Yes ofcourse i too used to do like that, but while taking the plates outside also it is very very difficult as it is completely hot. Even though we have to find a solution for every problem ☺️. But my opinion is this type of idli pot is not COMFORTABLE to use 🤗

Very honest review, Madam. Had the idea of buying..but, have to reconsider because of the three handles and the holes in the idli plates. Otherwise it looks good.

I also have the same product. Makes very nice Idli. But the biggest problem is as you say the handles. I have no idea why they kept it like that. Should be two handles on opp ends but they kept like this so difficult. I did not get the black metal spot in my Idli. What I did was wash it all and steam it all in the steamer without adding any batter. Then with the heat I washed it all again. Then used batter and all Idli are white. This is something of a problem in all stainless steel. It is why they recommend we fry onions to clean and season cast iron and stainless steel. I felt it was very good quality. Only problem is the handles for me. I also like that the Idli plates are flat so we can eat flat Idli like they serve in some hotels.
Good points for M&M to improve their drawbacks. According to them the batter should be thick to prevent its droplets which isn't desirable as in our cooking we use the batter as you've poured. They should provide option of holeless plates with either 2 or 4 handles with hooks provided to remove or place them inside. We normally use holeless idly stands in pressure cookers.

In Meenakshi and Meenakshi video itself Shankar bro told to heat the pot and bring water to rolling boil then to keep the idly plates inside. Doing this only will give soft idlys.
Normally that’s how idly is cooked. First heat the water and then put idlies thattu. Handle should be in the middle to easily take and put back using a cloth .
Yes sister. I too bought from mm shop..same experience 😮😢..i went mm shop to buy some vessels..but the response is not properly and quality of product is not good. The edges r very sharp

