I'm retired Army, and I totally agree with this man. As I tell everyone who tells me that they want to join, to keep in mind that the military is not for everyone. It has its pros and cons, but it's definitely not for play, play. Always keep in mind that if and when you join, you become nothing more to our government than just a number, a warm body is all they really want and care about. They use to tell us when we joined that the Army looked out for the morale of the troops and the mission. We quickly learned that the mission always comes first and that they really could care less about anything else. Please keep this thought in mind if you are contemplating joining. Once you join, you lose all of your rights, I repeat all of your rights and your dignity. Please take that seriously. Don't get me started on their leadership or the lack thereof of good leadership. Which equates to any butt head can and will tell you what to do, regardless if they're qualified to do so. No branch is different, throughout my career, I worked with them all. Thank you Aaron for telling the truth and for not sugar-coating it. Like a lot of recruiters and people do.
I’m a Veteran and they do no take care of veterans but can pay Hollywood and NBA and NFL millions etc. There are so many homeless veterans and veterans can’t even get dental at the V.A unless you have 100 percent service connection
Exactly. Our soldiers have to risk dying for uptight snakes and politicians who don't give a damn about how many good soldiers they lose. They see you as pawns.
Completely agree with you. Anyone that's considering joining, watch this video. The military isn't all sunshine and butterflies. The only perk might be the locations, but honestly with the workload you'll have a hard time enjoying it.
💯 true and on your off days you’ll be so tired that you won’t even want to get off the couch. Plus, don’t ever marry member remember because if one of the spouses becomes abusive, it is extremely hard if damn near impossible to leave that abuse relationship.
@@onPoint00 hell yeah. Unless you're an athlete and I mean a real athlete: you were a star basketball player in high school and they couldn't have won the district championship without then do not do this. If you ACTUALLY want to be an operator you have a wayyyyyy better chance joining the army or Marines as an air assault or airborne infantryman with a 3 years contract, doing your best as regular grunt and at the end of your contract tell them you want to be special forces. It takes literally years of physical conditioning to get to operator status and 3 years in the infantry will definitely help you get there, unlike all these camps and courses CrossFit instructors like to advertise online. Even with the 3 years in the infantry you will still probably flunk out but at least you got to shoot guns and jump out of helicopters. you cannot join as a cook and then change to a different MOS, it is basically impossible but I promise you this: your body will be fucked up at the end of your contract regardless of your MOS so If you want to shoot guns in the military then you better start off shooting guns. If you don't listen to me and you just jump straight into seals you'll most likely flunk out and be stuck for 6 years painting ships or baking bread or something like that. No you won't be able to be train as a corpsman if you flunk out. No you probably won't even end up as security forces. No it's not up to you what you do next when you flunk out of seals. Yes, it's a great way to get a lot of highly qualified people to get stuck doing a job they hate for 6 years
@@moisesaguirre515 Sorry i barely seen this but i’m 15 and have been running miles with extra weight for a couple weeks now and i just joined track as well. I’ve also been shooting guns my whole life. matter of fact i can shoot extremely well with irons sights. Also my plan is to wait until i’m around 20 and if i still want to do it which i think i still will, i’ll pay for a course that’s made to prepare you for buds, that way when i do sign a contract i’ll have been working out for years and have taken a course so the physical aspect of it won’t be as difficult, which ik it will still be extremely difficult, i’m not sure that even puts it in perspective, and yes ik that 80% of buds is mental strength, i’ve been trying to work on that to. I’ve talked to a few SEALs and they said you’ll be out of your comfort zone every day and to get out of my comfort zone as much as possible. Ik most people think you get your trident after buds, but you have to go to SQT which is i think about another 6 months, so ik that i’ll have to be mentally and physically prepared for a year and a half of pain both mentally and physically. Also the fact that i could have the chance to be apart of something that most people wouldn’t even want to attempt bc of the statistical failure rate for most who go to buds, bc you have want it more then anything else.
