Same here I bought my Fireteam on that last Christmas sale they had on it for $399 and the only thing I replaced on it is the servo and servo saver. I would say it’s in my top 3 RC’s to date. I do plan on doing a full build on it just because I like the platform that much.
Oh! The title is a little misleading because it can be read a two ways. The way you meant, "I don't bother with the fireteam" because it's so durable and reliable. and the way i read it "dont bother with the fireteam" because it's not worth it. Our language is so clumsy in that sense. hahaha.. I'm super upset i missed out on the firetem deals.
Surely the deals will come up again! But then after seeing deals like that its harder to justify full price with just anything hey lol thanks for watching bro!
Use a Q-tip and Vaseline, and touch all of the screws with the Vaseline to protect them from being exposed to the elements and it should prevent the rusting
Good breakdown man 👍 My #1 go to for large areas' with a lot of mud n crud. I drive mine like a lunatic but the most jumping i do is only around 6ft, ( we got a couple bush tracks ) These cars are meant to be driven hard and i mean hard. We race them against each other in the most horrid places and they literally take a flogging. Anyone can learn to land extreme jumps with some training, This is not where this car shines even though it certainly can. However if you're into thrashing the shit out of a large 4x4 DRIVING with ya mates in any terrain or conditions, don't even bother stressin about buying anything else.Just get one, and DRIVE it hard. For those who prefer to see how long it can take you to wreck an RC, Go and have a look at Talbot's video on this.. no shit, he is purposely trying to kill one but he gives up. Thats not to say they are unbreakable of course. Now..If you have just bought one or about to, Order the premium RUBBER sealed wheel bearings, wack em in and you're good to go. Honestly, I thrash this thing on 100c Gensace Adavance hard packs most days/nights of the week and the only thing thats happened is my ego has been humbled, in a good way.... So to sum it up, Take it easy on yerself, stress less and Just get one. It will take a year to wipe the smile off ya face 💯🤙
Yeah sometimes i get lazy and give it a shake and just leave it lol,... didn't play rc for a while, and litterally just spent a whole day cleaning and fixing 6 cars hahaha
my in rusted so much and I've not ran it in the wet or beach, this is my only rig that's like that, non the less it's an amazing kit, my most lively RC
Wow thats surprising! I expect to get rusty screws from a beach run, cos I know my screws rusted like straight away after the beach run but before that it was alright 🤔
I love mine. It's stupid tough. Those front wheel bearings are the only issue and they're serious easy and cheap to fix. I ordered tons of spare parts from Jenny's after i bought mine (as i do every new vehicle purchase). Everything from chassis, all arms, hubs, steering, axles, drive shafts, inner chassis braces, the works. I've used one hub bearing and pinion in 6 months of abuse. The body panels are hanging on with thoughts and prayers but nothing serious has failed. Plus with the speed pinion and ear plugged center diff it's an any speed wheelie beast. My buddy with a sledge was upset how much faster the Fireteam is especially since it's easy to get one for $150 less.
i agree. Mine has been abused and keeps coming back for more. I left wet grass on it and now there is some surface rust. She's not a looker but still keeps going.
Well you was one of the lucky ones because right out of the box it gave me problems front Servo when out and whenever I use the so-called emergency brakes my whole car shuts off so you was lucky
@@rcmanchild9106 it says it drives out moisture.. i think maybe if the bearings are sealed your not really spraying the grease out.. but for spraying screw heads it does leave a coating of oily residue on the surface...
