This was one of the first songs I ever heard by Dolby so to see a parody by his son is just classic! Especially since my sons are around the same age and make music too! Awesome!
Just got The Flat Earth lp in the mail today. Golden Age of Wireless should be here by Wednesday. I sold most of my albums about 6 years ago when I was trying to rid myself of my material possessions, which included my two Thomas Dolby albums. Now I'm getting them back (original pressings). The Golden one even has the golden promo stamp like my original did 🙂
*That was... ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!! Have always been a fan of the original song. Thomas, I still listen to the Howard The Duck soundtrack and I love The Mirror Song from "Toys". You sir were The Golden Age Of Genius! Love ya man!*
Insanely wonderful. From the wardrobe to the influx, seriously awesome. As a fan, I didn't think disrespectful because I do the same when I here his music. Just let it take over. :)
How does this not have more views?! I was fortunate enough to meet your dad when he came to RPI back in 1987(8?) and demo'd all the amazing things he could do with digital recording. Windpower with a chorus of "papadam". Brilliant. :)
So incredibly awesome. Thank you so much for posting this. I've always been a big Thomas Dolby fan and one on my older son's favorite songs is Europa and the pirate twins. (my younger son is autistic and his favorite song is Radio Silence). as a side note, I was also delighted to see Gary Numan incorporating his daughter into some of his latest works.
How great is it to have your kids do such an fantastic parody of one of your best songs? That must be an incredible feeling. Also, they need to make more music!
