That one second of hope when Missy left to stand with the Doctor - all over thanks to John Simm's Master. I mean, he's been evil before, but that was just cold - killing himself just so he doesn't have to stand with the Doctor! Well, at least they went out laughing!

the episode was heartbreaking it broke my heart when it showed all the companions saying "doctor".I just couldn't cope with it and started screaming at the screen...

I loved Missy so much, like i'm actually upset that a mass murder (mass doesn't feel big enough) died, thats when you know you created an amazing villain, RIP you beautifully insane psychopath.

This episode was incredible! The Doctor must not change and then you see the first doctor. Missy got murdered by herself! And Bill is made out of space engine oil! Who knows what happened to Nardole! But this episode was amazing!

I think we're probably gonna have an "IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE" style christmas episode. Where the first Doctor shows the twelfth why it's essential that he allow himself to regenerate and go on living. Not sure if it's actually real or in the Doctor's head though. Imagine if the christmas episode has flashbacks (re-enactments) to classic scenes from the show. Depicting how the Doctor has changed so many peoples lives for the better. While both Doctors watch on (Christmas carol style). Maybe the trench scene from the leaked picks is the end scene from Family of blood? That may also explain the need for a Delgado stand in, as there may be various shots at different angles (ie. from the respective of the Doctors). Just speculation, but that could be interesting.

If the Christmas Special is great, they should try doing multi-doctor stories with classic Doctors more often. Perhaps Reece Shearsmith doubling for Patrick Troughton as The Second Doctor. Or imagine all the doctors thrown together in the same room, that would be crazy.

So the Missy caused her own regeneration in this episode? Going by Big Finish this is the second time it's happened and both were just as insane moments. This has to be my favorite season finally just on how the Doctor went down and how he refuses to regenerate, it's such a great moment. Capaldi really got to be at his best as an actor here and so did Pearl.

The final scene. This is just after THE Doctor leaves the Snowcap base after defeating the Cybermen in the 10th Planet at the south pole (set in the year 1986) and before he regenerates in his Tardis so we get two Re-generations in the Christmas episode.

When he mentioned "Canary Wharf" that was a major continuity error, the Canary Wharf cybermen did not originate from the Doctor's universe, they originated from the alternate universe, created by John Lumic.

Couldn't help grinning at the top when you said you couldn't find the words. You will, eventually.

This bloody episode had me in bits by the end. Peter was dynamite That line about the stars was delivered amazingly.

Such an incredible way for the current series to end and such a fitting tribute to everyone leaving, Loved it and cant wait to see the Christmas Special. Capaldi might have started off a bit slow as the Doctor in my opinion, but he is right up there are one of the best Doctors now!!

Alex is basically my clone when it comes to Doctor Who. Especially during that last scene!

Well there goes the Doctor's biggest enemy, I shed my man tears for it and the rest of the episode.

I believe what he was attempting to do was re-enact the exact situation he was in when he generated into himself in Time of the Doctor episode to perhaps regenerate into himself. I think the first quote was him just coming to. The second quote "I don't want to go" was him just working through his past generations in his head to remember exactly what he said and was doing at the time of regeneration. The reason I think this is because when he recites Matt smiths "when the doctor was me" He says "no" and re positions himself into the location where Matt Smith was when he said it to Clara. I think from the concentration on his face is him trying to remember it exactly and struggling due to the blow to thee head perhaps? Or could simply the explosion and wound on his head making him a bit loopy but just a theory :)On a side note me and a friend who also watches the show have speculated that the mannerism of a generation of the Doctor, at the point of regeneration & cause of death, reflects on what the mannerism of the next generation will be. for example: Christopher's regeneration, he was very urgent when the actual cause of death took place, but he was being very happy go lucky, a bit casual with Rose before he regenerated thus created David's happy go lucky and playful Doctor with the swings of complete panic and emotions. David's regeneration on the other hand was very child like and selfish before he sacrificed himself "I could do so much more" ect. Also during generation "I don't want to go" to me (is a great final quote) and sounds almost child like thus created Matt's young childish Doctor and finally Matt's cause of death was old age and the first regeneration was explosive however before the actual regeneration he was very serious and grown and advising Clara in a more humble and mature manner bringing us to Peter. You can also link the classic doctors regeneration & deaths to this as well. Just an idea that would back up and explain why he was quoting old doctors.

OK, is it weird that I just realised that episode 1's title has a double meaning? "The Pilot" could be in reference to it being the first episode, and that it's meant to be a new starting off point (which is what we all assumed it meant) but it could also be in reference to the literal Pilot (Heather). MIND BLOWN!!!

I actually came here(for the second time) because someone else's reaction video.....skipped THE ENTIRE HEATHER BILL REUNION. They mase a comment about heather show Bill for a second over capaldi...and then jumped to Capaldi again. I don't know how anyone could have no reaction to that and their particular american accents grated on me And then I come here...complete shot of Bill losing it over the doctor and allk of the emotional bits of Bill and heather...you had the same reaction as I did actually! i love that throughout the episode capaldi is saying lines from the other doctors. alough i cant pinpoint it but theres one specific line that i can remember but i dont know where it is from. it's from the scene of...well i think hte doctor walking outside the barn house in the daylight
