I don't like to remove the plastic door. That why tried the usb extension cable. For me it makes no sense that the extension cable doesn't work because its just a pass through of the usb connectors. And I did use an "quality" high speed cable what I normaly use for the "Ready For" function of my Motorola handset. I already had the idea that the mic adapter maybe trigger some hidden switch or something but I can't see any.

Hi bhutanity, as I don't have either a Zoom H1N or a Sennheiser XS-Lav USB-C microphone, I haven't been able to test either. Regarding the Sennheiser, I don't see why it should work when the noname USB-C lavalier microphone already didn't. And with the Zoom H1N, if I had one, I honestly don't know how to connect it? According to the technical specification, the Zoom H1N has neither a mic/line out connection nor Bluetooth. What you can do, of course, is record with the Zoom H1N and later overlay the Zoom H1N recording over the Ace Pro when editing. I have just quickly tried out a microphone. I have a CHERRY UM 9.0 PRO. But even that doesn't work when it's connected via USB-C.

@@tianonlyhi Tian, thanks for making that effort Appreciate it. Yeah zoom h1n overlay will be best and time consuming option.. lookalike I need to find ETM 001 or Boya M100 locally.

@@bhutanity If you have the time, go for the Zoom H1N. Because even the Ace Pro records in 32Bit - at least that's what the VLC player tells me when I look in the codec information, the sound is not that good at all. I used the same lavalier Mic on the Ace Pro with the adapter and on the Canon EOS M. And I have to say, I prefer the sound of the Canon over the Ace Pro recorded with the same mic. Okay, I have to admit that I was not in the same room when I recorded it. But having the mic on my shirt at the same position should not make that big different if a differt at all where I am standing. Maybe the sound processor of the Ace Pro isn't the best. But that need to be testet by a more sound savvy person than me. I just judge by my ears. But on the other hand, you can or really need to push up the gain of the sound recorded with the mic adapter on the Ace Pro. Maybe I 'm making the mistake of thinking a loud audio recording is a good recording. And damn, the recording on the Canon EOS M was so loud, a deaf person could have heard it😄

@@tianonly well thanks for sharing your insights. Never owned a Canon, u r lucky. Acepro needs to find it's soulmate mic. :D Basically, zoom h1n/h2n records natural sounds and conversations. Imagine the fun😊. Acepro records pretty good videos :) . Only thing I couldn't understand what shall be my first mic. A lav (with wire), or etm/boya-m100, or a lav (wireless) but to mount it that wud extra accessories don't have right now). Since zoom h1n alone won't be enough.

@@bhutanity you could also go for an bluetooth mic. Or bluetooth headphones with mic. MAybe not AirPods because as I recently learned they are widely know for not having the best mic. But that's just what I have heard. Don't hate on me if that is wrong and they have the best mic you can buy for money. And for wired or wireless. Depends on what you want to do. A wire can sometimes be bothering. On the otherhand, you get superior sound quality for small money if you buy a wired mic compared to a wireless. Or just try the build in mics of the Ace Pro first. I think they are quite good. And with the the three options (Stereo, Wind Reduction and ... I forgot what the third one was calles .. focus?) you get quite good sound out of the box

Mr Miyagi, what a honour😃 I just got your 3d printed close up lens filter adapter in the post two days ago😎 Maybe we'll be lucky and Insta360 will take pity on us and release the USB-C port for microphones with a future update.
