I drive my 2019 Camaro year round, remove the 20 inch all season and just put on the 19 Blizzak winter tires and no issues driving in the snow. Now, I can understand parking the ZL1 for the winter but when I read that others say, my Camaro is garage till spring, making payments on a car for 4 or 5 months to sit. 5 years later that Camaro is still going to depreciate no differently then the ones driven in the snow.

@evilstevie1

The extra miles and salt rot that you will incur by driving the car in the winter will 100% affect the resale. Now obviously the only way to offset that is to buy a winter vehicle, which of course costs more money than you'll save. But if you already have a 4x4 truck anyway.....no reason to drive the Camaro at all when the roads are salty.

I don’t understand why people are saying you can’t drive that nice of a car in the snow. It’s a CAR, he pays for it, it’s his not yours, and cars are better in the snow and ice and much safer. They are more heavy and are much more even in weight. A truck is light in the back and heavy in the front which you can lose control much easier especially if there is ice on the road

I have a 2018 Camero with snow tires. It works passably in a few inches of snow. However, inclines are still a disaster. Even the slighting layer of ice makes it impossible to get up a modest hill. My degree of stubbornness overcomes my common sense. It's not meant for snow//ice/ or hills during winter, even with Snow/Ice mode.

The winters in PA is why I only own awd or 4wd vehicles. Got 2012 Audi S4 currently that I put snow tires on around November. That thing eats thru the snow on the way to take kids snowboarding lol I couldnt go back to two wheel drive again. Had Camaro before and winters sucked. Now I see we are getting a blizzard and we drive up to ski resort. AWD and snow tires are amazing.

I drove my mustang last winter I'm Buffalo and I had no problems Nd had to drive 30 mins a day to get to east Aurora NY which snows like every single day. Just gotta know how to drive the cars. But when it comes to Ice yea they don't work what so ever lol
@shawnmartin1306
@shawnmartin1306 5 лет назад
@@alexsein911 Once you go to awd you won't want to go back. I was actually going to get CTS-V instead of S4. Snow tires work good but I am glad I made the decision to go with s4. I agree NY gets pounded with snow. We were at Greek Peak resort last year from Christmas until right before new year. With wind chill it was -15 degrees. I would never own rwd or fwd vehicle up there. Yes I could get around in Camaro during winter but I could not have fun in it like Audi. Big difference between the two.
@alexsein911
@alexsein911 5 лет назад
I've only been to Greek twice and one of them was in February so yea they do get some pretty heavy snow. We get pounded badbly in Buffalo. But I'm trying to get a Cadillac CTS awd I'm the future. I just like mustangs so that's why I have mine. But I have a 2000 saturn LS for the winter for now. I've always driven fwd cars in winter. I learned how to drive in winter so that's why I could drive either or. But nice you have the problems with the audi?
@shawnmartin1306
@shawnmartin1306 5 лет назад
@@alexsein911 Most of the issues I had was because of all the work I had done to it. It has a leak that started today in flex pipe by header. That was after market though. List of issues Leak in rear seal that required rtv to reseal, cat delete pipe cracked and had to have seam re weiled and thats it. It has Apr ultra charger kit, under drive pulley, coilovers, higher dorameter adjustable control arms upper and lower, front and rear sway bars, cat delete off headers, down pipes, awe exhaust, apr intake, brembo big brake kit, x brace to stiffen frame, apr intercooler upgrade, digital gauge that also reads codes and shows all engine information, transmission tune, 93 tune for ultra charger, light weight wheels and I am sure I am forgetting stuff. So I can't blame Audi for the minor issues I have had. I literally have 5 boxes of s4 parts because they return the parts they remove. Other then that the only complaint is the plastic under engine cover. I lost this twice because the place I took to do oil change did not put all the locks back on. So now I make sure to let them know to have supervisor check they are secure each oil change. $146 for that stupid thing. I was on interstate and hit a cone they blew in the road. It knocked off the plastic piece on bottom right front bumper. $119 for that piece. The cost of Audi plastic is stupid priced but its higher quality then I can order offline. Had car for about 3 1/2 years. Got it with 45k on it and I am pushing 130k. So I cant complain too much. I think doing the preventative stuff helps a lot. Get oil changed every 5k, plugs every year, coolant, brake fluid and transmission fluids done each year too. Also had the intake carbon build up removed at 100k even though light never came on yet for it. I also use ethanol remover with each tank of gas. So that keeps everything inside clean too.

