Tell me which you'd buy in the comments and why! ________Contents________ 00:00 - Intro 00:10 - Visual Comparison 02:16 - Exhaust 02:50 - On Road Experience
in my county a new model costs 7500-7800€ and the old model (2015 - 2018) prices are about 5500 up to 7000€ so there is no question in buying the new one
dont forget that used bikes sometimes have lots of mods, or aftermarket exhaust, etc which justifies the extra price. But yeah. I think for a value/price ratio new is better in this case
I have the 2018 model. It doesn't have the new electronic tech but the styling is very similar, i believe the seats are the same. It has the headlights of the old mt09 and personaly it looks better then the old or new mt07. It also has all the issues of the older models fixed. You can find them with low miles at an affordable price.
That’s a really good point! They did upgrade the seats on those from the original as well which helps on longer trips - sub for more content like this!
I ended up ordering the 23 model. I am one of the (seemingly few) who likes the new screen. Also nice that it comes with quickshift pre-wired. And the used marked is really expensive here, so there really wasnt that big of a jump to a new bike. The local dealer starts the 2023 model at around 16.000 AUD. A lot of the used 22 models sit around 12.000 AUD, and I honestly didnt find it worth the saving. Also, my biggest reason: I get to see the milage tick past 1km, 69km, 100km, 420 km, 999 km and so on :D
the enjoyment of having a no other owner bike that you KNOW hasn’t been thrashed is awesome especially if you want to put a sneaky turbo on at some stage! - ps would be super appreciative of a sub if you’d like to see more of these!
12.000 vs 16.000 between 2022 and 2023? Damn that's a bigger gap than here in Sweden. Here it's 80000 SEK for a brand new 2022 and over 70000 SEK for some used 2020's. While a brand new 2023 would cost 90000 SEK. Seems like a good idea to go for 2023.
I have a '22 MT07 ... and on the headlight note. Night time, it's "enough" light but there are better bikes out there. In the daytime - I run with high beams on JUST to be seen. So many almost collisions where other motorists just didn't see me. Other than that... it's a great bike. It's light, agile and fun to ride. :)
I have a 2016 MT07..I think I'm up to around 10,000 miles now but I'm not 100% sure. The cluster died and I had to replace it and it reset the odometer to zero lol. It's a great bike. I have the akra exhaust and KN air filter with power commander tune and R6 throttle tube. It's a little torque monster I really enjoy it. I use angel GT tires.
They’ve definitely updated what people didn’t like about the old model but fundamentally they’re very similar underneath. Ps would love a sub if you’d like to see more content like this!
Ive a 2015 model i have it 5 years. bought it with 4500kms. bought it for €4400. it now has 40k odd kilometres .probably service it every 18 months if i think of it 😅i do wheelies stoppies burnouts daily. have looked at the newer models but my bike is still in great condition i dont care about the looks been dated my bike gets more attention than my mates newer models cause mine is constantly on the back wheel 🤙
During the pandemic demand was really high. The price difference between brand new and 1 year old bike was literally 800 dollars. So I just went ahead and bought brand new. That way I have a warranty and I have a bike that I know that hasn't been abused.
18'-20' has the best looking headlight the halogen can easily be swapped for LEDs.. The new model probably has better suspension, and updated dash. But I love my 2019 and I'm keeping it
sadly the suspension is dogshit on both old and new MTs , it works ofcourse but if you really want a propper front end the R1/R6 front end is the way to go . 1gen mt09 847cc( 2014-2017 ) - Only ABS as option nothing else 2gen mt09 847cc ( 2018-2020 ) - Adjustable suspension, traction control, ABS, slipper clutch, LED headlights, and updated styling 3gen mt09 890cc ( 2021-present ) All of the above + new engine . my first mt09 was a brand new 2015 model , sold it last year and bought a 2021 gen 3, sold it and bought a 2018 . the 2nd gen 18mod i have now is by faar the most fun of them all to ride(black widow exhaust with decat, and riding 15-54 instead of stock 16-45 sprockets.) the 3gen is ALOT better in corners tho .
I have a 16 fz07. I had to put renthal handlebars on it because the OE were super narrow and my wrists were super uncomfortable. It helped considerably. The seat however is just horrible.
If you haven’t done much riding the suspension isn’t going to make much of a difference to you at all. Completely useable it’s just obviously not a sport bike
I bought a brand new MY 07 2023 in May, since the prices between a 2 years old one with no history on the vehicle and kind of shady dealers we have here in Bulgaria when it comes to motorcycles, are 500-700 Euro cheaper for the used one. Soooo, yea! No way I won't give 500 more for a brand new bike to remove the stickes on the dashboard :) :). Waiting for it in the beggining if July, hopefully!!
