The best source of information on the subject I've seen so far. One thing missing here is "dual residency". For example: a vehicle is registered in one state but health insurance in another.
I'm in NC and will soon sell my house to be full time. I want to use Tennessee as my domicile but no one talks about that or seems to have a good Mail service for Tennessee address. I don't know if I can stay in Tennessee in and RV park and get domicile there or really anything about it. Everything seems geared to SD, FLA, and TX and I will never visit any of those states...
Excellent video thank you! I've been down a long rabbit hole in searching the best income tax free states side by side. My top priorities are no income tax, no retirement tax (I have a 401k), no requirement to be physically present in state for long, no vehicle emissions or safety inspections. I'm particularly interested in FL and TN. Can you offer any spreadsheets you may have showing a side by side state comparison as I'm sure you created at some point? Or any websites that you found very good at what I'm after? PLEASE SHARE YOUR HELP AND WISDOM AS I REALLY NEED IT!!!
I want to keep my domicile in the state I lived in but sold my home there. My doctor, dentist, one of my banks, my drivers license, insurance and vehicles are registered there but I don’t have a physical address there. Will a post office box work?
Hi there! A P.O. Box will work for receiving mail, but you'll find that some financial institutions and other companies will not accept that as your primary/residential address. We, and the attorneys we refer our members to, typically suggest using the address of a friend or family member (with permission!), or a mail-forwarding service, to answer the need for a residential address.
