Thanks for reviewing these types of movies without the same negative bias that most mainstream reviews have toward any Christian themed film.

since your a movie reviewer i like how you reviewed it, and i have the same problems too about their movies. i usually dont like christian films because they are bad story wise and theologically wise as well. by the way im a christian so i agree with you, that we shuld do our best to not come in with a major bias. i am curious do you know if there are any movie reviewers who review the theology of christian movies? like they judge the christian doctrine in the movie? im curious cause i nver see that all to often and avoid most christian movies all together because the underlining theology is terrible at worst or kindergarten at best.

I honestly love how this guy reviewed this movie with a somewhat neutral view. A view like his is actually pretty rare to find and most reviews I find are athiests that just point out the Christianity as being the negative parts. Now I may or may not agree with what he said, but I like how he was neutral. Also, I think that in the end, all people can say is of you're Christian, you'll like this movie. if you're not, you won't. It's like agreeing to disagree.

I felt like I didn't really care about the characters. The movie didn't make me feel like I wanted to care and it didn't do a good job on letting me know who the characters were that well. The religious messages are in your face, like saying "Hey, believe in Jesus! Believe in him!" One character has literally no common sense. He is about to lose his house and everything but sticks to God. Like you said it's also cheesy and sometimes it seemed as though some of the cast were too dramatic, as if they over acted. The separate timelines thing they did was not handled very well and how most of them got in one spot was also not done well. This movie was pretty bad. The only good thing is Lily.

I am a Christian and I wasn't even considering watchig this because I did noy like God's Not Dead at all, that ending was stupid. But I'll take your word for it and consider checking it out!

Pablo Zuniga Hopefully you like it! Like I said, all bias aside, it's not great by any means as a movie. But for one that's trying to maintain a message, I think it delivers it better for its intended audience.

I haven't seen the movie, but I saw most of "God is not dead", and it's really just so painful to watch how they portray an atheist. Let's put aside that any professor would never do that in one of their classrooms or face extreme push back from the school and public, tenure or not, but he just plays a very bad debater on the problems with religion. I'd like to see them put a real atheist in the movie, one that actually has good talking points and see where it leads. Any ending would be fine, if the atheist gets converted or whatever, as long as the talking points they use in the movie are logically sound.

Agreed. You still want a fitting ending though haha, but definitely don't want biased arguments

Lovely review! You said everything I thought about God's Not Dead, and I am happy that this seems to be a bit better! As a Christian I agree with you with that these Christian movies need to stop being preachy and repeating the ending of God's Not Dead like you said. Keep up the good work!

Cinema Darling And they're working on God's Not Dead 2! Don't really know what it can possibly be about, but I just hope they strive to make it a *movie* and not a sermon pretending to be one. I am looking forward to the Hillsong movie and even War Room (newest from the Fireproof people) to see what they have to offer. But we must band together and demand quality!

I'm a Christian and God's Not Dead took the number one spot in my Top 10 WORST Movies of 2014. Most Christian movies suffer from the problem of boiling down to nothing more than propaganda. I was actually involved in the making of a Christian film called For Love's Sake which is worth checking out if you can get hold of it. It's very low budget but I think it does a better job of it than most of the films with bigger budgets.

This is a very fair review. I liked the film but agree with your downsides. I think it is better than a 13% which it is on rotten tomatoes. I do think it is tough to translate the conversion experience on film and make it not seem cloying and corny but this did a pretty good job. I didn't like the way the African American characters are generic hoodlums with names like Nefarious and Kriminal...that was a little much and I agree about the atheist characters could be a little bit more fleshed out. But all in all I found it moving and it did inspire me. I actually liked the sections of God's Not Dead with the professor and student debating because I had a similar experience in college so I related to it. I agree the ending and the some of the side characters were weak. Anyway, thanks for your review and for not completely trashing it like so many others.

Rachel Wagner Of course! And I definitely agree that more effort should be put on the cinematic side of things. I mean, preaching the Word isn't bad. But if you're going to use this medium, you want to use it to its fullest potential!

these movies display no real challenge to their protagonists. if they could just write the non-believing characters without pasting a strawman's traits on them, they might actually find opportunity to dare their sceptic audience members to consider their system of beliefs. until they do, these movies will continue to preach to the choir and reaffirm their faith with a bit more spiritual pride.

I just so happen to have ADHD and I don’t know about anyone else but I didn’t have a problem following 12 characters story lines at all. So maybe it’s just a lack of interest in the movie that you forget or pick fun of the cheesy lines that were actually not cheesy at all. As a Christian I’m definitely a fool for Christ.🙏🏼

I'm not a believer and I thought it was mediocre. I didn't get baised and gave it a chance. I liked the *car scene* very much but other than that, it wasn't the best.

Are we judging the movie on its own merit, or in comparison to "God's Not Dead"? Meaning, are we grading this movie on its own? Or are we filling out a progress report to see whether or not we improved? I would say in comparison to "God's Not Dead", the movie isn't bad... but not too many movies are bad in comparison to that piece of shit. The most honest thing one can say about this that movie is that it really sucked... it sucked less than some other movie, but it still sucked (as expected).

88Keyz102 Um, I kind of explained all your questions in the video lol From a movie channel's perspective, this film is mediocre. But as a reviewer I also have to see it through the target audience's eyes.

+The AtZ Show well, in Matthew 5:22 jesus was addressing your "brother" and not to call him a fool. meaning fellow christians. the whole verse, Matthew 5:21-23New King James Version (NKJV)Murder Begins in the Heart21 “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder,[a]and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.’ 22 But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause[b] shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire.23 Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, its in the sermon on the mount, definitely a good read too. :3 Matt ch5-7

Its complete garbage make a movie that just tells you about the reasons why god isn't real or wait there is featuring Richard Dawkins. I'm a skeptic about everything i always question without just believing i need proof. Jut imagine the magnitude of the universe and how small we are do you still think it was all for us. Just always be skeptic and think.
