Does it work for Tana and PKM? Boox Tab Ultra C 

Do you use Notion as a web app? Or do you use the native Android version?

@@KeliFancher I use the app, and I disable Master Switch. That gives the best view for my use.

Do you have a Tab Ultra C? I did setup custom rendering for the built in browser (where I was using Tana). I got the page refresh down to where I liked it, though there were still latency issues which seemed more memory/cpu or even network-related. I could never dial in the color or saturation how I want, I was eventually able to get a very faint highlight around the #task tag - but it blew everything else out. No matter what reasonable setting I tried I couldn't get the checkboxes to render though.

@@KeliFancher you are very welcome, thank you for the reply and I would suggest you give the device a 2nd chanceif you feel like protecting your eyes or if they get tired from the iPad screens.

@@skipper63400 I definitely will, but if the performance issues I was seeing are caused by just using the native browser I'll still be disappointed in Boox. Just in a different way 😅

Yep, the Tab Ultra C is remarkably customizable. You can change refresh rates, color, and resolution for the device as a whole or on an app-by-app basis. What you see in this video are the settings that I found worked the best for each app, but even so they weren't perfect. Good point on the alternative browser, I didn't think to give that a try.

Someone could use the Tab Ultra C in the same way as any other tablet (or similar at least). The distraction-free aspect for me would be that this device would be for specific use cases only (Reader, Comics, Tana) and only setup to do those things. The cumbersome nature of it also lends itself to focusing, it's just too painful after using an iPad to really want to do anything else. As for Tana, nope definitely not beta. More like alpha 😅. It's still in invite only release, but it's really stable. At this point it's the core app for everything I do. Sure there are some pain points, but much less so than the system I was previously using.

Yeah, the return process is a nightmare! I guess we've been spoiled by Amazon and free returns, but 🤷‍♂️. I think at that cost it's better to try and sell it to someone for a small loss.

You are absolutely right, well at least with the current state of the tech (and the foreseeable future as far as I understand it). The main issues I ran into in regards to latency though felt more like memory/cpu issues as the reading apps were fine. It was just the more intensive Tana and web loading that was the problem.
