In this video I share the information I received from @ButterDaInsider showing the different configurations for the new 2024 Dodge Daytona EV RT and Scat Pack. Follow me on Instagram, Tiktok, and Facebook at OCMotivator
The new Dodge Charger Daytona is the equivalent of vegetarians saying they're against meat but spend a fortune to have a heavily processed fake version of a steak.
Don't forget Stellantis plans to charge subscription fees for all kinds of items such as heated seats, and to unlock the full features and full capabilities of each model.
OMG! My 2011 Ford F150 XL weights 5000 lbs AND is towing this weekend a 1946 Desoto with 3800lbs curb weight and a 950lbs trailer! Just to understand how heavy these EVs are. Insane!
I don't have a dog in this fight, just sitting back with my old school mopars watching this Dodge slo-motion train wreck in progress. I can't look away, it's going to be an interesting summer!
Brakes won't be a problem with that thing. They are just going to be sitting on the dealer lot forever because no one is going to buy them. MGUY Australia just posted a report that only 9% of car buyers in America would consider buying an EV. Dodge dealers can't sell the cool stuff. What makes them think they are going to sell these ridiculous things?
They should’ve came up with names that will be relevant to STELLANTIS’ impact on the market. With a connection to electricity. How about the Dodge “Shocking Failure “.The Chrysler “Ohm my God”!As far as color choices how about “In the red”or Moribund maroon”or Gang Green”.
Three reasons why people purchase the current Chargers 1) Fleet sales base models 2) Big car and affordability 3) For the optional Hemi’s No one buys the car because of Stellantis Tech or it being a luxurious car. The new EV will not sell well at a high price point. A tech nerd will always opted for a Tesla.
Just want to give a big warning to my brotherhood about Arrigo sawgrass dealership. They are advertising challenger scat packs for 34k and claims up to 30k off of a challenger. Went and tried to get one and after pulling some classic stall tactics finally came back 2 hours into being at the dealership with an offer in the low 50’s. Basically about 7k below sticker 2 of which is the manufacturer rebate. Certainly not what they advertised. And btw most of their cars had noticeable scratches and gouges, not sure how that’s even possible? After they realized I wouldn’t take their deal the manger insulted me. Beware of them not good people.
Li-on is a heavy element. Dirty to mine. They produce a ton of C02 to make. Knackered tech. Has been since Panasonic made the first application 25 years ago. Its so insane that GM has trucks pushing 10K lbs with RV tires at 65 lbs psi. ludicrous. And still we have literally zero infrastructure. Did Dodge forget that little problem? 😵💫😵💫
@Benzley722 I guess the size of the battery cells is what produces so much weight. GM's full size EV truck has a 3K lb battery. That's allot of weight just for that.
I have a few points after watching your video. First off, the battery is 100kw. I believe I can speak on the topic as I have a 2021 Mustang GT and a 2020 Chevy Bolt. One of the key points to ask is what is the kwh rate on the battery. Understandably, the car is supposed to be a "sports car", but I suspect the kwh will be around 3-3.2kwh. That equates to 320 miles on a charge. Another point that needs to be made is the need to have a charger at home. If one plans on using Electrify America, based on where one lives, it could be in excess of $.36 per kwh to charge the car. If one does it at home, you are looking around $.12 off-peak. As far as the slowing off the car, I can speak to the bolt. It has a regenerative function that helps slow the car. Maybe this car has that.
OC Motivator Great Video I definitely agree that the All New Charger Daytona EV First Editions sound like they'll look pretty cool and I also agree Dodge will probably mark them up horribly
For you to say the weight is crazy. I believe it. Right now. I own a hybrid. I see the difference. I feel the difference when I turn the corner. The weight from the battery or the 2 engines is different. There's a lot to look At. My hybrid is a non plugi. Feel it's a lot better than a plug in for convenience. But they say it more power from a plug in. But we all know we're gonna plug And at. I was ready to buy my dream car. But as we all know Dodge, Buster, a lot of dreams.
I seem to have a thing for following automotive brands that are killed off by poor management. First Pontiac, now Mopar. It would be a miracle to see them survive this blunder. Thank God for used cars!
Thank you, brother for all the knowledge. I've been ghosting you for a little while, but I've been. Hit in the button. Lately. On April 1st, my mother's birthday usage. You are by a hornet, I cool I hope it's like a hemmy. But to me that's a joke. I've been wanting to buy a serious Dodge product for a long while. I see what was happening for the last 3 years. Crazy. I'm a type of person that looks In a value weights. Prices?
Great video, Who actually asked for an EV Dodge, where is the demand? The world is on its head. I'm not sure I blame Dodge though. This makes as about as much sense as everything else does nowadays.
The electric vehicles will nowadays are all built the same with very few changes from vehicle to vehicle all the parts are the same but for functionality of perhaps the heated seats will most likely cost a monthly fee to activate is what I am thinking they are moving towards
Stopping won't be an issue with braking. The motors on each wheel basically do all the work. There are alot of ppl with high mile Teslas that have never replaced their brakes.
Yes any EV should be renamed, the same way that Ford calls their four door EV “Mustang” 😖 Some people don’t like Challengers and Chargers because they are heavy. Now throw a battery in it. 😂 When I think of a practical EV, I think of a golf cart. A small city commuter or small delivery vehicle, but even a Tesla Plaid, no matter how fast it is, doesn’t embody the spirit of a “muscle car”.