📑 🧐 Hmmmm Oooh lord🤦♂️!.... 🇺🇸military spent $4billion on marketing promoting agenda for “THE ALPHABETICAL MAFIAS” ESG that has been propagated by big corporations: BLACKROCK, BLACKSTONE, J.P. MORGAN, etc… As a vet myself, (low casualty) Leadership doesn’t care about about you. Only care about the mission to boost their political agenda, career, pocket…
The military is not for everyone. It is challenging, requires personal sacrifice, and obedience. It can be a gate to a better way of life if you can stay focused. I was drafted in 1969, then enlisted, saw the world and retired as a Colonel in 1999. Along the way were multiple deployments and 2 wars, but also college degrees and ultimately a great retirement. My son retired from the Marines, same thing. My oldest grandson is at the 15 year mark in the US Air Force and will stay for 20, same thing. Again, it is not for everyone, it takes a certain mind set to endure, but if you retire, the benefits are fantastic.
22 years and I can completely agree with you. And you are correct, you need to create an outlet for your mental health. Too many times, I have seen people make the Army their life. They lived, breathed, and ate it! When it came time to hang up the uniform, they suffered greatly. They didn't know how to operate outside of it. And there were many times that I had to sacrifice family time, bonds with friends because the mission came first. I had the unfortunate experience of being stationed at Fort Riley for 8 years where there was absolutely nothing to do. Unless you traveled 3 hours to Kansas City or took a 4 hour drive south to Dallas.
I wasn’t in super long but I knew a lot of guys that killed themselves due to depression. I think the military should be full volunteer like along time ago. Toxic leadership won’t let soldiers get the hell they need and then they are stuck being depressed for their contract. They either hurt themselves or hurt others. There’s some changes that need to be made.
I know your comment was several months ago, but my joining the Navy was absolutely the best decision I ever made in my life. I got into an awesome career field that later landed me a killer career with the FAA. I would highly recommend joining the military. Just do your research to see what branch would fit you best. I'm sorry this guy had a bad experience, but out of all my friends from highschool, all of us who joined the different branches of military went on to live great productive lives, bought houses, great careers, etc. It really made a huge difference. Most of those who didn't join up never really went anywhere with their lives. Never had much to show for themselves and were just broke all the time, bunch of crappy jobs that lead nowhere. The military is what you make of it. Please don't listen only to these folks who didn't have a good experience. If you want to know the real deal, go to any VFW hall and ask them questions. Those folks will tell you the straight truth. And they're the ones who have actually been in battle. Most people who join don't even see combat. And if that's something you're concerned about then take into consideration the thousands of military jobs other than being an infantry soldier or whatever. For instance you could join the air force and become a dental hygienist. Or join the navy and get a ton of computer training. Or do payroll type stuff for the coast guard. The list goes on and on. But please talk to actual veterans, like I said preferably at a VFW. Don't forget about the signing bonuses they offer now. I think it's around $50,000 just to join. Plus killer college money, etc. Best of luck in whatever you choose to do.
@@davidaschwanden2094 Only a very small percentage of people join the military. That should tell you something. Most people do not want to join no matter what.
Put these in perspective: 1. Chances are you will end up at a toxic unit. You cannot quit and have to show respect to every officer regardless if they're a prick. In the civy world you are free to tell them to fuck off and quit with no real ramifications. 2. If you are junior enlisted and single, chances are you'll be living with your coworkers in the barracks. Idk about y'all, but I don't like about being around said toxic coworkers after duty hours.
@learningacademy864 I don't even know man. But I'm guessing the bathroom where there aren't any cameras. Sadly, horrifying stuff like that happens all the time.
