I loved your conversation with a Trump supporter and when they thought things were great. As a 71 year old white man I can't truly say I understand what it is like to live through generations of racism, I don't think any white person really can but I do appreciate you getting into the facts of the past as many Americans don't seem to know the history of this country and can't tell facts from lies anymore. Maybe it is easier for them not to accept the facts. While we are all more alike than we are different, some seem to need to degrade others, perhaps to feel better about themselves. So glad I came across your show

I think you are partly wrong in your comment...been living in this country for 22 years and what I noticed about (maybe even most of) Americans, is they actually prefer that others do the thinking and making the decisions for them. They like to brag how free they are, yet, have a strong need for BELONGING. Whether to a church, chapter or what ever it might be. For the big part they actually enjoy being "sheep". Word "pastor" is latin for "shepherd" and what shepherds do? ...They lead their flock (of sheep). Also bikers like to belong to 'chapters'. So when I hear Americans (especially white ones) bragging about how free they are, I can't not to think of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe who said: "None is more enslaved than one who falsely believe he is free".

A store brand bag of tortilla chips at the local WalMart where I live was $2.29 a bag just a couple months ago. Over the last two months, it went back down to $1.98 a bag (and it's not "on sale"). It went back to its original price over the last few years. But to the average Trump supporter it would be blasphemy to get them to acknowledge that fact.

I’m no Trump fan, but the president has very little control over gas prices. The prices are controlled worldwide by OPEC. During covid the prices went up because very few people were not driving, sales went down and prices went up to stabilize the industry.

KarenHunter, I could be wrong, but it seems to take courage to do a platform like this. Also, a genuine love for people from all backgrounds. It takes courage to confront cults. I believe that you're helping some come out of it(not just referring to former pres.) This platform inspired me to grow, in spite of hostility around me. I can't say for sure, but I tried something new+I think it's a step in the right direction. Hopefully, others will take a step in a positive direction too.

I posted comments a day or two ago, and after re-reading my own comments, I realized I must have had a slight mini minor breakdown. LOL. I realized that I was more concerned about the lady saying people were stealing vs. her wanting to die if Trump didn't win. You're great! You listened to it first, then shared it with us, you were able to have a laugh about it as stunning as it was, and you allowed the space and grace for our comments because so many of us couldn't believe our ears. We pay taxes on social security benefits thanks to Reagan. We pay taxes on interest on bank accounts thanks to Reagan. Reagan lowered the age children lose social security benefits from 21 to 18. He was not kind to the middle class and was very anti-Black with his divisive "welfare queen" and "reverse discrimination" platforms.