Hey there, thanks for letting me know I’m assuming you’re in the states? $7,899USD is roughly $12,000AUD, if the earlier models are that expensive where you are I’d seriously consider a brand new one!
Same case in germany. Only problem is new Models have Euro 5 and therefore are really quiet compared to older ones. Still bought the new one and I’m happy with my 2022 MT07 :)
It’s a love hate relationship for me. The new headlight, I love. The new tail, is too wide. The taillight is gross. The TFT is a nice addition but poorly executed. I want a 2015 motor with the bronze clutch cover, 2015 tail section, 2015 white color, 2020 headlight, and just a TFT that looks good. Or the original cluster. I’m legitimately contemplating getting a 2015 tail and seeing if it bolts up. But then I can’t find matching blue 🙃
The problem is, in my area, all of the used mt07s have been stunted out and absolutely abused. Not going to buy a bike that's been dropped hundreds of times and beat tf out of.
@@20Something-YT was searching for a good condition used my for a while, and all I saw were stunt bikes that were beaten the shit out of, and obviously dropped dozens of times. Finally saw a dealer got a new 2023 in and pulled the trigger on that.
That’s just shy of what they’re worth here in Australia! I’d say that’s a good deal - would be thankful for a sub if you appreciate this style of content
There is an 2023 mt07 for around 7000euro stock with just 18 km driven and a 2019 for 6600euro and 16000km, now the 2019 does have an akrapovich too, hard to decide, any tip? Will be my first bike and doing alot of research
I had a 2021 MT-07 and it was the biggest piece of crap I ever rode. Now I have a CB750 Hornet, now that's a serious motorcycle and I've had a lot of bikes since 1992.
@@20Something-YT Earth is either round, or flat. I'm not sure which one is the right one, but there's many people that say both. If only there was a way to check? Hmm... Something like the Internet, "read out loud" function of Google Translate, or maybe just listen to what a Slav tells you?
Does anyone here know the exact model/year that the ABS came as standard? I hear a lot about this has ABS but "Older ones don't". I'd hate to waste time looking at a bike assuming it had ABS only to find it didn't...
@@20Something-YT yes. What I am sure of is that in Europe old models are way louder and with less catalyst so they sound much better than new models. I ride a tracer 7 2021 euro 5 and it doesn't sound at all like the tracer of my friend from 2018...
Just had my 2021’s swing arm and coolant pipes replaced under warranty coz of the rust. Selling it before it crumbles away. If it had a better finish, I’d have kept it. Not paying for a new swingarm each year now my warranty is up. Paid 6.8 new in U.K. got 5 back trade in. Could have got more maybe but trade in was easy.
Go brand new! Warranty, latest tech, 0 miles, slower depreciation, better looks/graphics, 100% reliability, dealer support, clean title. No maintenance history or lack of to worry about. Buy new all day!
It might be a little different where you are but in Australia there’s a 1HP difference between the old and new (higher being the old) - and I believe this is due to the tuning they’ve done smoothing out the throttle on the new model a bit. Not much can be done about emissions laws unfortunately! - ps would love a sub if you enjoy this type of content!
I got to say this information definitely helped me out but Jesus Christ. Are these bikes going for a lot over by you. I bought mine for 5700 in Florida. Secondhand.
The old version is probably the most boring and ugly headlight ever, otherwise an amazing bike. You simply have to change that headlight on the old version to some aftermarket one
@@20Something-YTyeah for sure. Also the twin agressive lights on the mt09 and mt15 etc were awesome (not sure why the mt07 skipped that whole generation of lights)
Thinking a lot about visuals is pretty gay. All that matters is how it feels to ride. If any dumbass asks you why you don't get a bike that looks a certain way, the best answer is usually "...do you have a bike?" To me, talking endlessly about the look of a bike is like asking a guy about his shoes. Like... wtf? This isn't pointed at you OP just thinking out loud
In all honesty there’s not much difference in the drivetrain between the two bikes! Other than aesthetics and some minor improvements the original bike is much the same! That’s why I think you’re better off saving some money
Incredibly hard to find new MTs in my area. Dealers dont know when theyll get new ones so you leave your number and they will call you. My dealer has a 2019 with Akrapovic FULL exhaust with rear tidy and led blinkers. It has 3700 miles on it. Asking 7800. New models bone stock are 8100 not including fees and delivery which is 500. Is it worth waiting a year or so for a new one or is the 2019 a good value considering the lack of supply? Thanks in advance to anyone willing to share their advice.
yeah so like in my country brand new 2024 MT 07 is like 8000~8500€ and used ones up to 4 years old only costs 1000€ less 😂🥲very hard to find older than that and if you get 2023/2024 model you can get quickshifter so yeah... if im getting one, im getting a brand new one