He is right... If it's ur dream too join then join. I do say the military is not fun at all and can get challenging both mentally and physically, but if u are a ready then what's stopping u just have faith and go. But u should see the requirements of the military before joining, if u are a foreigner, U will need a green card and a lot more than a civilian. I know because I am a marine corp and joined the USA. I need a clean back round, greencard and alot more. I finally joined the Marian in 2019 January 6 and been surviving for 3 years. I passed my bootcamp, and beginners phase and moved on too advance. Most military people stop after beginners phase where they receive there badge and become whatever field of military they are in and then go back home. I stayed for advance level and know am proud of myself. There is no need to fear whatever lie's people tell u. Just stay positive and before joining be physically fit and mentally strong to overcome most challenges.
You always got great content! I'm getting ready to join the Military, but the Airforce Branch. Yeah trust me Aaron you can still face all those hardships even in the civilian life. I work at Amazon and the leadership still sucks! I think it's all about your perspective! I'll take that life all day everyday!
@@serenityalreadykno2639 I woke up getting ready to work and I fell asleep behind the wheel and when I woke up 😭😭😭 I signed a contract with the navy 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I joined the Army at age 31 for survival and to get out the streets and drug game. I like how it is a socialist system in the military, as they provide everything in return for being a slave, so it's the same as working for a corporation pretty much but better because they manage your rent and food and all and don't charge for healthcare. So if someone don't want to compete in capitalism then military is a good option over prison because it provides and you can survive potentially and maybe make it to retirement at a decent age. If I live through the next 19 years then I will be able to retire at 51. So I'm grateful for this shit because it helped me turn my life around. If you young and all then I can see why you may not want to join but for people who haven't made shit of themselves by early thirties, this a good way to get your life together and maybe have a better life if survive wherever the rich folks send us to protect their interests and businesses and corruption. So just got to get in where you fit in. I like military as it's like a luxury federal prison and socialism and can get your needs met in return for being Frontline or support for it. I'm infantry. Plus it keep you healthy and in shape if you eat the healthy options and utilize the gyms and Socialized healthcare and benefits. I say if you young and need help for college through GI bill or you a failure and need help this a good opportunity. If you a rich kid or got some profitable skills then go get money in the rat race and try to be ethical and don't forget about those of us who don't have it like you do. Military good for us proletariat just trying to survive and willing to give up our freedom for a chance at retirement and healthcare and to gamble with our life for survival without risking criminal acts and prison unless you choose to as in the military you don't have to be in the streets. You just got to do what they tell you and if you go then you go but you can live a decent life till then and they even give you more money to get married which I don't really agree with but I guess you can try to have a full time hoe and hope she doesn't rob you. Best to get a dumb one that can't navigate the legal system well. Or stay single and just make less money but then your home life not stressful and only the work life stressful. Choose wisely and definitely put all you can in the retirement plan and stack the little checks up so if you make it out you good and can buy some land and only have to pay taxes on it but it will increase in value unlike everything else. Good luck. It beats joining a gang that will just use you and betray you in the end plus this the only gang that going to treat you this good. So if you in the streets and haven't gotten a record yet then switch lanes. And a lot of the civilians will then thank you all the time and all nice and respectful if they know you're military which I don't understand but I appreciate it. They will see you and say thanks for service and God bless you and very kind to your face. Go Army!
@@joekill7455 yea I had to get two waivers too. They went through Fort Knox for approval I think. Just stay on the recruiter about the status of them as with anyone they got to do waivers and extra work for to get in boots they seem to not care as much cuz they more so going for really naive fresh out of high school kids that got no record and they can sign up on an impulse decision and ship out fast and get their numbers. The older you are and the more waivers and things they got to deal with the less they care and so you got to walk in and ask on status and call/text them and ask if anything you need to do to help with the process to keep it moving. Do not join infantry too. I should have did something else cuz unless you really like being under a lot of ignorant younger people trying to teach you life lessons when they do not really know much or have much experience, it very frustrating. The medical MOS 68 series seem a lot more practical and less aggressive ignorant wannabes like in infantry where it just a toxic pissing match of brainwashed kids trying to be alpha males. Good luck.
Tbh only join the military if you actually have a passion for it don’t join for the benefits because a recruiter is telling you it’s not always true if you’re gonna actually gonna join make sure you like it .once you get in you can get out it’s probably gonna take awhile especially during covid.
