quick question. Is there a difference when zeroing, if you are below the line of sight of the target vs in-line with the target vs above the line of sight of the target? (prone, bench rest and tripod).
Would be nice to see eye pro utilized tho. I see a few channels recently dropping this critical PPE and there is no reason for it. Particularly when new shooters are looking to guntubers for how to shoot safely. Flame on for the safety sally…
New to robs world. At 63 and 45 plus years of hunting shooting and gun buying I decide to buy a AK 47found rob looking at some reviews. Unbelievable passion and knowledge. Thank you sir. It looks like i have 7 plus years of videos to catch up on. 😂😂😂
I have had to whip out the AK Boot Camp book at the range to refer to info, and show others what they needed to know. Also, I have been told by Rob Ski in videos, and others friends at the range, that bad groups can be frustrating, and attributed to cheap ammo. So It helps to try different ammo, name brands. Cool post Rob Ski, my regards sir.
I have had good results with the PPU mil-spec M67 7.62x39. Full power, consistent and reloadable (the newly manufactured stuff, not the Berdan primed stuff from the 90's and earlier)
At about 7:00, you spoke about your breathing. Something that I teach my students is what I call "sleep breathing." It's absolutely relaxed and allows the muscles to gently squeeze the trigger.
in ROTC they taught us to breath half out then fire in between heartbeats. well my resting heart rate is 83 bpm or so, and with range noise I can barely hear myself think (even with good ear protection) haha. i like this breathe out and HOLD method because it removes chest movement, and if i fire when my heart beat causes a slight movement well then ill miss by 6.001 cm instead of my usual 6.000 haha. i like robs method!
I discover your youtube channel, and really it’s a gold mine for me who just bought me an Arsenal and put a foot in the AK universe. Salute from France
@@ChuckMothaEfenNorris Makarov's 9x18 Soviet era and they shoot. We have enough ammo for years actually we are still shooting Soviet era ammunition. Bro is Cuba, the Russians Hawaii 🫡
You still the man Rob, all these years later still passing out , The real Spill on AK rifles and Weapon Systems, Cant say over time ive come to love AK less, just more and more, except instead 545 ak74, my main and favorite to now shoot is , AK74 in 556!! For so many years i got shit about bastard child this , yeah look at me now! Haha much love fellow AK. Bros! Telint you if you not fired 556 ak , is so similiar to 545 , id say neglible from shooters perspective, even using 74 mgs too just using 3d printed 556 follower, literally amazingly no jams or hiccups in thousands of rounds of 556 even using circle ten 45 round 74 mag, tula plums , pure blacks true blacks rather , bakes , any 545 mag using 556 follower anyways , for my 556 aks (bukgarian SA-M5 and Polish Mini Beryl , again have surprisingly been absolutely flawless!
You’re the best, Rob! My AK Bootcamp book just came in and it’s awesome. The data is priceless. Every single page is extremely useful!!! Thanks for everything!!!
That target completely took me back to BASIC training. We had M16A1 s. One good fundamental of BRM is the penny drill, where while in a firing position you learn how to dry fire the weapon without the penny on the end of the muzzle device falling off. Really teaches you how to correctly pull and not jerk the trigger.
2:11 "classic setup" is right, don't see too many Type 2 AK's with slab mags any more. You don't need that old thing Rob, just send it to me and I'll take it off your hands.
Love you, huge balls and great information. Best channel and guy for AK platform for new guys or older AK lovers. And a great place for AR guys to understand what a real rifle is.
Robski !!! Thank you again, great video...I have a problem. I am 70 years old with a bad hip....When I drop something, I look at it real hard and say to myself, Do I really need that ??? If I go to a prone position, I might not be able to get back up. Any ideas on what position for me, without making myself a great target?
Kung fu - The term is made up of two characters: the first, Kung (功), can mean skillful work, hard training, or endeavor. The second, Fu (夫), means time spent. Together they mean time spent at skillful work, endeavor or hard training.
I always recommend starting on the 25m line. Necessary if you are regulating a new rifle or optic, useful to confirm zero at the beginning of any range session.
Great info as always, Rob! I might be getting ahead of your flow but with a 25yd zero, what distance downrange does the 7.62 again hit point of aim/point of impact?
Even though you are pulling rifle into shoulder, you should put some forward pressure and load the bipod. Yes you want to control firearm, but the less you squeeze your grip the better. Try it, it's how we shoot past 1,000. With our bolt guns
Mr.Rob...did you rattle can your OSS? If yes, does it get hot enough that you could peel the paint? Did you cerakote??? Hope all is well. I appreciate all the knowledge you have given me thru the years!!! Appreciate you more than you know. Take care
It's a great way to teach yourself what a leveled rifle feels like. Even with open sights.....at a glance you can see if the horizontal target line splits the front sight ring in half and matches the rear sight horizontal plane. Rob is a great teacher......stressing that you follow the fundamentals until it is a natural mindless reaction. 11:34
What would you recommend for a high quality milled Ak around 1500 maybe 2k at most. Im looking at the traditional akm not the ace or other Ak inspired rifles. Also I want the most accurate budget ak rifle. Thanks love your channel.
I know this is off topic, but I have mobility issues and cannot lie down prone. My concern is not having a bad group due to shooting from a standing position, my concern is having a bad group *because each shot will not be from exact same "setup" position* - rifle level slightly different, grip, shoulder, cheek, anything can change when youre standing instead of prone. Do you have any advice or not really as this is designed for someone with a stable setup to create good habits?
Hey Buddy, can you please explain Nato stock Vs Warsaw length and the angle between milled and stamped! How come a milled has a more angled stock than stamped?
