Welcome to the modern world. chassis from Mitsubishi Lancer, 2.0 and 2.4 engine from Hyundai, CVT from Mercedes (not sure maybe Japan). from the dodge only an emblem and a poor interior. jeep patriot full copy of this car

@Roberta Rodriguez i own one from 07 with about 230k km on it and it's on average 6.1l per 100km or 38.55 mpg. i still own it only because i know how to service and fix it myself. i would never recommend this car to anyone! suspension needs more attention than normal, a lot of electrical issues (airbag system errors, abs esp etc, errors and flickering lighting) and lots of rust spots... And if you think the engine is bulletproof because it's a volkswagen tdi... its not! the coupling for the oil pump will fail (if noticed in time, use refurbished parts and can do it yourself costs about 400 Euro. if not could be 3000 or total loss). the head is prone to cracking which will cause all kinds of problems and last but not least; the variable vanes in the turbo are prone to sticking or even seizing up. this will lead up to overboosting and the engine going into "limp mode". after all that said and my personal experience with this car i can honestly say to never buy this car!

Yes this is the improved 2.0 TDI CR engine thankfully. The 2.0 TDI PD was a very unreliable engine

i could immediately tell it wasn't dodges engine, dodges engine for this car sounds like a bunch of cicadas

I've got one and can honestly say wholeheartedly it's like driving a transit especially the diesel. You can't see the bonnet at all while driving it and the areas to look for rust wise are rear bumper support front and rear subframes and the outer sills

this is one of dodges most unreliable hatchbacks ever and i think it was their first hatchback, corrosion problems, A/C dying, Coolant leaks, Axle alignment issues, Car just falls apart in general

@@kasemaker1119 True, mine is a Caliber 2.0 CRD, it is 15 years old and has 0 faults. I have not changed the EGR or MAF Flowmeter, nothing except oil and brake pads like any other car. No trace of oxidation anywhere. You still talk without knowing.

Im thinking of buying a Caliber and selling my 2005 Volkswagon Jetta, would you recommend the Caliber?

@@M.A.V.E.O yes they are definetley great cars compared to Volkswagen the 2.0 and the 2.4 are great engine
