@@Kryojenix I take your point given the way "Night ..." was written but he (Paul Mc Gann) was very good in that short piece and was good in the Doctor Who movie (even though it has been criticised). [Not because she is a woman but I feel that Paul McGann whould be a better "Doctor" than Jodie Whittaker]
Thanks a lot!! It was a little difficult to create something that looked similar to the Movie sequence, but I'm pretty happy with what I got in the end. It's not perfect by any means, so I'd love to get some insight on how they did it back then.
That would be pretty cool! If you want your Eighth Doctor fix, I recommend going through the Big Finish stuff (if you haven't already). I've always been a huge fan of the Charley era, personally, it's some of my favourite Doctor Who stuff :)
Thanks a lot :) I used Photoshop to make McGanns face, Premiere to do the keying on the Pertwee sequence stuff and the text, and Blender's Eevee render engine for the vortex, TARDIS and everything else
Always preferred this to the David Arnold theme - despite Dark Eyes and Eight's later adventures being my preference - always annoyed me they dropped this version of the intro after the Lucy Miller arc :(
Great intro also, what did you usd for the texture of the vortex itself? Im currently making a recreation of the TV movie vortex and cant figure out what images etc they used
Ermm uhhh ummmm I forgor sorry I think I projected a picture of a galaxy onto a cylinder and used drivers on the object properties and texture mapping node to give it different warping effects. I didn’t source any images from the actual TV Movie sadly but I tried my best to colour match it :))
Hahaha, I really didn't like it either when I first went through series 2, but it grew on me by series 3. Series 4 would have been more suited to the David Arnold theme :)
You've just gotta put in the time to learning the skills. It takes a bit of time to grow enough confidence, but if you're enthusiastic and optimistic about your work, you'll be able to make something you're proud of in no time!! I'm more than happy to share any details on how I put together my projects. I'm no professional, but I love what I do and I love sharing it. Just practice and don't give up :)
