Dominator Xtreme Winch Regreasing - //Unboxing and also Clutch rotation// 

Wish I saw this video before I installed mine. Haven't needed to use it yet but now I think I should take it out and regrease it. Good video mate 👍

Great video mate - never fitted a winch before so your video was a big help geting it into my 2013 DMax - I bought the extreme version and regreased it before installation as you suggested, unlike your Prado install video I had to cut some steel panelling inside the plastic bumper and some of the plastic bumper which held iup the job - very informative, well done and thanks for posting.

Thanks mate, I bought the winch and found your video. follow the instructions and regreased with nulon grease. gears were dry as from factory, now runs perfect.

Great video! I followed the instructions but now it seems the clutch doesn’t want to engage. Free spool is fine. Any ideas on what might be wrong?

shit, i cant post piccies, but, hey, make sure you pull the motor housing apart and seal the fkn thing properly. i now have a 2 and a bit yr old winch that is nothing short of a rusted heap of metal and corroded aluminum. the winch gear box is fine, the winch seals are fine, the winch barrel and rope are fine. the motor itself, wow. fully corroded and the Super center says, its outta warrenty, so no call backs. the winch was installed as a back up to a road trip for just in case situation. It was never used in anger, never used in any way. it sits on a 120Prado, so you who know them , know the winch sits in behind the bonnet. i decided to do a full Intake refurb, delete certain things and put a turbo boost t in, thats when i found out there were issues. SO, my take on a Dominan8r Xtreme Winch, and the support im getting from the supplier is somewhat shitty. Take care of what you pay for..

Would it be crazy to run silicone outside it to prevent water ingress or am I over thinking it?

The first release of these Xtreme winches only allowed you turn the clutch housing 180 degrees ( quite a large oversight), but thankfully in March 2020 they changed them so you can spin the clutch housing to any position. Also to answer Alan B's question if you have that hole with no bolt in your winch, then you have the later model with the redesigned clutch housing. That bolt-less hole is meant to be there.

Is there such thing as too much grease?

mmm spend the extra would be my advice on anything from Kings, cheap and no quality. if you buy something but then have to strip it down to re grease it or modify it, THAT alone should tell you all you need to know. Buy once buy right👊

pay that little bit more and get a quality winch. its worth it in the long run. don't get a Dominator Winch.