Very interesting, some of these comments....I had the 2017 Challenger GT for a few months before trading in for a 2016 Scat Pack Shaker 392. The GT, somehow, was ok for winter but the 392 comes out and it's OMG, IT'S GOING TO RUST AND DISAPPEAR AND DIE AND STUFF IF YOU DRIVE IN THE WINTER!!!! The only thing different about the two cars is the drive train. That's it. Sure, we get salt on the road here in Michigan but this isn't the 80's and cars don't rust to nothing in four hours of winter driving. I wash my car at least once a week in the winter, touch-less, with the under-body spray and it looks just fine. Now, the GT certainly handled a smidge better than the 392 but with a good set of snow tires and the immense bulk of the Challenger (it really is a pig at 4200 plus pounds...) it's one of the better winter drives I've had. And I doubt they put heated mirrors\seats\steering wheels in them for chilly California mornings. Speaking of California, don't they have salt in the air, all year round? If you want to keep your car in the garage in the winter, awesome, if you want to drive it in the winter, do it, it's your car have the fun you want to have with it!! I'm using Blizzak LM-32's on aftermarket wheels, runs like a champ in the winter. Drive that Camaro!!!! Or Corvette, or whatever.

1, Buy brand new winter tires. 2, add weights in the trunk on both sides of rear tires. 3, avoid hard accelerating when taking off in snow. 4, when you stuck, always reverse to get out, remember pushing won't work but pulling always work, rear wheels drive always pushing and front wheel drive always pulling so reverse to pull the car out when you driving a rear wheel drive vehicle.

I got caught in the snow once, I had to take my car to get it tuned and it’s like 2 hours away from me, so on the way back I’m like please don’t snow or rain then boom it starts snowing and that’s not good because I’m making mid 700s crank so I went slow asf the whole time lol I was pissed.

Thanks for the video. I Spend way too much for my '17 2ss to let it sit in my garage for days after a storm. Just got a new set of Blizzaks and looking forward to trying them out tonorrow. We are expecting about 2-5 inches tonight so it should be interesting.

I almost purchased a camaro but ended up getting a great deal on a 2019 Corvette GS and I also created a RU-vid channel to share my ownership experiences. My main concern is exactly what your video is about, I use it as my daily driver and I wonder if what you experienced in the video is going to be my experience....not that is snows a lot in North East Texas but we do get a dusting here and there. Thank you for making this video, looking forward to seeing more content from you. I just subbed

not bad i drive a charger hellcat here too, snow tires make it soo easy to drive. Last winter was the worst snow wise in years and i had no problem. I don't know about the camero but the hellcat has valet mode which limits it to 300hp and it is better then most front wheel drive cars

Would've been more informative if you hadn't driven the same path each time. Obviously traction is better over warmer tire tracks than a fresh haze of snow.

I had a 2010 Camaro, it was the 2LT so it was a v6, and it didn't have different modes like the newer ones, I lived up near Seattle and when it snowed, that car stayed put, it would just spin in place, granted I didn't have snow tires on it, but at the time had a 4 wheel drive Blazer. I plan to get a newer camaro because I miss mine so much, and currently live in Georgia but plan to move back up to Washington state where it's mountainy and snowing in the winter, so the gist of this is, with proper tires I could get back and forth to work and grocery shopping and such?

I have an SS with upgraded 6-pistons brembo on the front, they are even bigger Not all 18 inch wheels will fit. You can look at this thread I did in the past, you have pictures, the rim I used, etc. With a setup like that your camaro will drive just like any other car in snow. www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=469933 Here is a picture of the wheel: i.imgur.com/5uzNnM2.jpg

Correct, it limits your throttle output from the pedal once the wheels start to slip
