As an animated designs fan,a lot of toys were unique and accurate to the show, and the idea of ultra magnus being a leader for cybertron in animated, its just unique and cool, this is probably the best ultra magnus ever after the combiner wars and the iron factory, wfc siege-kingdom ultra magnus,i wish if a lot of modern transformers were as solid as animated and siege etc....
At first I was skeptical about some of stuff about animated, like the art style, the cybertronian culture etc, but it was amazing how they made all of that work. It all just works. Not everything was perfect of course but damn it was close.
I've had this Ultra Magnus since it came out. My fondest memory of it was playing it with my grandfather before he passed away a few months later. Great review, and happy to see you collect Animated figures!
The HAMMER is what made Ultra Magnus in Animated, probably settin' him up to just be that guy with the hammer. Notice how some subsequent figures would attempt to incorporate it (largely Transformers Prime: Beast Hunters & Combiner Wars/Transformers Legends)...😎😎😎😎😎
Given how they've treated the Prime version of Bulkhead, I wouldn't hold my breath. Most of the Animated designs were stylized versions of G1 and since legacy is about G1ing figures, they'd just be the G1 figures I'm guessing.
I absolutely love majority of the animated figures! You definitely need to get Leader Megatron, it doesn’t matter which version you get just get one if you can!
These animated figures are incredible. They have a sort of Rodger Rabbit effect. It’s a term Jobbythehong came up with. The idea is a figure looks so good that it actually looks like an actual cgi model is in front of you.
God I’ve always wanted this figure, my middle name is Magnus so ultra Magnus has always been one of my favorite characters and growing up with animated made this guy so memorable
Fun fact: I found this figure from a kid in summer school and he wasn't around I wanted transform it so I did from robot to car mode 100 percent I was so proud of myself. I'm a definitive pro fan of transformers just wish I had that toy
This was actually my very first leader class figure and i still love it today, oh and those panel in vehicle mode are loose out of the box so that isnt an age thing
To stand him straight you can move his legs one click forward so that he’s looking down, then fold the feet down a little so they’re pointing at a downward angle. Then he stands nice and straight, but as a result his feet look weird. Not noticeable in a display.
It's funny. I never actually watched Animated as a kid (I was to obsessed with the movies and I think I somehow didn't even know the show existed until it ended), but I did own this toy and still have it, it's missing a few parts and his hammer, but otherwise everything else is intact. I also never knew you could rotate the head until now after watching this so I don't think I played with it that much. I also remember I would transform it incorrectly because I didn't know how to tab the front wheels into the front.
The plastic is really good on those animated toys, they literally age like bricks. All my childhood toys are still lying around the house pretty much intact. Despite having two younger brothers who play with them all the time.
It would've been cool to have this design on Optimus , similar to how Transformers Prime Optimus got remade for example , and it wouldn't have been out of place considering Animated got multiple characters with the same design (BB and Whasp or Ratchet and Ironhide)
Hopefully legacy graces us with transformers animated remakes because i miss my old animated prime as well as looking for a replacement for my og ratchet
Oh... Mine plays the shooting (?) noises but pressing the chest button does nothing :( I am trying to figure out if I can open this guy and look inside...
@@ThatToyGuyyeah. Tbh I would have preferred a Megatron so I could have some opposition against the legacy Optimus and bumblebee but hey I’ll take what I can get
finding parts for transformers sucks, been hoping to find a gun for cybertron prime for a while now, luckily some parts are in ready supply like RID Megatron feet covers since someone apparently decided that was something they could 3d print and sell, hope you can find a nice hammer for your Ultra Magnus
Poor animated, fans haven't gotten anything for a long time. The toys are very expensive now, Swindle is guaranteed to break, Derrick J Wyatt died, no 10th anniversary, nothing in legacy, it just sucks seeing this amazing show and toyline being ignored and bad things keep happening.
Transformers: Animated was my introduction to transformers, I'll never forget rewatching the crap out of the Megatron revival episode and the one where Soundwave took control of the Autobots. This video makes me wanna go back and relive my childhood by getting more animated toys
My version is worn but still works, i dont have a lot of animated i ony got ratchet, lockdown, jetfire an jetstorm. But tey broke so im trying to fix :( , an the black starscream, an sentnal prime. Im trying to restore them
My gut reaction to people watching the Bayformers movies at a young, tender age is usually that of shock, but then I remember I was also 8-9 when I had first watched Terminator 1-2 or the Tim Burton Batman movies. Trying to get away with watching age inappropriate movie is typical kids hijinks.
It is, we just had an issue recently where someone was recording voice calls without others consent so I closed all the links for now. They should be back up soon tho
