Kia Stinger GT vs Dodge Charger 392 vs Mercedes CLS53 AMG, things get dirty! Drag and Roll Race. Join this channel to get access to perks: / @samcarlegion
Agreed, Kia was in a tough spot. The Stinger sold very poorly; lowering the MSRP would help sales but it wouldn't be profitable AND possibly create a loss for Kia. It has a very vocal fringe following on this channel, but they simply didn't put their money where their mouths are.
They stopped selling the most popular GT1 trim and removed equipment from it. The 2021 was perfection... I owned one. Those Italian inspired rims were beautiful.
When all things considered such as price, warranty, standard equipment, driving experience, performance etc, nothing comes close to the Stinger. I love mine. The sound of the Charger is amazing
Something about a naturally aspirated v8. Dodge definitely does it best especially with their supercharged versions. Like most turbocharged v6 they tend to be a bit quieter but we do get that "woosh" sound of the BOVs once we let off. Nonetheless like you I love my Stinger as well. Very balanced AWD car & is great in the winter. Granted mine is garaged ATM but the few days it has snowed it definitely puts my winter Sportage to shame & that's with all season tires unlike my winter Sportage that has Bridgestone Blizzaks on her. Can only imagine what the Stinger would perform like with a good set.
@@josephrepetsky546 Here in Oz we only get a RWD which is sensational. I would love to have an AWD as I had several Subaru's which were AWD and I loved them
I own a Stinger 19, love it, you won’t be disappointed. Here in Australia it has a good following, I’m part of a group that goes on meets and drives, so awesome to see a swarm of 26 stingers in convoy 😊
You should, you won’t regret it. I own 19 GT2 and it’s a beautiful piece of machine. The looks, the performance and you just can’t understand you getting that from a Kia. Great machine!!!
Now that's surprising 😳😲 i know the stringer was quick but now i see it's really punching above it's weight .. very impressive 😎 i really thought it was going to be out classed but it was holding its own with the big boys 😁👍
It's so funny how Kia really kicks ass nowadays! I have a slight problem now and I wonder if anybody noticed this. I took a ride with a friend in a Hyundai Tucson backseat, and I felt I was riding "diagonally" - the way the seat was positioned haha. Has anybody else experienced that diagonal travel feeling, rather than being sitting perfectly straight? A Venza I rode in made me feel I was perfectly perpendicular to my travel. The latest Tucson was the only one I felt that way, since I haven't had a chance to check out a Kia
I knew the Stinger should have the better start. Glad it was clarified that the charger got a head start in the first race. The sound the charger makes is beautiful.
I wish someone would bring a tuned stinger or G70 someday, if Sam was close to where I live, I would have been in every single video of his, but I have the big brother G80 sport.
You made the right choice and at the right time as the stinger is about to go out of production which is sad to hear it's just such a nice car and the performance it offers for the price it's a bargain
@@chiron03 no doubt the Stinger especially the GT is a nice car I love it myself and glad you got the exact spec which you wanted it's definitely underappreciated that's why KIA didn't get to sell these as much as they expected and now when the car is about to go out of production people are finally starting to realize what a great brilliant peice of engineering the Stinger GT is
@@FB6K24Z7 Yeah the Stinger had just come out right after I bought a 2017 Ford Focus RS and I thought it was awesome. Fast forward 5 years and I sold the RS and bought a Stinger.
@@MrM4rvelous that don't means it didn't sell poorly. Car manufacturers need certain numbers to be sold, if they can't get that number, that means it not selling. Example if their goal is to sell 400 unit and only sold 150 unit, that not good sell.
The only thing I’m not a fan of when watching your videos is when you pick a car you thought was going to win, but lose, you never have the same energy/enthusiasm as when you’re winning. Always stay quiet when things don’t go your way as opposed to other RU-vidrs who do similar stuff like you. When you lose, it’s always a quiet race the whole time. Would be nice if you would do some type of commentary even while you’re losing instead of either staying quiet the whole time or always just saying the same words all the time. I still love your videos and I’m gonna keep watching. Just thought I’d make a quick suggestion. Maybe other people would agree.
