I replaced all the lines, calipers, pads, and cylinders last year in my jeep. Absolutely sucked. I hate drum brakes lmao. Would definitely recommend getting a drum brake tool whenever you work on them next. Theyre very useful.

I feel your pain. Chris Fix makes it look so easy. It usually takes me about 6 hours to do something Chris Fix does in about 30 minutes. Rewarding when finally get it done, but sure does get frustrating sometimes. Guess that is why God made beer.

Good job my man. Recomend "Chilton Parts Manual" I have one for every vehicle I've had.

I did my own drum brakes from looking at his video but my 1995 nissan pickup had a different set up for how things were on there and there were no videos about them so I had to just figure it out, I should have recorded it so other people could know but I had already put it everything in by the time I realized

I watch these new videos with a couple thoughts constantly running through my head. 1) I can't wait for this rig to be ready so you can go out on a trip and make a video. I'm also hoping you and Brandon manage to get together for some video out and about. 2) As someone who grew up on a farm, working on equipment, tinkering with my own vehicles, and does all my own auto work these videos give me anxiety, and I don't get anxiety. As I watch I wish it was real time and I could just call or text a tip that would simplify things. 3) I'm stoked that you are willing to make these videos and show that it is ok to not know what you're doing and learn it all. We were all there at some point, just some more early and some later in life. While I cringe a little I hope someone else is watching, learning, and getting the courage to tackle these things on their own as well. Now get it ready to go play on the trails!!!

you should fully compress the spring (from the side way) using the clamp instead and then it would be easier for the locking rod and plate to meet one another.

Handbrake is what it should be called

E-brake and emergency brake and parking brake is pretty much the same thing.

I hate drum brakes, last ones I did was my xj. Glad u have replaced wheel cylinders while you where there, I had to redo mine again bc they failed a year later lol. Absolutely hate those spring pins, ptsd when I watched this. Drain your diff and put new oil in if ur concerned, its easy

The thing about drum brakes it last longer than disc brakes can offer but if it to change everything on the inside its very time consuming even tho i've already done this like 5 years

Man you did great. Not everyone is mechanically gifted like Chris but you did pretty good. Take pictures,be patient, and take it one step at a time
