Dont forget the glitch from the beta launch that just got patched that your worms for fishing would just fuckin disappear from your inventory when you went to fish, but would show up in your satchel essentially locking you with the basic bait or the goddamn lures that barely fuckin worked.

As long as you play it current day on PC, the RP servers give you endless amounts of pvp encounters and content and the mods are ridiculous.. its so much fun.. the trolling, the betrayal.. smells like the ripe ol wild west in true form.

My biggest gripes with the game is the controls and the horrible input lag. It just feels sluggish. But other than that, I think the game is good. But its far from a masterpiece. I liked the first one better.

So much is wrong with this review that it would take me hours just to write down the reasons why you are wrong but the fact that you've played the game and have came to that conclusion tells me that no matter what I say you would still call this game shit. You complain about things like how the NPC's in Saint Denis have no where to sleep, literally no other game does this not the Witcher, not Assassins creed, not GTA the amount of time it would take to script and model the inside of city buildings would take longer than to make the outdoor environment itself. Only the Elder scrolls games manage to have its cities buildings textured and for lack of a better word "explorable" and you know what a common complaint is with the ES cities? The cities being dam too small, no developer has the man power and the hours to accomplish such a task in an open world game as big as RD2. You also talked about the problems with activities in between towns and all I have to say about that is that RD2 does nothing different then any other open world game, a few random events, some stranger missions, running into a few travelling A.I and passing through some log cabins/Farms, encountering wild life, having high way men attack you, hell now that I think about it RD2 does a bit more than the average open world game. What would be your suggestion? To just have the entirety of the game in one big city? Non stop bounty hunters chasing your ass the moment you leave a town in the game? How much immersion is too much for you and how much till you start complaining about the lack of immersion? You complain about how Arthur should have been given the option to just blow Dutch's head off, well let me ask you would you personally shoot the man that saved you? shoot Dutch the same guy who is basically your father figure? No matter how many times he fucks up you'd kill that man? Dutch only becomes a real asshole in the last Chapter of the game and that is when you confront him anyway, I dunno about you but regardless Rock Star had a story to tell and having options like killing Dutch a couple of Chapters in would radically change the story meaning a lot more hours in the office and probably lead to a degrade in the story telling. Very unrealistic expectations you have, and don't get me started on the movie references that was a terrible argument. With all of these complaints you've made I have to wonder do you like any open world game at all? Its fine if you don't I'm just curios. Games are an art form and you are entitled to an opinion, I am no way saying that RD2 is a perfect game but calling it shit? Well imagine me calling the Mona Lisa shit, yeah its my opinion but just how respectable would that opinion be? Well that's exactly how I view this video, an opinion just not a fair or respectable one.

Probably the only Rockstar game to have halfway-decent shooting mechanics is, funnily enough, Red Dead Revolver, which technically wasn't even made by Rockstar.

Pretty spot on. Rockstar games are pretty much compilations of movies in that genre. San Andreas was pretty much every hood movie cut together. They make good games, but their story telling never been too original imo. As far as the game play or RDR 2, def a fake illusion of all this meaningless bullshit mattering.

Fuck man I gotta say, I can see Rockstar going down the same "milk the consumer" mentality as Bethesda. This engine is not an all new engine, the faces in the "in game cinematics" and in game look completely different. The gameplay feels dated as fucking hell! This shit felt clumsy in in the 1st RDR! I also don't remember running into people on horseback being an issue in the last game, this game it feels like I do every damn time I play it, it's goddamn frustrating because someone somewhere sees it and I get a fucking Bounty on me!

There is also a glaring problem when you finish the story. The empty world. All the horse riding to do mediocre missions with little to no rewards. Speaking of rewards, there is nothing worth buying and having a sense of progression. Everything is so 'realistic' and mundane. You finish the game and epilogue, here's your 20000 and your house and then what? Buy a shittier horse? Buy 99 of everything? Buy wait.....that's it.... Yup what a game. 6/10. Nothing to do after the story and there is serious pacing issues from a narrative and gameplay standpeint.

Thank god someone said it! This game can be fun but half the time it’s stuck up its own ass being a cowboy simulator. I keep wondering if the game or story will actually pull me in and even though I’m on only in chapter 3 I’m SO SO bored. The movement and controls are straight out of 2008. I loved the first red dead. Also I don’t want to hear anyone giving this a 10 call Sony games walking simulators ever again.

By no means is it 10/10, but I'm slightly confused when you mentioned how having it so you could kill certain main characters in the game. What made you think rockstar would ever do that in their games? They always want you to follow along in their storyline the way they want.