@@Welcometofacsistube I’ve seen em go 180-200k miles and no sweat. Earlier models were buggy tbh, but after 2018 they were great. 365hp and claps a 485 and AMG, Kia must be doing something right lol
Those Chargers and Hellcats have always been a victim of their own low end torque. I always thought they should have built a few AWD Hemi's seeing how fast the Trackhawks launch.
Just bought a 23 Stinger GT2 AWD Panthera Grey, was also looking at the EVG GT LINE but decided to go stinger for now, how do you like your EV6? That will probably be my next car in 2 or 3 years
@@briandelgado4922 Yeah I got the the EV6 GT-Line in Runway Red GT2 package. Crazy good vehicle. Didnt think I would like it more than the Stinger. The way it handles, the instant acceleration, and features are amazing. But congrats on your Stinger. If I could afford both, I would have kept the Stinger too lol. You're going to love it.
@@swifitly-6149 Discontinued after a pretty solid 5 yrs to build an electric that is marketed to replace and outperform it anyway. It was never meant to be a volume sales car. The new KIA EV6 GT is doing 0-60 in 3.2 sec and embarrassing even more "fast" cars 😆
@@swifitly-6149 Agreed. While I do love the visceral experience of loud V8s and shifting gears, most of the "fast" cars; hellcats, gt500s, and the foreign exotics are quickly going to prove obsolete in at least these stop light and drag race scenarios..Hobby and professional NHRA racing is differentmt, but I mean daily driver cars that people track once or twice... 5 more years and I don't think we'll be seeing anymore strictly gasoline muscle/super cars. They're all going to at least be hybrid or full EV. Just can't compete with the instant torque. Crazy times indeed
The stinger is being replaced by the EV6 as Kia’s new Halo car, they are pushing electric cars like most other car manufacturers. Pity they didn’t make an electric Stinger may have been a good proposition.
I love your videos bro. I really like how you throw in the odd tuned version of some cars. One thing I would like to see are actual 1/4 mile times. Maybe throw a dragy in each car🤷🏼♂️ Would be nice to know🤙🏻
If you want to modify, definitely go Stinger route. Also, if you want AWD Stinger has that option as well. If you don't care about either and just love the sound of the v8 and raw power definitely the 392 is right for you.
I have a 2019 Challenger Scat with a 6 speed manual and crush these cars constantly. 3.90 rear end, and stock. I'm running 4 flat to 60mph and 10.6 to 100mph on the bald tires. I just got new tires last week that hook up even better than the OEs. I know I will lower those times with these tires. I just haven't had a chance to do it yet but it is launching even harder now. 22k miles on her. Plus, I have about 300 pounds of tools in my trunk and am getting those times. I have beat 3 Model 3 Performance Teslas too. Everyone that races me asks what I did to make it so fast. I just say, I added weight in the trunk plus it's a stick, 3.90 rear. Also, those automatic Chargers come with 2 different rear options. I'm curious to know what rear is in this car in this video. No spin at launch is key. I have not lost yet to any car since new in 2019. I drive it in the snow too here in Connecticut. I have beaten other Scats too bt a good margin. The 3 Teslas were close but a car to car and a half behind me. Everywhere I go in town people say they love my car and see me ripping around all the time. Thankfully I have the only one around in Octane Red with my American Bully in the passenger seat and most of the cops have already met me and know it's me tearing it up and they leave me be. The sticks ain't no joke if you know how to drive. I'm only running it in sport mode too, race mode, forget about it, you're my after dinner snack everytime. Never go by what you see online because a good driver makes all the difference in the world in racing.
@@DJFilmsProductions Exactly! Had they made the announcement, other manufacturers would have been prepared for a clap back. But since Kia dropped this on everyone unannounced, the other guys are still trying to catch up. It’s a shame “but it’s still a Kia” prevented this masterpiece from selling as it deserves, therefore forcing its cancellation. Badge loyalists killed this car long before Kia did.