As a Tesla owner, I would love to own a V8 Dodge product, their fantastic and the notion that Stellantis has figured out how to make a high-quality electric vehicle is absolutely nonsense. When the leading competitor Tesla knows what they’re doing with a lighter faster vehicle Model S & X PLAD’s new Dodge boat anchors wont sell well.
I can’t get over how heavy the new EV Charger is. Like this makes it undesirable even among only EVs for me. I forgive the Challenger for its weight because you do gain a lot more space and luxuries when compared to say a Camaro or Mustang. It’s just so much more nicer to live with. But almost 6000lbs is absolutely unacceptable for any car. A Trackhawk would be able to easily dust this new Charger and probably be also better to drive.
I know the weight sounds heavy but compared to highway bridge capacities it's not a big deal. Bridges are designed to hold 80,000 pound truck traffic all stacked up. Even at 6000 lbs. these cars really aren't all that heavy compared to that kind of weight.
All ya gotta do is perforate one of those cells and boom, instant fire. 2,000 degrees Celsius/3632 degrees Fahrenheit is what you get. The process is called thermal runaway. I remember the note 7 was not allowed on airplanes. Yet we got trucks with 3000 lb li-on battery cells. What could go wrong?
The electric chargers are merely built all electric at the moment to keep themselves from buying credits from Tesla but the ice versions will be coming soon enough they just relocated the charger build from one plant to another from what I heard
People are already rejecting battery cars and Stellantis is doubling down??!!! 😂😂😂 Apparently, the EPA fines of hundreds of millions they're already paying to Tesla isn't enough!!! 😂😂😂 Nothing like driving nails into the coffin with a pneumatic nail gun!!!😂😂😂🤣🤣👍👍👍
They use regen braking! Saving brake wear and impact and 100% they will smoke the ice r/t and scat packs 0-100. The r/t and scat pack ice 0-100 times are wildly exaggerated, they dont grip and launch in real driving settings always losing more than a second..
I am glad I have my 2022 Challenger Hellcat widebody. I have absolutely no interest in an EV muscle car or any other muscle car of any kind from Dodge or any other car manufacturer.
My guess for the starting price will be $59,995 for the regular RT no options. $65,995 for the scat pack no options. That’s my guess and I’m sticking into it, until the price is announced. What do I win? 😂🚗
I want to buy one v8 before they go and this crap electric comes out. What model year of the challenger scat pack is among the most reliable? I heard 2023 are having issues ?
April FOOLS No EVs in this garage Period Have my Keeper 22 Tor Red RT 6 speed BlackTop , Do I care the ev goes Faster? NO I do want 10 in wide Wheels in back with whatever Wide Tire will fit 325? Then when ready I'll bump the power with motor build first and after a Pro Charger. This is my Weekend perfect weather car ! We have a Impala that will be around another few years and by then Hopefully the Auto Industry will Pull their Head out of their 😂. But No EVs in this Garage. That's the Plan and no Adendom Prices Cars either. See Ya, Got the Pop Corn Popped and will have it while the SAGA continues! Keep us up to Date Brad with help from your Buddies!
I have driven sporty cars only all my life and I finally switched to a midsized SUV and immediately noticed how much more brake it takes to stop. (Went from vehicles weighing about 3000lb now to a car that is about 4300 pounds.) I can’t even imagine what it feels like to try and stop these small cars that are weighing as much as 1 Ton Heavy Duty Diesel truck.💀 The only upside which is still a downside is that there is going to be a V6 version released after the EV version is👌
What.. people thought that a car would be better at cpu software then a iPhone…. Yikes 😂😂😂 It’s going to be a sh!t show but a great comedy and I’ll have my popcorn ready 😂😂😂😂
It’s a shame because dodge as a company is being destroyed by stellantis, and it really isn’t a Dodge thing at this point. I think Tim’s pissed off about it
I mean out of all the naming schemes it’s the most clever at least. Dodge slapped on a lot of random names or turned valuable ones into appearance packages
People will buy this thing especially RU-vidrs and there going to tell you how good they are..mark my words, it’s all about views just like that stupid $100k cyber truck, very car YTB I follow purchased a cyber truck for views except you, TK, butters.
They can keep it. Unlike the ICE that can easily make over 2,000 Hp... The EV will have no such aftermarket support and even fewer people to service them.
not here because I'm excited about the new car. I'm here because I love drama and can't wait to see what they attempt next to try and sell us on this BS.
Oh how the mighty have fallen, but then most dodges are in the LKQ sooner than later, and in ten years all that will be left as a memory is the babied hellcats and high value cars that people take extra care of.
I do like the design of the car but I know I could not afford it. Not an EV person either and they will have issues. Top speed of these cars I could care less about as the speed limit is what it is. If I want a track car I'll go build one. As far as the priceing on these Chargers, Challenger's and Demons on the road I'd rather take that money and spend it on a fully restored mopar product from 1968/73 as some of these newer cars are getting to be a dime a dozen.
Imagine this in a perfect world... Dodge keeping their V8s with these improvements on their vehicles. THAT! will explain $70K or even $80K purchase, now come back to reality and let's sit down and enjoy their downfall.👌
Lol... these things are such a joke! As you're going through the list of features, all I can think is, "there's even more juice being sapped from the battery/range."
