Dodge Ram Dash Instrument Bezel Replacement and Dash Cover Install Part 2 

I was wondering what the longevity would be. I tried to make sure every area that had a bend or looked like it wanted to pull away would get glued, you can kind of dry fit and see where the edges want to walk away. My dash was almost completely gone, so anything would have been better I agree! A cloth cover would be nice as far as laying flat but wouldn't have added any structure to put anything on it probably would have just fallen into the metal frame under the leftover plastic peices on my dash! Thanks for the feedback. Longevity is very hard to test!

Just replace the whole damn dash

As long as the clip connectors on your existing dash aren't completely broken out the bezel clips right in, mind was missing a couple clips with the original bezel off I could see they were missing since they broke off with the cracked up dash, it's not loose but isn't clipped in in a couple spots. The dash cover itself didn't clip into anything, it just lays down and glued in with supplied adhesive over what's left of the old dash, which wasn't much, but it held on enough it is solid and thick enough to place items on the dash and it stayed in place, definitely a good option over paying Dodge $720 for the dash and $500 for the bezel! I did realize after tossing out the old bezel that this bezel did not include the vent louvers you can adjust the air left and right directions, I contacted the ebay seller about it but never got a reply.

@@ShawnMartinNCBIRDMAN i just purchased the dash and bezel for my 2000 dodge ram 1500 on ebay but the dash does not come with adhesive can you recommend one i can buy at home depot or tell me which one you used? Thanks.

@@johnnygallardo76 I don't recall the brand adhesive mine came with, it was a squeeze tube. A home improvement store or Amazon probably has something similar, you might even find reviews for a glue that says it is useful for a dash cover.

@@ShawnMartinNCBIRDMAN one more question how long did the adhesive take to dry?

@@johnnygallardo76 I set some sand bags on the spots that seemed like they would hold down the best and keep it from raising up and let it sit for 24 hours, I didn't move the sandbags until the next day about the same time I finished setting the adhesive the day before. Whatever adhesive you have will probably have a dry time then a full cure time. Go by full cure time.

The reason the dashes crack is because Dodge manufactures them using a poor quality resin. They don't have to issue a recall because it isn't considered a safety hazard. Dodge has known about this problem for decades, yet continues to sell trucks with the defective dashes because profits are more important than customer satisfaction.