Only join if you’ve hit rock bottom. You’re 28+ and the chances of you ever retiring or becoming a homeowner is slim to none because the best you can do on the job market is land a job where the peak hourly wage is $5-$10 above whatever McDonald’s is paying their part time high schoolers. If that’s you just join the military, you got nothing to loose. Become an army plumber or a navy HT, do your 20 years and retire at 53 with a house to come home to somewhere in the fly over states. If you’re gonna work, you might as well work for the company that will benefit you the most in the long run. Beats being 59 and still having to break your back at a warehouse
It’s called making sacrifices for your future. If your why isn’t big enough, then all this applies. If your why is big enough, nothing he mentioned will stop you from achieving your goals. Sacrifice.
nope it can just be a stepping stone, you can keep that as a career. Some people dont need parents to hold my hand and tell me to do things. they make relationships harder, privacy harder, and personal life harder. i love the constitution but the government should sweep the entire military with another federal district and background check to make sure the boss isnt friends with anyone to keep his spot. btw i make six figures
This is awesome!! I have absolutely no desire to join the military / learn about it but I enjoy your creative expression in your videos! continue to inspire Aaron!
I’m in the Air Force and have no desire to serve anymore. All my respect for ppl who do but not me unless we going to an actual world war 3 and I gotta protect my ppl
I think people should ask themselves ; 1. Would I still enlist if the benefits were all removed tomorrow? 2. Am I fine with not being able to question anything that leadership does? If the answer is still yes, you most likely belong in the military.
I have been in 14 years and I'll say this some of what you say is true and some just isn't, but we came in it was about breaking you down from a civilian and turning you into a soldier and giving you core values and principles, the army has lost alot of that, toxic leadership and being treated like a child is anywhere civilian jobs are that way all the time, I have been in units where the leadership is very bad and toxic and I have been in units where the leadership is amazing and the NCO's are awesome and care about there soldiers!! My advise is find a mentor in your unit, someone who is willing to take you under their wing and show you, I had and E6 that took me under him when I was an E5 and he really taught me more then just how to be a great NCO, he taught me how to be a man and a better person and I am always grateful for that!! Your military experience is your own, everyones is different, but at the end of the day, only you make it what you want it to be
The closest I came to dying in the army was 3 times. Twice was off road in the rain in the back of an LMTV driven by someone who skipped driver's training because the chain of command was cutting corners and didn't think it was important for a 17 year old who likes to race their v6 Camaro on the freeway and drives like a complete moron. The 3rd time was when I almost froze to death on the back of an LMTV waiting for the sun to come up because the chain of command didn't want us stepping out before sunrise AND told us to pack everything into a train heading to Texas without telling us we would be on a detail to clean up unexploded ordinance in the desert. People were literally taking turns sticking their hands in truck exhaust pipes and using all the trash bags we had to stuff our uniforms for warmth
I can understand where you’re coming from 💯 but as someone who got out after feeling this EXACT SAME WAY i gotta admit no matter how good of a job you get outside of the army or military in general, nobody presents the same opportunities as well as the camaraderie the benefits and as far as the mental health thing any job can stress you out but its about how you deal with the stress go to therapy use the benefits they offer take advantage of them just as much as they take advantage of you. As much as they say this and that about being away from family its all about who you know and how you approach wherever you are ive met people who stayed at certain duty stations for 13 years and 16 years so in conclusion life is what you make it no matter what route you take but as long as you give it all you got fr shit a cake walk💯 im going back
Should've talked about the hidden gems on the army, staff duty, area beautifacation, mp mondays, sharp, pointless fields all that fun stuff. Oh don't forget the great MRE's.
