Yes, you ARE trying to sell something; you are attempting to "sell" some common sense! Unfortunately, there are not enough customers for it these days. :-)
As a 20yr Infantryman I appreciate you pointing out to folks if they're building up their toy or tool! For US our weapon is a tool to get the job done! I run my saiga with an M68 red dot(because I used one in Afghanistan), cheese grater upper for heat ventilation, ctrela flash suppressor, krebs multifunction saftey and a side mounted surfire. Wood furniture for a bit of '80s and a sling mounted the 10th MTN way for simple quiet use. I have 4 deployments which taught me to be more practical tactical than anything! Strip shit down to the minimum you need to get the job done the best way you can. Less things to malfunction, snag on things, reqire batteries and maintenance, cleaning and training... Stop the Barbie gun bullshit guys.
I wake up. Its 6:00 AM. I just finished the best sponge Bob dream I have ever had. I am aware that Rob is already in forest. There is no time to loose.
In the end this doesn't really matter. If you're worried about big brother then don't. Government budgets mean that most of their people own better stuff than you anyway, and they also don't need online pictures in order to find out what you own.
You guys bring up good points, but probably don't post your kit alongside any "spicy" opinions. Or maybe I'm just a pussy. Just my opinion. You do you, kings
Robski always bustin balls and tellin it like it is!! Been watching your channel since the beginning and you never disappoint. Would love to see the akou live streams again🇺🇸🇺🇸
As a young man (just turned 21 in October) I’m getting into firearms and bought zpap m70 and this is exactly what I needed when everything in my age group is about social media
Thanks ,again, Rob and company for teaching the basics in a consistent and understandable way. Extra thanks for getting into the specifics. I had been shooting AK's for 20 years before I found this channel. I've learned as much or more from watching you folks, and look forward to continuing that education. Keep 'em coming!
@@ghostwriter1415 Thank you. Apparently, however, RU-vid let me have it; due to capitalization and separation I suppose. if I'd have known about the other ones I'd have picked something else.
I appreciate your absolute no-BS videos. All those so-called "experts" on RU-vid with zero training and experience accomplish nothing but getting people to buy equipment they don't need and giving them a false sense of thinking they are prepared for a real world situation because of their equipment and doing a few drills. Thank you for standing out from most of the rest.
You sir, are amazing! With a can your AK you will be glowing like a Christmas tree in the Muslim neighborhood. Already respected Rob, but everything he says makes me respect him even more.
I'm 22 years old and I bought my first gun(with my own hard earned money, i got an ak47 and you are helping my dumb naive mind grow. Thank you for sharing your knowledge sir.
I love it when you say “ enough with the bullshit talk “ you should make tee shirts and hats with that on them! I would buy both ! Of corse with a picture of AK !
I have always preached to my friends; never set up a kit with one mission in mind. Set up your kit with a mission set in mind. You need to think about everything from distro, to patrolling, to prolonged engagements and observation missions. You also need to work within your weapon system’s capabilities. Think about every facet and plan around that
I really liked you mentioning the use of IR night vision at night that those who are there to harm you will see it. NV is coming more and more important for self defense and people need to train more in it's use, as well their chosen firearm!
Thanks, Rob...for your insight and experience borne wisdom. We all have to know what we are capable of, both physically and financially, and prepare accordingly. Since I will probably never be able to afford NODs or thermal, I think I'll just focus on home defense. All the best to you and the family, Sir. May we all come unscathed through the hell they are preparing for us...
Melvin, as much as I hate to say this, because of how this kind of hardware become popular, it means that you will be non combatant at night. Now, this is not the end of the world, there are ways to mitigate this, but there are serious limitations attached to the reality of the situation too...
@@AkOperatorsUnion Hey I'm from Southern Missouri also. 417 area. I'm having trouble finding a good range. Any ideas about good rangers the allow steel case to be used?
@AK Operators Union, Local 47-74 I really appreciate all of the info you've brought to the AK community, but the unfortunate truth is that the vast majority of Americans can't afford a $4,000 PVS14 night vision set up. If you have time to make a video or even a blog post about the ways to mitigate this like you mentioned that would be very helpful for alot of people. Thank you for your time.
To just expand on what rob said: Suppressor- i have a flow through, it does have its disadvantages but it does not seem to add a lot of blowback. If you do get a suppressor, for the love of God, get titanium if its available, its worth the extra few hundred. If you run an ultimak with a suppressor that thing gets HOT. Make sure you are not using any cheap mounts. Optic/mount: i use a PA 3x prism (full size) on a rs reg side mount. The other option is the attero (I believe thats what its called) mount that replaces the rear sight leaf. If you don't have a side folding stock, the rs is where its at, I've removed and put that thing back on my ak too many times to count and its still got the same 0. But you do loose the ability to fold your ak in the traditional way (the best way). Stock: i have mine set up with buffer and CTR... ngl I wish I would have just used the money I sunk into all the parts $250+ and just put it toward the titanium suppressor. I agree its nice for the adjustability but I'm not entirely convinced its worth it. Also, I despise the wiggle that comes with an AR style stock. The CTR does a pretty good job of mitigating it, but its still there
Thanks for the discussing all those points. I will start with a lot of stuff. I want to start with very little or maybe even nothing just to see what's good for me.
