It can be tough, like you said depending on what state you're in can be a bit hopeless. I'm currently in my 12th year as an Electrician/Electrical Engineer and I'm doing pretty good as an independent electrician in the Maryland, DC - Virginia region but when I tried in New Jersey it felt impossible to succeed. Great video.

I know money is going to be tight, but it's a catch 22. You need to do a few things right out the gate. Here is what I recommend 1. Coaching call to get your pricing straight. Otherwise, everything else won't really matter if you don't charge correctly. 2. Marketing course. If you do this before you schedule coaching, I'll spend 30 min getting you your first great clients. I will literally make the calls for you 3. Make sure your insurances are in place. Use my link to get a quote from NEXT Insurance. Choose minimums to start out. Vendors may ask to get higher limits, but only after we know they will work with you. After your first few thousand dollar checks we'll see which direction you should go.

Yup 4 years of documented payroll hours! However getting the c-10 is easier then staying in business unfortunately. The trade is only 50% of the business. Sales, bidding, accounting, employees....goes on and on!

Hi, would you set up an LLC, S-Corp or C-corp? I'm starting a partnership to do an electrical service business, start out just me and my partner and we may hire on 1 to 3 people. If you already have a video on this can you please point me to it, I tried searching but no luck. Thanks for the help and love the channel! Thanks again Bud!
@The360Electrician
@The360Electrician Год назад
Hey Ryan, you really need to consult an accountant for this. I have an LLC and an S-corp on my companies. Both do diffrent things. Also depends on your state. When going into business with a partner, always talk about the worst case senario's, pray they don't happen but have everything in writing. I have even gone as far as getting life insurance on a partner to buy out the Wife if anyting were to happen to them, and vise versa. Lot's to unpack. Maybe a good idea to put out a video. Thanks for the support!

That’s a lot to chew on. But look. You can’t be fully ready. No entrepreneur/business owner read a book, took a test and made a self-sufficient company in a year or even 5-10 years for that matter. They didn’t even master their craft. You will literally learn this stuff as you go. Marketing and sales will come as you go. Hire independent contractors if you can’t afford full time employees. Use thumbtack, Tasker, handy. Until you’re able to generate your own leads. Yes everything he said is true. But figure it out as you go. Bills will get high but continue to tweak your business until you can float again. You may get sued and go out of business. Open another LLC. Life isn’t a multiple choice answer(in most cases). And if you choose the wrong letter you fail. Life is totally about failing and tweaking the little stuff along the way. You got this. It’s fun. It’s just serious. But You got this!

Would love to learn more and get better, but every where I’ve ever turned to other contractors no one ever willing to give any tips or teach anything that’s why I’m super skeptical someone is willing to give away secrets and help without selling them anything?