No.1 thing is don’t go in with a relationship, most likely you will meet Jody. No.2 don’t be an 11b or you’ll hate life for a whole 6 months and then some when you get to your unit No.3 don’t be any mos other than 11b or you are a pog
Everything you said is so true! People love to compare the civilian world to the military and its 2 different worlds for one you have the FREEDOM to leave your civilian job whenever you want! Also, you can call out of work in the civilian world, that does NOT exist in the military. My mental health has suffered so much being in the military, my love life has too!
Sheesh that last part sound harsh man. Im 18 and my parents want me to join and I don't know if i should. I know absolutely nothing about that lifestyle i just want a better future or wtv. I'll only do like 2 years if I can but idk how all that shit works. Why can you not call out for work is a strict policy

To anyone absolutely committed to joining but who has a low ASVAB score: get yourself a tutor. The math is not difficult with just a little practice and repetition. 3-4 lessons could be the difference between you spending 3-4 years in hell with a shit job or having 3-4 years in a COOL job with great civilians prospects. If your recruiter says all you qualify for is infantry, go back and retake the test in six months. Use that time to either get a tutor or watch free youtube videos that will literally teach you all the math you need for the ASVAB. You owe it to yourself and your body to get a job that will lift you up in life, not leave you broken with nothing more to show for it than a stupid blue chord.
Thanks Aaron ❤ my son just called me now. A recruiter is sitting in front of him and my son says to me “he told me they will pay for my school and I get a check and a great summer job!” I came on here and saw your video. I sent it to him. Thanks so much.
I was 17 in 02 when I went in. Turned down wrestling scholarship graduated early. You get in what you put in. I grew up in San Joaquin CA. Population 2,000. Moved to Stockton signed up through Manteca CA. What I learned , what I went through has never left me. Best time of my life. I miss it every day.

Yes, all the things you described is actual civilian life. Ever had a job where the boss or manager sucks? Ever been poor for 7 yrs straight with 50 bucks in your bank account cause ends meet with 2 jobs isn’t enough? Ever worked for a company where they don’t let you wear what you want or even have your phone on you? I have and that’s why I’m joining the military. For better opportunities

As a followup, military service "Doesn't Make You Rich." It can provide you a usable skill after your time in, as well as a college degree (or two) once you get out, which depends if you use your time wisely and have a career field (i.e., MOS, AFSC) that will afford you the time to attend classes. With being said, there's nothing that stops you from investing money from your paycheck you'll receive on the 1st and 15th of every month. You have all the opportunity in the world "Within A Confined Structure Of Your Choosing Military Service;" make the most of it if you choose this life....
The only reason I'm joining the Army is bc, I feel as though it can benefit me and my family down the road. Me and my brother are able to go to college for free bc my mom was an Air Traffic Controller in the Navy. The benefits are great. But you should do A LOT of thinking before you do join. For me this has been a life long dream of mine. I personally am going to join and be a Military Police Officer(MP). Hopefully I get special security clearance from the Department of Defense tho😐. Didn't figure that out until like a few months ago.😐😐😐😐😐.
How long was your mom in the navy? I’m also air traffic control but in the Air Force. I went to a army recruiter after the Air Force recruiter didn’t reply for awhile. He hit me up at last second, was almost in the army tho. Definitely my second choice
I’m thinking about being military Police as well, but my mom who is apart of the UPHS & CDC is dreading my decision which has stumped me, anyone have any other job ideas
I'm half way through AIT and my MOS is 11B, I'm Infantry and tbh I didn't want that job but at the same time I didn't have a choice because of my asvab score. Infantry is fun but I've been dealing with inconsiderate individuals which makes it difficult for those who actually wanna be there.
@@IAmNiyahSimone I'm in the Army, you should definitely do some research before choosing your MOS. I have cousins that joined the Marines, it's not as easy as the Army.
Lot of the leadership for lower enlisted is very young and inexperienced in terms of leadership and education which makes them counterproductive leaders. They often “kiss up and kick down.” And they overuse pressure as a style of leadership that in garrison is not as necessary and causes very hostile and low morale work environments. The military is a good way to survive though and that is why I am here as they might get me killed, but I got food water shelter and healthcare till I die or get out. And if make it twenty years can retire at 51 and get pension. So hoping I make it. Long ways to go. We will see.