I shoot AKs in competition and from my experience all I needed was an optic and literally nothing else (M90NP). One more change was a magwell and thumb mag release which really sped up reloads on my KR-9.
Dudes are mostly moving away from IR laser devices too. Passive aiming through the NVG setting on your optic is probably the way, much cheaper route too.
The best upgrade you can make to your rifle is MORE AMMO. Nothing will make you a better shooter, especially with your own rifle, than more time behind the trigger, taking intentional shots applying your training every shot.
I don't know how you do not have a million subs! I bought my first AK after watching your videos...then i Tacticooled it out. Watched more videos and saw the error of my ways and the perfection in simplicity. Love the no Bullshit. You are my go to for all thing AK. TAHNK YOU!!
The first thing you need to do to set up your AK is to move the rear sling swivel to near the rear of the receiver as was done on the original AK-47 and changed on the AKM and following versions including AK-74. Those are fine for marching with your rifle slung over your shoulder though it would be a lot more convenient to reverse it and carry it with the butt high. If you don't plan on marching on your opponents, a bad idea discovered by the British in the Revolutionary war you want to hang it around your neck like a necklace and it's easier to do that with the sling swivel at the rear of the receiver. Then it's easier to grab with your right hand and swing it on opponents. You can fire immediately one-handed if they are that close or grab the forend or raise it to your shoulder, much more easily done with the sling secured in the proper place.
I've trained with my AK s. With no optics since the days of the first Polytech rifles. None were available none had mounts. Lol!!! I've tried optics they are nice. I'm a minimalist person. Rugged prisms work best for me. Even if battery fails I'm still up!! Love your videos like this!
Rob. Awesome video. Cutting thru bullshit like a hot knife through butter. I love Southern Missouri and the Ozarks... my great grandpa built a church there but was from Tn..
I bought the Fighter Brake and the BHO (yes, I use ProMags) for my WASR-10. The difference between the Fighter Break and the factory slant is very night and day; less felt recoil, better barrel management, and it helps with the follow-up shots. The BHO (bolt hold openers) works flawlessly, it makes my reloads easier and I have not forgotten to charge the gun before firing again.
thanks Rob love the show about to get another zastava ak because of you great work. Keep your powder dry and your eye on the target. God bless and Semper Fidelis from Arizona
All I run on my rifles are a flashlight, a foregrip of some type (usually a stubby or angled), an optic, and I always replace the muzzle brake with a flash hider.
@@TheMCD1989 It depends what I'm using it for. For a fighting or hunting rifle I'd put a sling on it. For something like a home defense gun or a truck gun I wouldn't.
Yeah man don't do that. Straight up buy a zastava m70. Mine is beyond solid and more accurate than my Arsenal sam7. They sell for around $1,000. I got the all black version and it is very soft recoiling.
Awesome video. Lots of people have taken dirt naps from stock AK's. Always better to keep it simple unless you know what you are doing with the gear for real.
VERY SOUND ADVICE ROB!! The only things I changed about my AK was changing out the slick plastic shit that came on it to the MagPul furniture and rear stock. Made the weapon much easier to command and gave better weld with greater comfort for the cheek bone when firing. Other than that, I keep it simple. AK has for me only one function, and it don't include bein sneaky. If I want sneaky in the night, my AR shorty with the red dot, suppressor, and green light is just fine. It does have a laser, but that's for fast engagement without need to aim up close. great video sir, keep em coming!!
Mine is as basic as it gets. I added plum polymer furniture (cuz I like how it looks), a Manticore brake, and a flashlight with gas tube clamp mount. Everything else is completely stock because I really don't feel the need to have anything else.
Subscribed. The old school vernacular used to describe individuals using IR lights on the rifle without night vision is what got me to click. I like the content. I want to airsoft larp to learn more about night vision.
I just bought a zpap m70 and still fairly new to firearms. Thank you for the information on ak setup. Im glad I’ve made the correct decision on my build so far.
Hi Rob I can't tell you how much I appreciate your channel and your knowledge I love to hear you talk about the things and your the knowledge and the skill set that you have not blowing smoke up your butt but there's about three or four guys in this world if I could meet sit down and talk to him for a couple hours just to pick their brains you are one of them your true legend thank you for the video please keep up the good work
I like to modify my stuff be it a pickup truck or a rifle, however I will drive it /shoot it, as is before making changes and I heavily research mods before applying them to my particular project. Just because something is a fad or popular doesn't mean you need it.
Rob I looked on your AK store and was disappointed to see you didn’t have any ‘’ common sense “ for sale to help the instagram ninja’s to “cut the bullsh**”with . Keep up the good work brother and stay in the woods. God Bless you this holiday season. Looking forward to hearing from you in the up coming New Year.
