I have been lifting weights since in my 20’s. (I am 65 yrs old). My husband was a bodybuilder and fitness trainer. When he taught me deadlifts, he taught me like you are demonstrating. A trick he told me was “to push the floor away with my feet”. 😂. He said I was not “lifting the weights, but pushing the floor away”. It helped me remember to use my legs and NOT my back to do the work.
I was told I cam with mild osteoporosis in hip and told them the osteoporosis society fxxx off. I have dwarfism and can barely stand. I'm 5 stone 13 and tiny framed and can't carry an ounce of fat on ny joints without osteoarthritis starting. Om very mobile. Play basketball and do tae kwon do. I also swim. I run though not very much. Any fat like muffin tops led to poor dexa scores.
Depends on each individual. I have arthritis in my back....I know my body. You know your body. Modify with no weight if you want to try the movement first. If it doesn't feel safe to you. Don't do it.
