Doctor Who 7x13 REACTION!! "The Name of the Doctor"

Trenzalore has been mentioned before. Remember Dorian(the blue head guy) The doctor asked him why the silents believed his future had to be averted. Dorian says, "On the fields of Trenzalore at the fall of the eleventh when no living creature can speak falsely or fail to answer a question will be asked...The silents are determined the question will never be answered, that the doctor will never reach Trenzalore... Doctor who?"

I really like the solution to Clara's mystery: the Impossible Girl was in fact a very normal human being, who just happened to be the Doctor's companion at the time he went to Trenzalore.

"Introducing John Hurt as The Doctor" Still gives me the chills all these years later. As is obvious by now I adore Clara, so I really love this whole "I was born to save the Doctor" idea, and the reveal of why there are echos of her throughout time. Vastra, Jenny and Strax all thankfully survived. The GI was... defeated. We got to see my beloved River Song again, and she interacted with Clara which was FANTASTIC! Trenzalore, the final resting place of the Doctor. And bigger on the outside TARDIS. I just really love 'The Name Of The Doctor' 😍

Man, idk of they are ready for these next two episodes. Oh Aaron don't forget that 10 regenerated twice

I always loved how “run you clever boy, and remember me” by Clara Prime became “run you clever boy, and remember” in all the other versions - the last syllable being missed off the echos

The John Hurt turnaround reaction was everything I've been hoping for. Love how much the onscreen text threw them too. Broken record, but next week (And all the lead-up apparently!) is gonna be amazing.

This episode was soooooo satisfying, especially as a conclusion to Clara's mystery. She wasn't anyone special, or a special trap laid out by the universe for the Doctor. She was just an ordinary girl who happened to be there and sacrificed herself to save the Doctor. All through series 7B the Doctor has not fully trusted Clara, always keeping a suspicious eye on her despite his growing affection for her. With this mystery cleared up, and the knowledge of what she did for him, he won't hold back any more, and their relationship in the coming episodes and series will become deeper and deeper.

I've been waiting for this one. SO thrilled by Eric's reaction to John Hurt...and even more thrilled for the crew's reaction to the next two episodes. They're my favorite Doctor Who episodes.

Good thing Aaron stopped them before they went too deep into talking about Doctors past Matt.

This is a good finale to the season !!. We finally get the answer as to why Clara is the Impossible Girl and I thought it was cool and satisfying . It’s always nice to see Strax ,Vastra and Jenny aswell as River , her moment with the Doctor towards the end was emotional . Also that cliffhanger is crazy ....I can’t wait for you guys to watch the 50th!!

I can't wait to see Calvin's Reaction to the Curator in Day of the Doctor, also The Regeneration they are forgetting is David Tennant when he was killed by the Dalek and regenerated into his hand, Surprised Aaron forgot about that one.

Been waiting for this reaction. I may be harsh on series 7, maybe even a little _too_ harsh, but that reveal at the end might go down as my favourite reveal in the whole show. A mystery Doctor, one we've never seen before, who did something so bad that later incarnations refused to acknowledge him and even straight up despise him, played by the legendary John Hurt. That was such an awesome moment back when it aired. I knew what was coming but I still get goosebumps re-watching this, from the first shot of him and especially when he starts talking.

I seem to recall in the Let's Kill Hitler episode, River gave her remaining regeneration stuff to the Doctor, not the other way around.

“I never realised you were a woman...” River has that “could I get away with killing him... again?” expression.

Such a good episode. The next 2 are masterpieces.

While the actual resolution at the end of the episode is a bit too "Timey Wimey Wibble Wobbly it just works" for my taste, and I don't know how I actually feel about some of the story implications, I do still absolutely love the rest of the episode. Lot of great fun, lot of drama, and some great performances by the cast too. Matt Smith in particular is fantastic during that scene where the Doctor's mask briefly slips and he starts breaking down about having to go to Trenzalore.

Hopefully they do "Night of the Doctor" before "Day of the Doctor"

19:19 What you are talking about, Aaron, is a mini-episode called Clarence and the Whispermen which is a prequel to this episode.

When it comes to the great intelligence, they introduced them in 'the snowmen' and are the being behind the group in 'the bells of saint John'. The idea bring that they've used this time to grow smarter and evolve, so now they don't need the body.

This episode is simply - all that is best about Doctor Who. Plus it has one of my three favourite companions (along with Amy and Sarah-Jane).

John Hurt was the guy in which the alien burst out of his chest in the original Alien movie!

I hope they are planning to watch the mini-episode "Night of the Doctor" next. It is next in line before the "The Day of the Doctor" 50th special. Night of the Doctor is a must watch!!!!

This one and the day of the doctor are my favorites and can't wait to watch their reactions for both of them.

John Hurt. I first became aware of him in the late 1970s in 'I Claudius' (he played Caligula). 'Elephant Man', 'Alien', so many great roles. His appearance in 'Doctor Who' is magical. As for Strax fighting, it was pointed out in 'The Sontaran Experiment' (4th Doctor, Season 12), Sontar is a high-gravity planet, and Sontarans, while small, are very, very strong.

It may have been said further down, but it is Essential, especially given your comments, that you watch the mini episodes leading up to the 50th Anniversary episode. You simply HAVE to watch Night of the Doctor, as it answers a lot of your questions. BTW, Mark Gatis is the name of the writer/actor you were looking for.

First got to know John Hurt when he was playing The Storyteller in Jim Henson's series of the same name. I knew right away he was a top-shelf actor, and he never diminished that opinion.

@BlindWave - Tennant's 10th Doctor used up a regeneration at the end of series 4 but avoided a full change by channeling half the energy in to his chopped off hand in that container ("Stolen Earth", "Journey's End") so including John Hurt's Doctor that all 12 regenerations.

Does anyone remember waaaaay back early on in these reactions they were speculating on who would make a good doctor. Eric's first choice was John Hurt. Let me know if you remember which reaction it was in. I guess it would be somewhere around Christmas Invasion maybe?

John Hurt has been so many different roles, obviously the elephant man, launching the alien from his chest, Quinton Crisp, Olivanda, but when he turned around, he forever became “THE DOCTOR” thank mr hurt for having the vision too accept the role.

The movie is canon. Remember in the "Human Nature," "the Next Doctor," and "the Eleventh Hour" episodes, all of which showed faces of past Doctors...they all show Paul McGann from the TV movie. He is the Eighth Doctor.
