I was born in good old Nova Scotia and believe me there was no better way to spend an evening than dancing to fiddle music at the local Legion hall or country schoolhouse. That was when dancing was fun and intimate.
I grew up with this. My Grandma loved this and I, like my Grandpa whom I never knew, play the fiddle and absolutely love this kind of music. The Irish Block continues on.
Barry, Thanks for posting this. I had the honor of playing for your dad in the Valley back in the 70s with Dawson Girdwood...Graham Townsend...all these guys were legendary.
I suffered through parts of the show while waiting for a regular date alot; when invited inside the living room while her dad was watching the show and did not want to appear rude by waiting outside.
Does anyone know where I can watch footage of Katherine MacKinnon singing, Sailor Boy on Board the Bonaventure in 1964-65? ... I was the sailor boy she sang to.
Mr. Gilchrist, if you have control of this video...would you please take off all those horrible messages...or totally delete the video all together. I am horrified that the memory of my mother (Marg Osburne) is in the mixed of this. Please take care of this. Thank you.
