I've enjoyed your videos and ended up with these XE70 Pro APs. You talk a lot about wired and wireless backhaul. What happens if all three are connected to the same ethernet switch?
@danmikkelsen1093

I like this product for being a entry level version of the XE75 Pro. Maybe in the future TP Link should split there products up in the category of what kind of backhaul feature they are designed for. Like the triband products that are designed for wireless backhaul in mind etc. It will make it much more simple for us consumers to know what kind of mesh to use in the different situations (Wireless / Wired -backhaul and even POE / PowerLine setup etc.). BTW when are you going to review: BE75, BE16000, BE65 Pro/POE, BE25 ?

Excellent video. I would like to know if there is any difference with the XE75Pro or is it just a rebranding? Thx.

It's mostly the same but this xe70 Pro has a slightly slower speed rating.

the price and the AXE speed are a little lower but well will you notice?!

right now Amazon has XE200 for 430 and XE70 Pro at 300. which one would you recommend? XE70 is brand new and XE200 is almost at 2 years old. looking at the website spec sheet, to me, it looks like XE200 seems like way better product for only 130 dollar more. is there some spec/hardware upgrade on XE70 Pro that the site doesn't show that makes big difference?

Does TP Link offer an affordable mesh with the backhaul on an extra 5ghz channel. I'm looking for an upgrade to my AX4300 but I don't want backhaul on the 6ghz if possible. For those using 6ghz backhaul in solid wall houses, how far away before you see a drop off?
@landpet
@landpet 2 месяца назад
I can’t think of one right now. The be63 is amazing but costs more. 6GHz for backhaul has decent range though, my wireless backhaul tests are at 35 to 40 ft away with a couple walls in between.

In the wireless backhaul test, how far apart are the main and remote routers and are there any obstructions between them?
@landpet
@landpet 2 месяца назад
About 35 to 40 ft away with about 3 walls between.

do these have built in firewall capability? ie should my upstream fiber router remain in firewall mode? or should i change it to passthru mode?
@landpet
@landpet 2 месяца назад
Most if not every router has a firewall. Some off more protection than others but that doesn't mean 100% protection. I stick with the default settings and have some security protection on my machines as well for added protection. I try not to open ports and things of that nature and stick to known sites.

Have a quick question. I live in a 1400 sq ft home and I would love to get this mesh system. My wife and I plan to move into a bigger home in the coming years and are looking to get a system that we can use in our current home and are future bigger home once we start having a family. We don't see ourselves getting a home bigger than 5,000 sq ft and if I were to get a 2 pack Deco XE70 Pro from Amazon, would I just need to use 1 router for now and then use 2 when we upgrade into a bigger home down the road?
@landpet
@landpet 2 месяца назад
That can work or you could get something more powerful like the deco be63

I currently have the S4’s. Upgrade to this? Or xe75 pro? Seems like the S4’s are solid but my speeds as so so.

Up to you, XE75 pro had a tad better wireless backhaul speeds. Both good

I have a question. So I have been testing out my speeds for this router since I have had it for a couple weeks now. In the app, it shows that I have an option to set the 5 GHz band to a width of 80 or 160 MHz. Which width do you recommend?? I ask because I notice that my fastest speeds I can get with my ISP are in the 80 MHz width than the 160 MHz, even though it says that 160 MHz is recommended for better WiFi-performance. Like I have 1 Gig internet and I can only get like around 400 Mbps being around 5-10 ft away from router with the channel width as 160 MHz but when it’s on 80 MHz channel width, I can get around 700-800 Mbps on average. I do have QoS enabled but set the total bandwidth double of what my internet provider plan is. Should I shut this off?
@landpet
@landpet Месяц назад
Go with the faster speed, if that’s 80MHz for you then stick with that. Generally, 160MHz is going to give the better speeds but sometimes depending on your location, it gets congested and the router recommends the 80MHz instead. Even so with me, the 160MHz is the faster of the two choices.

I'm torn between the XE70 Pro and BE63. I have 1000 up/down from ISP. The house is multilevel and 4000 sq. ft with close to 50 connected devices (cameras, ipads, smart tvs, etc) - what would you recommend?

what about adding 2.5gb hub before deco for back haul to all 3?
@googlerwout3662
@googlerwout3662 19 дней назад
what will that do? Give all wired decos 2.5G speed? i mean you still need a second port for the internet uplink because i dont think the TP link can fix the IP/MAC adres routing correctly with 3 devices connected to the hub and 1 port to the internet modem on the same hub. but give it a try :)