Joined at 18 to serve my country and fight a war. Spent 4 years peacetime doing nothing but details and police call. You are dead on about being treated like a child. You are stuck in the barracks if single. Your weekends are usually shot. Hey you details and getting shit on. I liked my first 2 years in. The last 2 I hated. My last unit would run extra Pt. By the time we got back. You only had time to eat chow and not shower. You had to pick one. One day I refused to leave the chow hall till I ate. It took a full bird Col to order me to leave. Once I had to do 48hrs CQ. My squad leader went on vacation and forgot to tell my 1sgt. That was a long 2 days. I had a 1sgt who was single. He would hang out in the barracks on the weekends and make us clean the barracks extra. Had a squad leader who was in the onlympics before the Army. He made us run Pt every Saturday for 3 months. We had to go to IG and file a complaint. Worked a job for 1 year where I worked 27 hrs and had 2 days off. Commander refused to pay BAS. Had to go to IG over it. Hated the treatment by senior NCOs. One time went to the field. We had to share a GP medium with a few E6s and up. They took half the tent and made us lower enlisted put our cots side by side. Hated the officers who treated us like shit. I grew up in the burbs and lived upper middle class before the army. I would hang out in the burbs off post. Was told by my commander. He was surprised to see me in this nice neighborhood. He told me to leave. He tried to give me a company article 15. Had to prove I was from a upper class family to get out of it. All of these games made me get out after 4 years. I wanted to make it a career for 20 years. When I etsed. I took my boots and wrote fuck the army on them. I threw them in front of the company power lines. Got a phone call when I got home. Telling me I am on leave and had to behave because I was still in the army. Told them to fuck off..
lol i hear you..i didn't mind the guard duty, especially late at night when I had the armory or other post where no one bothered me. It's the other petty nonsense i hated.
I joined the Military Sealift Command, as a Supply Utilityman, and I gotta tell ya, you earn about 75k a year for some reason as it's supposed to be 40k I think. But the worst part about MSC is the multiple suicide's and some injuries. I find it very queer and disturbing despite leadership's demands and their negative vibes. I sometimes wonder if bosses actually kill their employees like literally through planned products to send or psychologically control the weak-minded for suicide. I left due to it's dark place. I'm never going back there again. It's bad. 😿💔
Really? Was considering MSC for a while. Environments on ships are really that hostile to the very crews that run them? One of my grandfathers was an Electronics Operator/Radioman (He had multiple rates) in the Coast Guard and went into the aerospace industry. Never got to know him but I was considering maritime-related jobs for the training, since it's as remote as can be for learning to work in the field. Also I had a bunch of relatives who were Army so I'm considering some kind of civil service involving a branch of the military to learn from highly-trained professionals.
theres alot of positive comments here. im glad im reading through as a recruit for EM SeaBeas. honestly it seem that people are most unhappy whom picked combat Mos's or contracts that have little to no value in the civilian world.
Lmao I liked for freedom 🤣 one of my good buddies just joined and I debated joining myself but I don't think it would be the best decision for me at this point in life and I'm afraid I would regret my decision and there is definitely no turning back
I joined the army because I wanted to receive the Medal of Honor. I passed basic training and AIT at Fort Leonard Wood and became a combat engineer. Right before deployment I was given a psych evaluation and they dubbed me to be not mentally stable. Because my dream in the military was to receive the Medal of Honor. I was dubbed a danger to myself and everybody around me. Then I was given a mandatory medical discharge with no honors so I can't even go to the VA if I need help. The one thing I'll never forget though was the lady who gave me the psych evaluation told me that "the military is not looking for heroes". Those were her words not mine...
