Don Harryman -- A Personal Story of Gay Aversion Therapy at BYU

Don Harryman describes his experience of gay aversion therapy at BYU and his eventual acceptance of his sexuality.
Don Harryman went through Aversion Therapy at BYU in 1972, in an attempt to change his sexual orientation from homosexual to heterosexual. Don considered then that "the burns on my arms and the emotional trauma I experienced seemed to me the price that I had to pay for change". After Don left BYU, he eventually accepted his homosexuality. Through the help of friends, Don eventually realized that "that accepting my homosexuality did not preclude me from having a life filled with useful work and rich, loving friendships."
Don speaks about his experiences and offers his views on the changes underway within Mormonism.
