really works when everyone acts responsibly and there is enough of everything to go around. Look around and you'll find a distinct lack of 'enough to go around', don't get me started on American's responsible behavior- as a whole. So if the thought is there to do this, take it seriously and try hard to be a good citizen and steward of the land.

This is a big country, but you aren't wrong. I was out west earlier this year. Locals absolutely did not appear inviting. It seems a lot of nomads. Can't make it work in a house or an apartment. So they do it at a necessity. Some of those people have drug and alcohol problems. And they just trash the local areas.

Had beautiful homes/high end cars. Everything from outside people aspire to have. Also had a violent, alcoholic spouse. Stayed extra years to provide for 7 cats, 6 dogs-all rescues. After a gun was placed to my head, I left. I now live in my Subaru Crosstrek. By CHOICE. My pets have all passed. I had 2 on road with me that made 1st few years easier. I made CHOICE that I do not regret, to move into vehicle. Peace & safety make me the richest I’ve ever been in my long, strange life. Side note: a trusted person embezzled ALL my $$. I’d like to have an older rescue dog but have to create a larger savings first. Until then, I’m the friendly lady that squeals in delight when she sees your dog! Your discussion @18:00 is fascinating. Travel can be exhausting. Its why people come home from vacation and feel like they want to fall into bed. But there is a way to travel full time while also getting adequate "REST" time. Much of it is mental exhaustion from high levels of environmental stimulations to our sensory components. So its important that we take time along the way for "Restricted Environmental Stimulation Therapy" aka (REST). How to best get that REST varies by the individual. Thanks for giving us this information. And thanks for the OUPES opportunity.

When I bought my home, which you call a 'traping'. I bought half to a third the house my peers did so it was a fraction of the price and quickly paid off. I think too many people bought too much house so it was a burden and not a joy. I got a van conversion for play for extended weekend trips twice a month. I was able to retire early due to investing (I was a hairdresser). I rented the house and traveled in the van for almost 3 years. I'm definitely happy I kept the house. The older I get the adventure of travel became more drudgery to me. I love having plumbing, toilet, shower, washer/dryer, HVAC, full kitchen, dishwasher, etc. I still have my van for playing with and take trips still now and then, but it's a relief I've got a home base to return to for recuperation from RVing. The way the economy has gone, I wonder if anyone full time can return to a house financially. Housing has been brutally escalated in prices. Anyone thinking of taking the jump I'd suggest travel for a month or two before selling your house. Unless you are wealthy I suspect many will not be able to return to being a home owner. I chose to keep the house AND have an RV (inexpensive van).

I travel with 2 small dogs and enjoy every minute with them. Lefty is such a lucky dog. I also appreciated your presentation of the OUPES. It looks like a very nice product. Take care.

You can have a few acres, a tiny house, a shed to work on the bike and a vehicle for groceries. Investing in a 'homestead ' somewhere is never a bad thing. You can still travel in the Ambulance but when you're overwhelmed with projects to do - you have a spot to park, you can do them and bonus Lefty has squirrels to chase.

Watching your old vids vs now, clearly this new chapter of your life has improved your mental health. You used to look so unhappy and stressed out. Now you seem content and relaxed, hanging with Lefty every day. I think you made a great choice in choosing experiences over things. OUPES we’re trying again. 😊

OUPES 1800 Wowzer I would absolutely love to have this. I have a window unit ac that could help cool the trailer down at night to sleep. No solar, on top of trailer. But panels would be a next blessing for sure. Love to Lefty, he seems to be doing better.

Hi David and Lefty. A bit of the I wish I had done that....I was rigging my Caravan to go to New Mexico to bring my niece to Florida. Circumstances kept me from doing that. Now, she is there in Hospice; probably weeks from her last breath. We cannot know what lies ahead. Only our Creator knows the Path and puts choices in our way to guide us. I have regrets, however, there were unforeseen obstacles that changed our lives forever. I have to except that it was meant to be this way. Sometimes we just need to take a breath, let the Universe guide and pick up from where we are at Peace with ourselves. There were things that I had to take care of here. I was not aware that my old Caravan would have left me somewhere between here and NM. That would have been a lot of trouble for me and Jessi Beagle. I took care of that. I had no idea that my tenants on my 10 acreas was suffering from drug abuse and mental illness. I am having to take care if that. It would not have been possible for me to do what I needed to do here and be on the road. The Creator knows. My neice is in the good hands of compassionate people and she will be alright. My choices were right as painful as they have been. You are inspiring and level headed. Your voice brings compassion and common sense. Thank you for your Voice. Lefty is the Best and you are a great Dad ! Whatever you choose for you and him will be a good choice. I could use the OUPES in my tiny shed on my property for now. I have another power generator in my cart, waiting for payday 😂🤣😅. It would be nice to use that money in another fan, it is hot 🔥 😜 in Florida. Thank you David. Belly rubs all around for Lefty 🐶

Fiddling with the rig is absolutely fun when it's on your schedule but when it's an emergency repair you know then it's no fun it's like a busted pipe at home or a leaky roof at home very well said Mr. Campulance

Hi David. I am glad you answered those questions. The freedom you have is amazing. Financially it could take a toll, especially if you are on a budget and need major repairs made on the rig. Either way I think you made the right choice. Life is short, enjoy it instead of working it away. OUPES would come in handy for when I buy my rig.💕💕

Life is better with a companion dog (or cat)! Being on the road certainly has its ups and downs but with an OUPES the stress of running out of power will be greatly reduced. Lefty is such a handsome boy

Life is about choices. If we never take a risk. we miss out on so many opportunities. Thanks for sharing your story. I bought a 24 year old RV. Way before solar and off grid camping in an RV. Winning the OUPES would enable me to run my cpap, lights and basic electronics until I can afford a solar system. The OUPES will be an excellent adjunct to the solar system on cloudy days.

Hi Dave and Lefty! I think another way of looking at the stress and tiredness you have now is that it's a more of a "chosen" stress not stress that a job and corporate life is which is stress that is put on you and not chosen. I call that a bad stress. Anyways - just my thoughts. Have a Great day you two. And Oupes is the word! Would love to win that. Thanks for another great video. Ciao!