I'll do you a solid, and paraphrase for those who missed it what you said. Listen up here, everybody! Solid Knob here felt that I was exaggerating issues with the game and making up issues that didn't exist (despite numerous comments in this very comment section confirming that they do) and that the whole video was an "attention grabber." IE, I was trolling for RDR2 fanboy hate. I told him I found it ironic and hilarious that SILENT ROB would accuse anyone else of making "attention grabbing" videos. His reply was "When I attention grab it's funny, not sad and pathetic like yours." To which I replied that it couldn't get much more sad and pathetic than making an entire library of videos spraying pussy blood all over his channel because he went to meet AlphaOmegaSin at a gaming convention and Alpha didn't give him the attention that he so CLEARLY deserved. I then relayed a conversation I had with Bill in Houston about it, wherein Bill jokingly replied "Never heard of him," ie "he's not worth wasting my breath over." Face hugger here replied saying that comment made me look like a moron because he was in a podcast with Alpha for a year, which in reality exposed his general lack of intelligence and overall lack of reading comprehension, so I actually had to post an additional comment and explain to him that by saying he'd never heard of him, Alpha was mocking his lack of importance and relevance, to which his dumb failtroll ass then claimed that I posted that as a way of "covering up" for my allegedly dumb remark. This went on for several more posts where it became more and more apparent, if the reams of videos he's made about Alpha since this one con weren't enough, that he has an at best unhealthy obsession with Alpha. It's an obvious button with him, so of course I continued to gleefully press it, but in the end told him that I admitted that he was right, nothing I'd posted was as funny as his quest to get Alpha to acknowledge him, I was admitting defeat. He posted again, because he has the brain of a 12 year old so has to get the last word in, so I replied telling him that he clearly suffered from Last Word Syndrome, so I was just going to let him have the last comment. I then logged out of my work station and went home. I'm sure I left a thing or two out here and there. He probably called me a few names, made some observations about my personal life, you know, incredibly witty and original shit that I have never, ever heard from literally thousands of teenagers in my 9+ years here on RU-vid. I do so regret whatever it was that happened to all his works of commentary art that somehow vanished into the ether, and I do so hope you can all forgive me for it, even though I did nothing to cause it. Plus some of the points such as vampires and aliens could in fact be fan service to these movies & not rip offs. Especially since those 2 mentioned have to be sides cause I never seen them. However most of your other points are valid. Story especially! Absolutely love the game I had hardly any of these problems he had I got used to the aiming and got quite good at it.... I didn't really realise there was a problem with the movement "lag" must have something to do with his controller or the console his using it on I had none of those issues this game is easy game of the year....

You make some good points, especially when it comes to controls and gameplay but I think Rockstar fans and especially fans of the first RDR will like this game. It has a lot of heavy fan service for people that loved the first game. It's a faithful prequel that enhances the original. It actually made me look at the RDR1's story and think more highly of it than I did before. As long as you're a fan and as long as you can get used to some bad/weird controls, RDR2 will probably give you your money's worth. I know that "don't buy this shit" is the name of your review series, so I'm not asking you to change it but I have to say that with games like Fallout 76 that came out this year... I mean, at least RDR2 is finished and felt like it was made for their fans. 76 disrespects its fans by delivering a broken and unfinished product that is chock full of lore contradictions and dumb ideas that never could've worked for a game like that. 76 is what you actually want to avoid this year, not Red Dead.

I knew i had a feeling this game is overrated, and some of the worries regarding this game before it came out might've come into fruition. I haven't played nor do i have interest in this game, but it's starting to sadden me that Rockstar is starting to follow industry trends, while also dropping the ball in their game's quality, an example of that was the lack of single player content for GTA V post launch, and the fact that it was a microtransaction driven grindfest as far as online goes. The game didn't pique my fancy already, but this review solidifies my mentality of such. Can't wait until the fanboys give it the GOTY award at the Video Game Awards

Played and beat this game. It wasn't as good as people made it out to be. In my opinion, game controls too slow at the beginning. Shootouts are repetitive. Stealth is a joke on some missions that would benefit from like Horizon Zero Dawn. Game looks on par with Mafia 3 on some aspects. It looks foggy on some missions. All in all, I'm more exited in Just Cause 4 than Red Dead Redemption 2.

I'm shocked by this video because you're the last person I'd expect to have this opinion. Personally I dislike RDR2 aswell. All of the beard shaving, rabbit skinning, gun cleaning, train dodging, horse brushing testicles swinging, hat losing, season changing outfit swapping, gold donating, catalogue browsing, witness chasing, bourbon drinking, lasso twirling, campfire kicking nonsense did my head in. I was only enjoying it during a good shoot out. The rest of it was just pointless filler all to make it more "realistic".
