Having lived and worked on cruise ships for many years and being lucky enough to spend two summers in Alaska, I love how educational this Vlog is because you’re really pointing out why people should go to Alaska and how much beauty you can see when you’re there.
Thank you for bringing back so many amazing memories. We went in 2018 to Alaska and it was mindblowing. InJuneau we were on a luxury yaght with one other couple and saw many whales and seals and orca's with their offspring. Absolutely one of the most beautifull things to see ever, really emotional. Now i am going to look at my pictures and films again. Thank you for sharing your vlogs, they are fantastic!
Loving the memories that these vlogs bring back. I lost count after 15 whales, but we were both so lucky to see the bubble feeding. Great excursion, deffo worth every penny of the whole trip for that day alone.
Thank you. I cried with joy and wonder seeing these wonderful creatures. That was just from your film so can only imagine how magical it was live. So envious and happy you got to see them and share with us. 😂😢
I did this same tour in 2022, was the best tour ever. As someone who walks with a walking stick i had no trouble doing this hike. Also very informative. We saw over 6 whales during out part of the tour. Worth ever cent. This brought back so many memories. Don't worry Carole , i cried to.
Have to say this was one of the best videos you guys have presented. So entertaining and informative (we will be in Juneau next may24 and you have given us such an insight into what's possible). Can't wait for the next instalment.
Thanks for this great video. You really covered a lot in one day! The rain forest was absolutely amazing and view of the glacier was perfect. 21 Whales spotted is fantastic.! Your stop at the saloon was just right 👍 🦆 🦆 farts! 😀
Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦 I can’t believe how fortunate you were to see all those whales. Were they humpbacks? The Crown Royal Whiskey that was in your Duck Fart shot is made right here in my province!! It definitely warms the” cockles of your heart”. Best wishes for safe travels and the biggest thank you for sharing your travels.☺️
You guys are the best! I loved how Carol pronounced Juneau wrong every single time except maybe after she had her duck fart lol love, love, love your room… I am camp, go on fewer cruises, but have a nicer room. As opposed to inside cabin, and go on more cruises.
I loved this vlog. What an experience to see all those whales. I am enjoying every minute of my trip to Alaska with you. Shame I can't taste all the delicious food too!
Loving this series. I'm so pleased you had a fantastic time. Thank you for taking us with you. ❤ For Paulie Morgan - cheese toasties and tomato soup are next level. Every week it's Toastie Thursday in my house, perks the end of the week up no end 😂
Fantastic vlog series, showing the real beauty of nature. Seeing whales is so emotional, was lucky enough to see humpbacks and orcas a few years back on a trip to Victoria bc. What never comes across is the size and majesty of them. I remember filming them and it was only when i took my eyes from the screen i realised they were so close. This series has made me add Alaska to my bucket list. Thanks for sharing such great vlogs, keep up the great work.
Entertaining as always, Duck Farts is a new one though lol, it did remind me of Duck Face from 4 weddings and a funeral. We have been thinking of doing something similar, an extended holiday to include Canada by train, then New Zealand cruising, not sure if something like that exists.
Glad you enjoyed it, if you speak to Dan our travel man , if there is an itinerary that includes your requirements Dan will find it for you, if you need his details do let us know.
Fantastic experience .. brought back memories of our trips there on Celebrity Infinity in about 2004 and Serenade of the seas in 2008. When we were there they said the easiest way to spot bald eagles is to look for golf balls in the trees 😅. Sure enough there were plenty to be seen once they said that lol😅
The protruding bit on the front of the hull is a bulbous bow. It helps the ship sail through the water more smoothly and saves on fuel I believe. Chris Frame talks about it in one of his videos. I also heard him explaining it in an enrichment talk on the Queen Elizabeth. Thanks for showing the beautiful whales. I would have been very emotional if I'd been there.
I was in Juneau at the beginning of October on a cruise and we were lucky to see a whale breeching off the side of our ship, but our whale watching excursion was only two whales, a Mom and baby, just swimming and diving. NOTHING like what you got- wow! But tell Carole, you have to shoot a shot; that Duck Fart isn't meant to be sipped :) Great vlog! I subscribed.
Omg…your trip bring back so many memories…I did Alaska in Sept. 1995..on Crown Dynasty (small ship part of Cunard THEN not now)…we did a whale watching excursion off ship and saw a few whales but loads of bald eagles… but sadly no bears..only when we visited the rubbish tip!…..yay we went into the Red Dog Saloon too…I didn’t even have a Duck Fart! …Well done Carole 👍 sorry didn’t want to brag 😩 Love your vlogs xx
I was at the red dog saloon this summer and my friend had the duck fart! In fact maybe two !! I need to go back next year!! It was great u saw all of those whales !!! Great video!! Thanks !
