Great looking product! I can’t believe they overlooked having a built in metal plate on the top of the go jug for the faucet to stick to. What a glaring oversight!
It's not a combo I would personally do - I guess that's why the metal plates are provided, so you can stick them anywhere & gives the individual the option. If you want to stick one on the Go Jug, you absolutely could! ~ Lauren
@@SnowysOutdoors it’s crystal clear they intend them to be used together. The jug has the built in connection for the faucet. The simple fact is they missed the boat not having a plate built in and ready for the faucet. In addition it’s not a good idea to screw one to the top of a plastic container.
Love these taps! I have a subaru camper. I keep my water jerry behind the front seat, and the tap at the back where my kitchen pullout is. I used 3m of hose and the tap still works perfectly.
For 10 years already, USB-C standard is available, yet the designers decided to go somewhere to the basement or after market, to dig-up some arcane micro USB connectors. Unbelievable, I have already tossed away all micro-USB cables. What a let-down. 😞
@@SnowysOutdoors In an IT world, 10 years of ignoring new standards, needs to be called archaic. It definitely needs to be reflected in product reviews. And to be honest, just go and read Dometic video reactions - out of 10 reactions something like 6-7 complaint about the lack of USB-C. Users actually do care about interoperability and simplyfying their lives. I have e.g. returned my family bikes lights, as local dealer deleted Micro-USB from the specs - not willing to tolerate this stuff further.
This is such a terrific product. ❤❤👍👍 Just what I need. I was just looking at one of those 12V all-in-one portable water pump in a pack. But they're bulky and weigh more. I don't have any more room in my 4WD nor need extra weight. So glad I didn't buy one yet. But this portable tap is compact & lightweight. Perfect to use with my 20L jerrycan, anywhere.👌 Quick question, if the hose is extended (so that it'll reach the bottom of a 20L jerrycan) will this impact it's performance (ie. pressure)?
@@megkav2921 is the diameter of the hose that comes with this tap the same as your 3m extension? I want to run it from a water bladder in my 4WD but it uses standard garden hose size/ drinking water quality hose...not sure of actual diameter but looks bigger than what's included with this hose kit. Thanks.
Noooo!! More gear to bring with me. But I'm happy to make an exemption for this tap. I can see this being well utilised on my camping trips.👍 But sadly it seems I'm too slow. You guys are now out of stock.😟 BTW, do you know if Dometic is planning to release a 20L Water Jug? 11L is not enough volume for my needs.
Would love a video on the charging process. What brick do you use? How long does it take? How do I know of it is charging and/or when it is finished charging? How go I know when the battery is low? I can’t find this info anywhere.
I've just uploaded the user manual to our product page here - www.snowys.com.au/go-hydration-water-faucet. It shows what the lights mean but it's not easy to interpret, and I haven't personally charged it to see what the lights mean. I am hoping it makes more sense once you watch the device go through a full discharge and recharge cycle. ~ Ben
It's about 5mm internally and the connection at the back is about 6mm diameter. It's a flexible silicone hose though so it will stretch over varying sizes. ~ Ben
It's about 5-6 mm diameter. Check out the Q&A's on our website here, some other users have found longer hoses that work - www.snowys.com.au/go-hydration-water-faucet. ~ Ben
I'm not sure how much you could extend it before performance is impacted, but I'm sure you could give it a go. I don't know what the official measurement of the hose is but it's about 5mm diameter. ~ Ben
Hi Ben, I love this product how do you think it would go with hot water? I’ve got a camper trailer and I’m sick of carrying hot water from the stove over to the sink to wash the dishes. Regards Jamie
Depending on the temperature the unit would likely fare ok but it could soften the hose and result in it coming off, so just wrap a cable tie around the end of the hose where it slips on to the nub on the unit. Wouldn't run super hot water through it for long just to be gentle on the electrics.
It can happen with a range of food safe plastic water recepticles, and depends on the person wether or not its an issue. In this case its the hose - try bicarb and lemon, or raspberry cordial. Water might taste faintly of cordial for a use or two after, but will go away. ~ Lauren
It's not quiet, but I wouldn't say it was offensive. It's certainly not as loud as a lot of 12V water pumps that I 've heard buzzing away in a campsite. ~ Ben
I've been using a similar version of this in my camping setup, any ideas how to clean and sanitize the faucet and hose between uses? My hose got funky (mildew?) and I'm sure the faucet has as well. Thanks 👍
Good question, the best answer is to always store them dry, but if you do get mildew inside then you can probably use a product like this and continually cycle the treated water through the tap for a while. www.snowys.com.au/bottle-bright-12-tablets. ~ Ben
USB C is becoming more common, but there are still legacy products in the market that use micro USB, we are kind of in the middle of the transition. ~ Ben
@@SnowysOutdoors i understand there are legacy products. There will always be legacy products that survived the years. But to make NEW products with legacy connectors is just tragic. My phones have had usb-c since 2019...no reason this should have had it but hindsight is 2020 and i bet they wont make that mistake twice.
@Rossi 21 well it depends on the suction side of the pump, i.e its suction head. Such a small pump with 1 Liter a minute can't suck water from an infinite depth.
@Rossi 21 I just don't know why they don't provide the information. Most pump suppliers do. I guess it is aimed at a very specific customer who is willing to pay over $200 for a 1 litre per Min pump and a 11litre jug combo. Far better solutions out there
@Rossi 21 @Rossi 21 I have read his comment. I was responding to your 10cm comment. There is no need to get arky, I am interested in all thing a camping, and never forget these are ads, so it is good to have a dialogue about new equipment especially for those new to camping. 1l/min is very slow, that's 15sec to fill a 250ml glass, it's good for people understand this, and that quoted figure is probably ideal conditions. My comments aren't meant to be inflammatory, I'd appreciate you respond accordingly.
my dometic go gas an awful plastic taste to the water. No way I am the only one who is experiencing this so very odd that no youtube reviews discuss this. have contacted Dometic but still waiting on replyhave contacted Dometic but still waiting on reply
That is a strange one, I've not heard of this before from this tap. Given the water passes through it quickly I wonder if the taste is coming from the water storage vessel rather than the tap? ~ Ben
Micro USB get's a bad wrap, I agree that they may not be as good as their bigger cousin, the USB-C, but there's still plenty of them getting around, and they do the job. ~ Ben
@@SnowysOutdoors It gets a bad rap because it’s old technology. It’s a pity that Dometic thought of every detail but whiffed it big time with this archaic technological detail.
@@SnowysOutdoors No there are not if you eliminate Chinese crap electronics. It’s 2022 USB-C should be the standard especially when Dometic is charging a significant premium over a myriad of $20 Chinese faucets that do the exact same thing.
