I did a dod delete on my truck, 2009 sierra 1500. And before the lifter problem... it never switched into v4. Now I that it's all better "physically" lol... it tries constantly. I have the vlom ziptied to the intake manifold and plugged in and keep it in manual mode to keep out of v4. Yeah its jury rigged but I cant afford 500 bucks to tune it right now. I was looking into diablo sport tuner, or something like that. But thank you for this video! This is my first LS endeavor. And so far inspite of the inconvenience of the lifter problem I'm happy with the repair results. #leanringcurve.
Yeah hp tuners came be very overwhelming and I got to thank matt happel for helping me get started back in the day and he gave me the push to buy it 3-4 years ago. I try to learn as much as I can also
I enjoyed it. Nicely done. Also with hp tuners you can delete vats too so you won’t have to use a transponder key. I’m curious if you can do a video on that too.✌️
Boost V8 chevy use a 2.5 inch pipe to the turbo. Depending on the motor, cam, and a lot of other things. But the vs racing 78/75 billet wheel turbo spools super fast and can make 700 whp. I got a video of my turbo Silverado with that turbo. Go check it out
This was my problem. I was worried the cylinder 1 4 6 and 7 had bad codes on scanner. Thank you. If I disable this should I not need to change dod delete kit?
Have a 2013 Silverado 5.3 - I’ve seen many other vids showing just the dod disabled but not turning off the DTC’s. Does my particular model need the DTC turned off? Thanks
I do it because if the vlom has a problem even though it’s not used anymore it will throw a check engine light. I do away with it because it’s not needed anymore
It seems to me, that most of these failed lifters, are crusty and full of cooked oil, perhaps 5000 - 7000 mile oil changes are part of the issue. 3500 miles, MAX, good filter, and synthetic oil, I use Amsoil 0w-20.
I have seen them Lock the lifters up with a completely clean engine. Normally the locking pin in the lifter wears down and creates a ramp that just slips on itself. Causing it to never to stay unlocked. But normally yes the more dirty and non oil changed vehicles have the problem
@@DGGarage perfect and if i disable dod it does disable the afm valve in exhaust as well since the car wont switch from v4 to v8 most aftermarket exhaust like corsa requires afm do be tuned out
Marques Conerly when you disable dod that is afm. Once you turn off dod the afm is off! Nothing worst than having a nice car with exhaust and dod turning one making it a 4cyl lol