Sticking on the videos in the background while I'm back and working. I don't know if anyone else has mentioned it or you know already, but from around 4:40 in the video when you're out on your balcony, look down to the gantry between Koningsdam and Eurodam and look near the US flag there and you'll see a bald eagle sitting. We had it pointed out to us when we got ashore so grabbed some photos then and saw it eventually take off and fly down the main street.
Well fair play you do have eagle eyes! 🤣We didn't notice that! Bet you're loving being home and back to work. Your Panama Canal cruise looked interesting, we definitely would like to get on one of Princess's older ships!
Entertaining as always! Did a similar cruise in May but not the same excursioins. My wife grew up in Alaska, so I had to see it and defintely want to return!
Great vlog! Sooo blessed to see so many whales! We had the same guide as you! In the Red Dog we had a total of two beers and 4 Duck Farts. Needless to say we can't remember much about the crabs we ate at Tracy's Crab Shack afterwards! 😂
Yes we were incredibly lucky, Apparently the most our guide/your guide had ever seen in one trip. I don’t think I could have paid Carole to try another duck fart
What a fabulous afternoon you had. To see hunting humpback whales as you did was an experience I know you will never forget and to see so many….. absolutely wonderful. Sorry about this but you clearly had a whale of a time (please don’t all groan at once 😱😱) I never got to Juneau on my Alaskan trip but I have a feeling your next vlog is going to bring back some great memories for me of my land tour. Looking forward to it. Thank you for sharing that fabulous experience.
Walking through that Forrest, you could actually tell someone you were in the Scottish Highlands. I actually said it looks just the same as the Scottish woods/forrests just seconds before you said you had never seen anything like it.
Our first ever cruise was 5 years ago on the westerdam to alaska...we also had an aft Neptune suite...(40th wedding anniversary trip...I had spent several years trying to get my husband on a cruise) and we did a similar trip to the glacier and whale watching but on a bigger boat We weren't so lucky in seeing whales though...to the point where the boat stayed out nearly an hour longer then planned - just to make sure we saw 'A' whale!....to get past the ' we guarantee you will see whales ' thing. So....we were very very late back to the ship..well past the sail time! But...we were on a holland america excursion , so the ship had to wait for us...by ' us' I mean nearly 150 passengers! As we were approaching the ship there were crew waving at us shouting run...I just said 'I'm not running anywhere mate...there's another 3 coach loads behind us!!!
We loved our Neptune Suite. Thats the beauty of being on a cruise ship excursion, the ship waits for you. We can't believe we seen 21 whales, absolutely awesome!
I’m considering sailing on the Koningdam next year and stumbled upon your channel. Lots of information and you guys are cute/funny 😊 What month/time of month was your cruise?
Fab vlog, so lucky to see all those whales and the Red Dog saloon looks a ton of fun. Alaska is on my bucket list so looking forward to trying a duck fart for myself.
You two crease me up 😂 loved the Whale watch we did very similar in Sept no bubble netting but loads of flukes.....very emotional as you say. Duck Farts are a must but not for me....yuk lol
Poor Carole, it was too loud for them to give you the instructions for your duck fart. Quack quack, knock it back! No sipping! Ah, then I watched further and saw you did, you just ignored them lol
Right then what a perfect wind down to sleep a poster of the wake with that gorgeous Alaska coastal back drop Not very friendly of you not to share that lovely breakie I kept reaching for a taste but no such luck 😂❤❤
Such a fantastic vlog! seeing those whales was amazing, how privileged you were. It's such a tragedy that whales are still hunted and killed by certain countries,Ive tried in my way to stop this, but to no avail!
If you’re raised on ciders, water the least of your enemies. Missed an opportunity. Loving the vlogs. Booked our first cruise in Caribbean end of Nov due to you guys and a second on Sky Princess in May to Norway. You really give the facts and the joy. Thank you ❤
Were all the whales you saw humpbacks. So 😎 Does anyone HATE the correctness feature as much as me WHY can’t the drafted circuit board print what I type WORSE when I type slowly hoping for spelling help it’s outside having a coffee and ciggie caught it writing cohoe for ciggie that doesn’t even make sense
