Thanks for the vid. I have to rebuild the cv on my 98 2500. Swapped in a non CAD axle, so the shaft is always spinning now and i can feel the vibration over 50mph

I have to do this on my truck tomorrow. Not looking forward to it and last time I tried taking off the front drive shaft I stripped one of the torques bolts
I have my front driveshaft apart right now and I don't remember seeing that dust boot that covers the CV ball. Got all the u joints and the ball on the way but not that dust cover thing!
subbed; thanks for the info.. I have to do this ASAP in my 08 3500 DRW's front shaft. it's wiggly and squeaks like hell at 20+ mph and I have a vibration at around 60mph.. I just need to determine WHICH u-joints mine takes.. I think my joints are fine, but the centering ball is dead, I do believe..
Won't last at all. Don't drive the truck like that. If you don't have time to fix it just pull the drive shaft back out and drive the truck without it till you have time to put the spring in.
What are the part numbers/info. For the 3 universals you used(seen one was a spicer), and what is that ball with the spring called? Plan on doing mine.Thanks
Use 2 hose removal picks to hook on inside of housing and pull straight out after using small pry bar to work it out a little. Watch part 2 of my video to see me do it. First 15 seconds or so of the vid.

Can you list all part numbers for all 3 u joints and the cv ball please? Also what brand of ball joint press is that? It looks rather handy to use instead of a hydraulic press.

You can also find it here and at Lordco. Funny enough Dodge probably won't have them depending if your in Canada or the USA. Use a sealed for life U joint if you can find then. There built to a higher quality and will outlast the greasable ones for shure. I sadly could not find them fast enough.
