Don't be Fooled, Rayman Legends is Basically the Same on Switch as Wii U 

Just to be double-super-safety clear, Murfy's Touch is a new section where you play the touch-screen specific segments from the Wii U version, it's not new content. I realise I didn't make that absolutely clear in the vid, sorry! Please forgive me.

Never bought this game before, so I'm going to buy it on Switch

I never played Ray Man Legends on the Wii U, and I used to love playing Ray Man on my Game boy, so I want to get back into it! Good idea?

I've purchased this game on the Wii U AND the PS4... Great game if you've never played it, but not worth buying a third time... heck, a second time too.

Rayman Legends, Skyrim, Lego City Undercover are all the same game, but it annoys me that people complain about its release like its 100% certain that everyone has already played these games. Plus the games are all portable. No one complains when a vita or 3ds version if a game comes out so why is it a big issue that these wii u games are getting the portable treatment? Hell, even Mario Kart 8 dx and Pokken Tournament are pretty much the same game. In short, if you had a Wii U and you already bought the above games, these releases aren't aimed at you.

I've never had the Wii U version of this, so that's why I'm getting it for the Switch when it comes out.

I think they should have released Origins with Legends together.

Hey Alex, I recieved my copy three weeks prior release. The game also features all the pre-order skins for every single console. Also, features Champion Ray which was given out to selected Playstation 4 players who were competitive in the challenges regularly and posted on social media platforms.

It doesn't really need the "definitive edition" in the name

No one thought it was new content? It's just all the features from each version, the touch and the King Foot tournaments, plus Mario skins. I'm getting it for $30, and got it for free on Xbox one, so this is supporting Ubisoft for their great Switch titles.

im just wondering if therell be a way to transfer your stats from the daily/ weekly challenges like you could do for the pre launch app to the full game

I still think the Wii U version is the superior version, seeing as the game was actually designed for it in the first place.

So how do you do the murfy levels 2 player if you can't display stuff on the tv screen and switch (Wii u gamepad) screen at the same time

So is there a wireless local multiplayer?That ( I mean the asymmetric touch screen co-op is AMAZING ) would make it definite and basically the same as on Wii U.

Having not played the game on Wii U, this is great for me. Also, I can take it anywhere I want, which is perfect for platformers, so all the more reason to get the Switch version.

The Wii U version is the definitive version... 5 player multiplayer with one person as Murphy is awesome and unfortunately can't really be replicated on any other console.

£25 is *not* a bargain basement price. I picked this up on PC a while back for around £10.

Didn't expect anything more than that. And you know what? That perfectly fine with me. Sure, extra content would be good. But The game is fantastic, so I wouldn't want anything less.

The Digital Foundry video actually mentions the longer loading times, and the lack of 5 player and asymmetric multiplayer. How are we to be expect change or patches from developers if reviewers don't mention these things?

I think the split joycon multiplayer is also pretty nifty. Means you can take it anywhere and play with a friend!

It's a multiplat, so it's find if it's the same. It's still an amazing game and makes the Switch library that much better

A difference that people may not know is that the challenge mode with Murphy’s dungeon on Wii u you have to use the touch screen to guide the bot or another player as far as you can in distance but on switch if you are in handheld mode on switch you are forced to use the A button to command Murphy I find this really upsetting cus I love the touch screen for this game but while using the A button I’ve found out that Murphy is distracted by a another object so Murphy won’t move the object in front of the player but yeah and also I can’t use Murphy in any other level on switch and no I’m not counting the Murphy glitch in 1-1

And how do we do multiplayer like on Wii U or Vita where one person controls Murphy and the other controls the character?

Planing on getting this version since I couldn't get the Wii U version.

Why are there 826 teensies to save instead of the original 700? Am I missing something here? Aren't the "Murphy's Touch" levels just old levels moved to a new section?

Is a 2D animated game. What you thought was gonna change remotely about it. Basically playing the PC, Xbox, PS4 version. I knew that when they announced this game.