@@GodsloveMuzik I hate that people are so loyal to a certain brand that they don’t call a spade a spade and admit that Kia stingers are really one of the cars that can get down in a match up with the competition, especially tuned and with small upgrades it’s a monster I seen a few take on hellcats and beat them. But molar guys aren’t trying to hear that. Especially seeing that it’s a v6 vs a beefed up v8
The Stinger continues to shock me in these videos, mainly bc it's consistently keeping up with cars that (at least according to magazine test specs) run a half second and ~5mph quicker through the quarter mile. We're sure this Stinger is completely stock, right?
Man it’s because the other cars use a 1ft rollout and ideal temperatures and surface conditions. Not outright Lying but it’s always deceiving in a way/shape/form of a manufacturer makes a claim about their own vehicle.
I drive a 2003 Ford crown Victoria that I have built and I’m always getting looked at like I’m slow until im gapping. And it’s just 4.6 2v with cam intake injecters TB cold air intake headers cat back tune and 373 gears . Runs a 13.6 not fast but man it’s fun . Love the scat
My understanding is that the RWD isn't available in Canada so sadly we won't see it on this channel. I really want to see a RWD GT vs an AWD GT1 or GT2. The RWD GT has a solid weight advantage on the AWD, GT1, and GT2.
The Stinger and the 392 is the sexiest out of 3! Looks good performs awesome! In terms of sound gotta give props to Daytona! But the Mercedes 😂 why they keep getting round and round every year? Might as well put 4 wheels on an egg
@@zaid9988 you're obviously a brand fanboy from what you just typed. so, your opinion doesn't matter cuz you'll always choose your brand regardless of their cars' appearances. Me being nonpartial of brands in terms of appearances, i'll say stinger's the sexiest. next cls and last charger.
I have the latest 3.3 2023GT twin turbo Stinger and love it, I traded my 3.3 twin turbo 2018 stinger for it because I find it to be the perfect car for my needs, I also love the coast mode. Just as another comment I get 7.0 litres per 100 consistently, which for a powerful car is no mean feat. Sadly Kia have decided to discontinue with a winner. Peter T
The benz looked Iike a camera car on those roll races 😳. Dang, You sure that stinger is stock? Haha I'm not really a dodge fan but I figured the scat would at least pull off the roll races. Good job Kia I guess 👍
Like the vids keep them coming but please indicate the mods the cars have in the vid. Exhaust, Intake or Tune. That charger was modded, exhaust may not be much power but he may have an intake and tune or decatted. Please let us know the mods. Not trying to bash on you just would be good to know info.
The vehicles are stock unless otherwise stated. Sometimes he'll have the driver talk about the mods, or put it in the title. I'm the owner of that charger a mid delete does nothing for performance gains so it's not worth talking about. In the video where I raced against a tuned 2016 m3, it was clearly stated. Hope this clarifies things for you.
@@tommyteeth5874 yah, I am still waiting for him to reply with what mods he has ??? maybe he did somewhere in here, but not directly to me ? anyone see if Stinger dude mentioned if his is stock ? or Scat guy reply here if he's questioned it yet ??
Still loving my 2020 gt awd. Paid 36k when new. Takes some getting use to not having that good sound but I can hop in my gen 2 ⚡ when I want some nice muscle sounds. I always liked the Challenger but they, plus the Charger are boat's. I'm not talking about the weight. Stinger weighs a lot too, more the physical dimensions of them are HUGE. I might as well be a Lambo or something when parked next to a Charger/Challenger. Go look at the ol school models, they were bigger but they didn't sit up as high as a cuv. Even with their subpar interior (when compared to the Stinger) I may have considered one as an extra toy if they woulda made them low, flat, wide more like the original car. They do sound nice though. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a 2023 grand tourer model or the final tribute edition and keeping my gt as a daily. Those 2 along with maybe the GTS models are the ones I really like.
I wouldn’t go as far as to say the Stinger is ECU tuned, because those run mid to high 11’s, but I would be willing to bet this Stinger is running a piggyback. That is my take having owned one for over 2 years.
Those "skimmed" AMGs are pointless at least when compared to the" light " M cars from BMW, I'm an AMG fan by the way. An M550i x drive would demolish all 3 of them, it'll keep up with a hellcat even .