Shit sucks especially the toxic leadership it's real and way worse then civilian life. This life is not for everyone definitely not me got 3 years and I'm gone ✌
Don't wish for the best, give yourself the best. Give 100 all the time. When everyone else shy away from volunteering be the pvt who never backs down. I promise you you will jump up the ladder. I got my first promotion in boot camp. Give it your all and I promise you. You will never be "that" guy.
as a boomer vet i thank you for telling the truth to young folks. any kid thats ever asked me what i thought about signing on uncle sam's dotted line i've told to stay the hell away from the military. good work young man!
recruiters are kind of like an ex girlfriend, they tell you everything you want to hear, every good thing, you have the best times with them and you believe it for a while. then in the end when its over and now its years later and youre just dumped back out all washed up. thats the part that scares me the most. for people who are passionate, JOIN you will become a commander or officer and that is definitely worth it imo. if you aren't id avoid it. you end up like 98% of people and still struggle without those comforting words you were told ages ago. but hey this comes from a guy who just personally wont join the choice is always yours and this is just an opinion (:
PROBLEMS WITH THE US MILITARY There is a lot of talk these days about the difficulties the military is having in retaining and recruiting personnel. After some thought, I see two categories of issues that could cause the military’s problems. FIRST ….. The perception is that the US wants a war with Russia. SECOND ….. Conditions in the military itself. The US government seems to be trying to instigate a full-blown war with Russia. ….. It’s been well documented that the US has been trying to cause a conflict since the 1980s. We even signed, and broke an agreement that would have avoided conflict. ….. Most folks believe it was the US that destroyed the Nord Stream Pipeline (that’s an act of war against Russia and Germany). ….. The US has twice stopped a negotiated settlement in Ukraine. ….. The US actions in Ukraine caused Russia to get closer to China. This will make any future conflict with China much more difficult for the US. ….. Our Commander in Chief has mental issues. ….. The US now has boots on the ground in Ukraine. ….. Military personnel know the civilian population doesn’t know, or care, anything about the military. There is a severe disconnect between the military and civilian population. …………………………………………………… All of these things send a clear signal a US-instigated war is more likely now than at any time since WW 2. ……………………………………………………. The next category of issues responsible for the recruiting and retention problems is the military itself. BENGHAZI We all watched President Obama abandon our military. But, added to that, we did not see any senior military leaders speak out. This was a clear indication that military leaders were more concerned with their jobs and perks than the welfare of the troops under their command. AFGHANISTAN We all watched the mismanaged withdrawal. We learned 2 lessons. First, the military leadership was incompetent. Second, No military leaders spoke out about this failure. This was a clear indication that military leaders were more concerned with their jobs and perks than the welfare of the troops under their command. Additionally, this was just the latest military failure. The US has not won a war since 1946. Additionally, Congress has not declared war since WW 2. Our leaders no longer follow the Constitution. THE COMMANDER IN CHIEF The leader of the US military has mental issues. We are not allowed to say so. But, we all know it. Importantly, not one senior military leader has spoken up about this. THE DISCONNECT WITH THE AMERICAN PEOPLE Most Americans don’t know anyone in the military. Additionally, over 70% of America’s young people are not qualified to be in the military. The volunteer military has created a disconnect that encourages politicians to play at being generals and sending our military into harm's way on their warmonger whims (remember the US has not won a war since 1946). THE MILITARY HAS GONE WOLK The Military leadership has adopted an anti-Trump / pro-socialist stance. They have embraced gender dysphoria. And, they have lowered standards to allow women to reduce combat effectiveness. Most of us have seen the recruiting video featuring a girl who has two mommies. All in all ……. The current difficulties with retention and recruitment seem a logical result of the above conditions.
If only this video was made and I watched it before I joined back in 2005. It definitely would have saved me a lot of trouble 18 years of service later. Great video!
I don’t mean to be rude, but what part specifically gave you ptsd and depression. As in, where were you that was traumatizing so much that you literally could never forget about it for the rest of your life.
@@chuckiejoseph4979 I was in a platoon that was later court martialed for their abuse. I and many others were victims of this abuse. The MOS was a lot different than others too, more so elite grunt than anything. This happened a long time ago, I mean if you're new to the army now, this was like before you were born. The army different now.
