i think its because most women (especially housewives) are not earning . and they focus on getting the stuffs for the kids and never for themselves. rarely buy anything for themself. so when they receive a gift, its for them. and they feel appreciated. don't know about other girls. but this is my perspective on house wives appreciating gifts. (made this statement observing my mom. as she never buys anything for herself. but dad doesn't have give gifts 😵😵)

I am not saying ki it should be quantified in terms of monetary benefits but one should acknowledge his/her partner's importance in his/her life. That's all I want to say .
