Joseph Levy one thing I noticed is every episode in series 1 is set on earth or a space station near earth they talk about being in other worlds but they never are seen on one
Yeah but what I mean even though the show never shows them going to another planet in series 1, some of the novels with 9 and Rose feature them on another world (infact I'm pretty sure Boom Town mentioned one of the novels)
My favourite season, my favourite Doctor and one of my favourite episodes! "She's climbing out the window isn't she?" "Errrr yes she is." (The Doctor nods assuredly and purposefully opens the door) Never fails to make me laugh! X

The fact that this clip... This sole clip taken out of context from an episode from Doctor Who Series 1... A clip that I had very little context of... Would be the clip that introduced me into Doctor Who and made me a big fan of it!!
Oh yeah. You’d think The Doctor be more skeptical over Jack given how Adam panned out, yet they knowingly tease each other for amusement and work well together as if Jack’s been around the Tardis as long as Rose has.
The music, acting, the writing, all made it amazing. Really wish they could go back to that kind of thing in the recent season. You need epic music at proper points, dramatic music at dramatic points, and you have to follow one rule. The Doctor always should always try to save everyone.
Or the very beginning. There's a reason why Doctor Who became a roaring success from its very second serial. Look up "Dalekmania" if you don't believe me. That was the true golden era, one that has been swept under the rug by the obsession with 70s/80s who by current writers that grew up with it - when 60s Who is just as good if not better.
@@EightThreeEight What’s funny about it is the contrast between Captain Jack jumping over it like some action hero to then Mickey stumbling into it like an idiot in the scene following.
Y'know, I think it's a bit funny how the Oncoming Storm, Bringer of Darkness, Destroyer of Worlds, last of the wise and ancient Time Lords of Gallifrey, sole surviving veteran and victor of the Last Great Time War, destroyer of both the Time Lord and Dalek empires, the Time Lord Victorious, destined to bear the names of the Beast and the Valeyard, had a _really_ hard time wrestling their way past that one shy mid-20s receptionist.
It's so strange watching this scene with Jack and seeing how lighthearted he is in it and a few years later watching the same chracter having to kill his young innocent grandson to save the world.
Nine is amazing. Nine is easily one of the best Doctor's. So can someone tell me why it took him so long to subdue the receptionist. A man of that calibre should be able to take him out in about 5 seconds
Jon Ericson In the next episode (Bad Wolf) he throws a guy against a wall, and that knocks him out. (On this channel, it's the video titled "let's do it", if you want to check it out)
Because the receptionist isn't a villain and hasn't wronged the Doctor in any way. He's just a regular guy who is trying to protect his boss. There was no reason for the Doctor to go ballistic on him. He was trying to subdue him gently.
I can't believe i missed these episodes with Eccleston as a kid. I think it must have been just before my parents allowed me to watch Doctor Who lol. Either that or I just can;t remember them as i was only 4/5 but they're great. I loved David Tennant as the Doctor but Eccleston was great as well tbf.
He needed to make more than 1 season but he's quite underrated and funny! The 9th Doctor is one I grew up watching! I didn't really watch the older ones sadly!

One of the best “filler” episodes. A light hearted and funny episode sandwiched between 2 dark stories. Considering the series 1 budget they made a really nice plot and character piece
I love how Mickey started out as a goofball but transitioned into a badass. Great development for my boy! Also, I love 9's face here 3:09, so sassy i love it.
So after being kicked out of the queen Vic, Aunt Babe migrated to Wales and became the mayor of Cardiff where it was later found out that she was actually an Alien in disguise

1:45 I love how this dude has no idea who this Doctor guy is but a government official is climbing out the window to avoid him and he just decides he's not paid enough to deal with whatever is going on here.
We get to see the Doctor's version of Dueling Banjos in Dueling Alien Technologies - Margaret's teleporter sounds off first then the Doctor's sonic screwdriver "chimes in" and it's off to the races (as in a racetrack)!
"According to intelligence, the target is..." 'Intelligence'? Who's 'intelligence', Jack? Who are you talking about? You just came straight from the park to here.
Imagine, Owen, or Tosh, or Suzie walked by that day and saw Jack...........like wouldnt they question it or did the Jack that was currently in Torchwood made sure everyone was away during that time to avoid a paradox
