💡 Amazon PPC Long-Tail Keyword Strategy -
If you’re struggling to lower your ACoS, download these 3 reports to discover more profitable long-tail keywords:
1️⃣ Search Query Performance: This report shows you the top search terms that led customers to your products. Make sure to download this report from the ASIN View instead of the Brand View.
2️⃣ Advertising Search Term Report: This report shows you the top search terms that led paid customers to your products. Do this for your Sponsored Products, Brands, and Display campaigns.
Now with these 2 reports opened in either Google Sheets or Excel, you want to combine them together to create one big master list. From here you can plug in the following formula to get a word count for all of your keywords:
=IF(cell no=""," ",COUNTA(SPLIT(cell no," ")))
*Make sure to replace “cell no” at the front and back of the above formula with your specific cell number.
Now you can filter for cells that contain more than 4 words to find your long tail keywords.
And lastly, the third and final report you should download…
3️⃣ Competitor Reverse-ASIN Search: This report shows you the top search terms that customers use to purchase your competitors' products. We used the following filters in Keyword Scout, but feel free to customize to your liking:
Word Count: 4 min
Search Volume: 100 min
Organic ASINs Count: 2 min
Organic ASINs Rank: 50 max
Category: Pet Supplies (select your own category)
As shown in the beginning of the video, long tail keywords are typically less competitive, more profitable, and easier to rank for. But unfortunately, a lot of brands only have a small list of these keywords which is why we recommend downloading these 3 reports on a monthly basis. That way you’re always uncovering new long tail keywords that can be funneled into your manual-targeting campaigns for greater control and spending power.
