For those who don't understand why this man is emotional let me explain why. Back then gangs were not gangs per say, they were organizations, that's the difference between say like California and some other places. They started off as neighborhood protection, against outsiders and the police that came into the neighborhood and took liberties against us. Like he said they fought other organizations but the key word is fought. Very seldom did it turn to gun play. And the organization leadership respected each other because the enemy was common, poverty, racism, police and politics that rendered us as targets. Same as the black panthers. J. Edgar Hoover one wrote in the FBI memo that they must discredit neutralize and or kill all black leader, organizers and Messiahs. Realize, the free lunch programs in the inner cities were started by the so called gangs and the community leadership, not the government. So that was a problem. When ms. Johnson or whoever welfare check was cut off because she may have had a the children's father trying to be in their lives it was the "gangs" that helped to feed the family until the dad could find work. I remember my mom telling me how the had to hide their television whenever the welfare worker would come to the house because they weren't permitted to have such luxuries. And as far as the drugs goes, the FBI in it's efforts to neutralize the gangs as with the panthers flooded the black community with heroin and cocaine, and where as a lot of people resisted, you give a broken man anything that's seen as a "way out" sooner or later he can't resist. But the propaganda about selling drugs to kids, I never seen that and in fact it was in many of the gangs policies that was a big NO NO. But that's what you heard on the news. Flash forward to the 90s, these different organizations started getting politically active and started to come together to put people in office that had our communities in mind and the music reflected this, the way we dressed reflected this, the way we spoke to each other (brother, sister) reflected this. This was a problem with the powers that be because you have to understand, these people felt like if we had any type of growth or upper hand that we would turn the tables and treat them like they have treated us. So to further the mission that has been in place since slavery they divided us more to conquer us further. See y'all don't know, in prisons in Illinois, all organizations had representation at on the board. That in itself screams of unity. So when hoover came up with 20th century vote, the powers that be once again in it's efforts to neutralize our efforts, they scooped up all the leadership and charged them under the RICO act. Left the shorties out here with no leadership to fuck up under the name of these specific organizations and promoted the propaganda that those leaders were responsible for the ensuing bloodshed. Gangster Disciples became Growth and Development and that was a big problem to the people who has forever been trying to stunt our growth and development. See Don Dirky knew what was supposed to have been for black people period and it hurts him to see where we are as a people because the organization problems are just a microcosm of black people problems. So if you're on here talking about screw him, then you are part of the group of people who is a victim and perpetuater of the bigger divide and conquer issue