Hated this game back on Wii U, having control of rayman ripped away from me so i can play cut the rope while the CPU has all the fun platforming made that version a complete flop for me. In this version, Murphy snaps rather responsively to obstacles and can do their interaction with a single A-press, allowing ME, the fucking PLAYER, to continue controlling Rayman. Auto-scrolling CPU sections on Wii U turn into highspeed multitasking gauntlets on switch. Its exhilerating and a total upgrade from the way this game played on Wii U (in singleplayer anyways). And the physical cart is cheap as shit secondhand, i got mine for under 20$ shipped. It even goes down to like 8$ digitally. The art and level design are increible and Rayman is a ton of fun to control. Cant recommend the switch version of this game enough

Oh but there is something new about it: the option to play it on the go. In which imo, Switch looks like the best platform for it.

I never played the Wii U version, tried the demo alone, and it wasn all that. Then i gave it a try in Co-op, and the game is just so much more fun in co-op. Might have to grab this afterall.

Even if it's the same, my Wii U copy was stolen, starting the era of me digitally buying all games I own. So, I got this for switch finding out that since it has been a while since I played it on Wii U, I forgot most details of the levels. Works for me.

Well I bought it for the vita and it died before I completed it and the 3ds didn't have it so I preordered the physical version for the switch.

Well, that's disappointing to hear, but since I probably won't be busting out my Wii U anytime soon, I'll at least be able to play this on a system I actually use (and with button controls for Murfy).

This game defiantly worth the price, So many levels and so much fun. I had it on PC so I never got to try the Touch challenges so this is gonna be a fun way to experience it. There is the Vita version too. But this one has much better display, Plus I can play it on my TV I look forward to that as well. I could care less about Kung Foot lol.

It was pretty obvious this was going to be pretty much the exact same game. Rayman Legends is basically the modern James Pond 2: Robocod in that it gets ported to every console capable of running it for the next decade or two. Which is fine, it's a great game and if someone hasn't played it before I'd happily recommend it. But it's not one to double-dip on.

Wow they could have just made this port and put it as a launching title but they probably wanted to polish it

Plus. 3v3 even though you can only put 4 remotes isn't an issue? You can just like play with a friend. Remember it's a portable system.

I never got Rayman Legends to begin with, my last Rayman game I got was Origins. This would be great to reintroduce me to the franchise.

How is this guy making any kind of video about a game he doesn't know about. After every statement he would say he wasn't sure.

For truckers that practically live in their trucks, the portability of the Switch version is a major difference. Same for those of us who are constantly deployed to locations due to our jobs where regular consoles are not feasible.

I remember really looking forward to this game on the Wii U. I was going to buy it with the console on release. Then they delayed it, even though it was done, just for the sake of cross-platform release. This is one of the few times in my life I've chosen to not get a game a want on principle. I know it sounds childish, but I will never forgive that betrayal.

Why does it matter? Less people have Wii Us anyway...

I've 100% the switch version. its the same (minus a few color changes and extra details on a few costumes). they added 12 new lucky tickets, but didn't add any new prizes for you to unlock , so the new tickets just aren't accessible. you cant scratch them off.

You know what other Ubisoft game could be on Switch? Assassin's Creed Origins!

The Switch version runs at 1080p whereas the Wii U version is 720p. The Switch version is the same as the PS4/Xbox One version, but it has the Wii U features and the one or two extra Switch features.... aka The Definitive Edition.

They should've remade Rayman Origins too and sold it with Rayman Legends as £45 two pack for the Switch. Would've been much better.

So basically if we don't buy a game again that we've already bought for one or more other platforms and completed already, then Ubisoft will probably limit their Switch output? That's what this seems like to me. :(

Some people like this game. Why? because they haven't played it back on the Wii U that means even if its the same game, they wouldn't know the difference until someone tells them. ((this includes me) all the games that have a deluxe or definitive edition on Switch as well)

My backlog includes: Snipperclips Overcooked Mario + Rabbids Jackbox Party Packs Lego Worlds and a ton of 3ds games like Link between worlds Pokemon Sun/Moon Triforce heroes insert dozens of virtual console games Luigi's mansion Dark moon. Star fox 64 3d and that's just Nintendo games.