Like all the human beings i too respect food, iron tawa la kooda than first time podra dosai ya use panna koodathunu solvaanga, athukkaaga romba pulicha maavu use panni dosai or idli oothita food waste apdingra concept irukkaathu. Apdi than naanum senjurken. Evlo thaan wash panninalum , nammalukku theriyaama particular metal melt aaki intake panrathukku vaippu irukku. Athu kandippa health ah spoil pannum. So prevention is better than cure. Hope u understand.🙏🙏
Yes agalam 8 cm sonnanga, aalam kittathatta like old idli pot model mathiri than dear. But mostly ss idli pots la ball mathiri idlis irukkaathu. Aluminium, brass pots la than kundu kundu nu idli varum, depends upon the idli kuzhi ☺️
I already bought old type idli pot that was very useful but this new idli pot your review is correct main disadvantage is that 3 handles & that pot rivet is not safe mainly washing
I have bought old type idly steamer from M&M.. iam not satisfying of using it.. at first It was bad impression while lift the pot.. it was weightless and less quality and the pot turns to black after many use . I should keep one idly plate at a time if not it keeps two plates water droped out from the first layer to the second idle plate .. idle is full of watery
I have also experienced the same problem.There is not enough space inbetween two idly plates and also the idlis are very flat and hard to transfer.Most of the time Idlis were stuck in the cloth itself.It's very hard to take the idlis from the hot pan.When I received the idly pot there are rust in the place where the handles were attached.I have just received that product.Great disappointing to me.I have spent 2522 including courier charges.Such a worst product I have never experienced so far as you said.A small suggestion to all my sisters who watch this video, kindly avoid these types of online products.Kindly go in person to shops and buy whatever you want.
Im frm Kolkata . Thought it will be good product..wish I had seen this video earlier. I bought one. The handle was broken and kept nicely. I did complain but no response. They misguide people on RU-vid. I do watch but I buy frm local shop
I too having the same issue with three handles . I am not able to lift it or place the idly plate in the pot ( as you do it is slanting on one side .). I wish Shankar will rectify this problem by providing a thong with three hooks where you can lift each up just like the rice cooker strainer where Shankar showcased in one of the videos that provided a hook to lift up the strainer with a handle from rice cooker . I don’t mind buying this thongs as I have spent Rs 2550 for this item which the handle is main issue . I think we can try to request Shankar for this universal issue where all his customers are facing with this particular Idly pot .
For the past 3 years I'm using the combo of ss hot box dear. They are light weight but worth for money. Retains heat for 4 to 5 hours if it is filled till the mouth( top ). Or else it won't retain heat which is common to all brand hot boxes.
I also use m&m ss hot box combo for last 1.5 yrs. I m using it for all 365 days. Still keeps food hot for more than 4 hrs. No rusting at all. Quality is very good. I m satisfied.
@8.53 its cloth idly maker chechi y u have poured the batter without cloth ....in one video M&M he mentioned it that holes is there v should not pour the batter without idly cloth....
Actually when MM introduced this same model pot, they told we can make idli with or without cloth. That's y I made like that. But after knowing the issue only, they told to put cloth, it was mentioned in the next model idli pots only. This model they stopped.
For 5 cups rice( 4.5 cup idly rice and 1/2 cup raw rice) 1 cup urad dal and 1/4 tsp Fenugreek seeds dear. I usually take half ration rice and half store bought idly rice. Thanks for watching ☺️
First check whether it has balanceble handles. Combo plates vudan vangarthu best tha,if you have that much usage. Obviously steel idli pot is good option. Mudunjavaraikum aluminium idli pot la irukkura mathiri, ovvoru thattukkum idli pot la vilimbu iruntha best a irukkum, appothan adi thattula idli amunthu pogama irukkum .. Hope this is helpful😊
I also bought the same pot from M&M. I am also facing the same problem. We are unable to hold the idli plates after pouring the batter because we lose balance. I brought this to the notice of M&M. I also sent them a video. They are least bothered. My experience is s very bad. They don't care for customers once the product is sold. Be aware before buying this idli pot. One more problem is you cannot make 21 idlis as claimed by them because there are only two steps unlike our aluminium idli pot which has three steps. Whatever explanation you give with proof, M&M doesn't care. There's a basic problem in the design itself.
Yes. They won't bothered after sales. I have very worst exp to exchange a cracked vessel. More than a month i fight with wassap..no response..better not to buy ..very bad exp & totally they won't attend or rely yr MSG..be carefull..
Guys pl visit yr nearest shop and see.. touch the pot and happily buy that. Don't go for online shopping & high amount of courier charges.. please don't buy 🙏🙏🙏
I bought zenith1 16.0 last year than athukula juicer jar and bullet jar hum break ageduchi.., now Mixi body crack irukku... 1 year ku too many problems... I'm totally disappointed with the product...
Ohh apdiya... I had same experience with their electric hand blender. Actually I use rarely but it gets struck , i serviced it in a local shop, again same problem with that. Electrical items i won't suggest there.
I too bought zenith 16.0.. mixie motor gone in 1 year. For service mm asked to courier the mixie to Salem which is very costly for me from my place.so i serviced it in near by shop, the mechanic told the motor quality is not so good. Just use till it comes, can't repair or service it again if it goes again nu. Worst product for 8k. Branded ones seems better than mm's in terms of mixie and grinder.
It's my suggestion try pigeon brand idly pot.. Reviews are nice . We will get multi use of idly kadai .. it has attached with 3 ply stainless steel with good quality.i have purchased the idly pot in mm iam using this one year iam not getting satisfy .. so iam waiting for the right time to dispose it and expect to buy pigeon. After hearing good reviews. I wanna you to check out this brand at once and decide before buying it
@@TajsCookhouse madam , you shud say that you are going to consumer court. Only after using you will come to see defects. You shud ask for an exchange or money refund. Otherwise they will start cheating innocent poor people, when poor people can't exchange and if they continue to use those vessels it may cause some health hazards. You know, there shud be an ISI for every product. If the product is not upto the mark they have claimed or if it can cause health problems ,then children,old people,youngsters all will face a pblm in the later years just because of the food cooked in that poor quality veesel. Why, even your family may get affected tomorrow. Pls make them understand that this product cannot be used in cooking. You are saving many people by doing this.
