Hands down the best episode of Peter's run and easily a top 10 episode In most eyes, it's seriously amazing! Edit: When you hear that first line about him never ever stopping you get real excited thinking he will get his revenge for sure, but once you realize he will literally never stop even for 4 and a half billion years it breaks your hearts knowing he cares for clara that much. Find someone that will do something even near a single percentage of that and you've got a keeper.

So glad to hear that Peter may now be your favourite Doctor, to me, he is the most 'Doctor-y' Doctor out of all the new bunch. By which I mean he echoes or encapsulates the Doctors of the original series. More mysterious, otherworldly, unpredictable, crotchety, sharper wit than his more recent predecessors that he could have easily slotted into the original series lineup anywhere from the 1960s and 1970s. If you like Peter's side of the character then I really think you'll love the classic Doctors, especially the first four. I think many subs would love to see you dip into a couple of fan favourites from each.

The first time that The Doctor was stuck in a "Time Loop" was with the 4th Doctor Tom Baker, in the episode "Meglos". Capaldi though had a much more tougher way to get out of it! Capaldi went above and beyond what any other Doc has done for his companion!

As a friend of mine puts it when asked who's her favorite Doctor. "The current one." Speaking of current, Current Shayla needs to write a note for Future Shayla to tell her it's going to be OK when the regeneration happens. It's happened before. It'll happen again. Companions come and then they go. The TARDIS keeps getting redecorated and the past Doctor doesn't like it. I find it funny when get overwhelmed with the feels and yell that you give up on the show and can't take it anymore. And then you post another review. For Current Shayla and Future Shayla, deep breaths. It hurts for a while but you'll recover from it.

I've such a Classic Who Nerd, so you know how strongly I feel about this episode when I say that this is my favourite Doctor Who episode of either of the 2 runs. I remember on 1st watch the slow realisation of what was happening, followed with the impact of Thousand years becoming Millions and then the incredulous Billions. Great Sci-Fi, My mind was blown. I re-watched straight away (I never do that) and watched a totally new story. I re-watched again recently for the first time in a few years and with some life experience under my belt and watched a 3rd story about Grief. That line about, The day you lose someone isn't the worst, it's all the days they stay dead..... Damn that hit me hard. This could be my favourite episode of any TV Show.

That was absolutely amazing, I have been waiting for this episode for so long and I was not at all let down. I honestly consider this to be a television masterpiece. The fact that the whole episode was essentially a monologue absolutely blows me away - you are absolutely right about 12 stealing the room whenever he talks. I love the other Doctors too, but nobody can command the audience like 12 does. And his progression, you hit the nail on the head, 12 has had the best character progression I have seen in a long time - I think it's quite similar to the calibre that Walter White has if you've seen Breaking Bad - not in style, but in substance. We first see this grumpy arrogant man who is clearly so uncomfortable in his own skin, but look at him now. Clara has been absolutely essential for 12, as a friend and a companion - he needed her, like really needed - I don't think I realised that until this episode. Remember when he wanted do know if he was a good man? he not only forgot who he was, but why he was doing anything, or how to feel. Clara and his relationship is incredibly intense, you would have definitely seen that in the next episode. There relationship is to intense that he literally cannot function properly without her. The closest we have got to something like this was Timelord Victorious with 10 - largely because he didn't want to die. 12s motivation is absolutely... Hell Bent.... on Clara and Clara alone. He put himself through all of that so he can get to her again. These is something about a relationship like this, so powerful and all intense, that is not sexual that I find absolutely amazing. They are addicted to eachother, and you can tell that the actors are really good friends too (when you've finished with 12 I'll suggest some RU-vid videos of the two of them being interviewed together). Some little tidbits about the episode. - 12 painted that painting of Clara - the room resets aren't perfect, if something happened enough times, the room would reset with the addition. So he painted that painting thousands of times until it became a permanent addition. This is also how the clues like "I'm in 12" got left. He put them thete - In the confession dial, the Died about 12 trillion times. TWELVE TRILLION! - In the earlier loops, he hadn't left any clues yet, so he spent months trying to find the way out. Months and Months of having to run every 50 or so minutes to the other side of the Castle. This was a fantastic reaction, that you so much for putting yourself through all that emotional distress for our enjoyment :)

Smith is my favorite Doctor, but in my opinion, Capaldi's era is the most consistently great. You can tell Moffat and the writers were rejuvenated with Capaldi.

This episode. This. This is a work of art. It's one of the best episodes, in my opinion, of television I've ever seen, and Capaldi's performance, just Capaldi, was fantastically amazing. And the music at the end is one of my favorite pieces of all time. It's all phenomenal.

This is my favorite episode of Doctor Who ever. There is so much subtext in this episode. Part of it is a love story, a revenge plot, but to me, it's a great metaphor about grief. "It’s funny. The day you lose someone isn’t the worst - at least you’ve got something to do. It’s all the days they stay dead." That line has always stuck with me. I lost someone very close to me a long time ago and the days after their passing where taken up with making plans, calling family members, closing up their affairs, etc. By the time I had free time to think about how I felt about it all, too much time had passed. It would have been improper to bring my feelings to family members who were processing too. The cold that settles in when you realize that in all days that are ahead they'll still be gone.

The idea for the monster in this episode actually came from Jenna Coleman. In an interview she was asked what she thought the scariest villain was, and her reply was that she thought the scariest villain would be something that comes at you very slowly, it's unstoppable, and there's no way to escape from it: it just keeps coming at you, but very slowly. Moffat heard her and thought, "Huh," and filed it away.

Two Shayla's in one video, what a great surprise, thank goodness for camera fails. So glad that even despite the tears, you could still appreciate how good this episode was. Capaldi's run as the doctor really shows where Doctor Who has come, series 1 with burping bins, series 9 complex layered character pieces with time loops. Glad you really liked this episode :)

One of the best episodes I've ever seen in all of Doctor Who, I would even dare say, one of the best stories I've ever seen on television history due to the complexity involved, the poetic nature of it, the personal conflicts and resolutions it generates about us and the Doctor's storyline, the fact it can be seen as a debate between depression/oppression vs endurance/freedom, the cleverness of playing with all the elements, the fact that it can be seen as a great standalone, the acting involved, the monologues, the fact that it's a great mystery (which Doctor Who should often be)... I could go on all day. This episode is a wonderful and rare piece of television art imo.