I agree with what you said . I was in active duty for 3 yrs . It was like this and I’m trying to get back in. But my mental health has suffered from being in the military .
Isn't one thing you should know before joining any military the fact that you're most likely going to have to end someone's life? Besides the fact that you might die of course. Whether it's you commanding someone to fight with a high chance of death or killing enemy troops, I don't think I can ever bring myself to do such a thing...
Lmao you idiots don't think there will be another war? I'm fuckimg rolling out of my chair. Id give anything to be 10 years younger and fight the gwot. Literally just fighting to test shit, improve logistics, tactics, etc. I'm not sure if I can go to fight ww3 in China or Europe all for the deep state and watch as millions die around me. It will be worse than ww2. The gwot was 7,000 deaths. I don't mean to sound like a terrible person but those are great fucking numbers for a 20 year long war in multiple counties.
I read Samuel chapter 5 that lead me on a journey of support of what you say from one nobody to another. The guilt that comes on a nation when they go to war is undeniable to us when we look at it with perspective.
My sister was 20 years old and a LCpl in 1994. She was stationed in Okinawa at the time. She got mixed up with the wrong crowd. My sister came home in a box. Over something ridiculous and stupid. It’ll be 30 years next month. My family was changed forever. My little bro took his own life in 2016. I think about my big sister every single day and what my life would be like now had she not made that STUPID decision.
As a 8yr USMC vet here’s my opinion: Don’t join. It’s some bullshit. All branches bullshit. But some are better than others. If you do join then please follow this advice or you will hate life more tha. You already do. Not matter what branch you join. If you don’t plan on doing 20 years active duty. Just do 4 active and get out. You get the same benefits across the board until you hit 20 years for a retirement. Do not go into a combat MOS unless you want to be a high speed operator. You don’t even need a to be an infantryman to be federal law enforcement just military experience and college. If you do wanna be a combat guy join the army go be a ranger. Or go be a Navy seal. Try to get In The special operations community. They don’t deal with the BS that normal operating forces deal with. They get treat way better. Get the best gear etc… Being a regular infantrymen in the USMC or USArmy you might as well be a slave. Also the Marines have the lowest quality of life of all the Branches. Lowest budget as well. Unless your Recon or MARSOC. The coast guard is an excellent option if you want to do federal law enforcement work because they actually are part of Homeland security not DoD like the other branches. They actually have jurisdiction over all waters 50 miles from US shores. They do drug raids arrest work side by side with all 3 letter agencies. It’s a direct pipe line. For anyone else get the highest ASVAB score possible. Join the Space Force or the Airforce. Get an MOS in the Intelligence, linguistics, or Cybersecurity fields. These jobs specifically come with high bonuses. Get you a high level government clearance TS/SCI Poly that cost over $100k. That last over 5-7 years. Get out. Use GI bill. Get your VA disability. Because something bad will happen to you. Every branch has those high level jobs and they all go to the same schools BUT the space force and USAF have the highest quality of life and is least stressful and dangerous. An AF guy ain’t gonna be in a firefight with enemies. USAF is the biggest community college in the nation. They give out more credits and certifications that transfer to the civilian world than the other branches. By comparison NOTHING you do in the Marine Corps will be directly tangible and translate into the civilian life. All those certs they give you are useless. There was a federal hearing where congress Grilled the SgtMaj of the Marine Corps about this. He looked stupid and couldn’t provide any answer. The Marine Corps only cares about 1 thing. That’s fighting wars. Nothing else. They will not build you up to make you a more productive member of society. If you can’t get those fields because they are super competitive. Get in the aviation maintenance jobs. Go work for an airline. If you don’t want to go active. Do the same thing just in the reserves. Go to college or use your clearance to be a contractor making 100k overseas while In the reserves. What ever you do. DO NOT GET MARRIED! While serving. Don’t marry another serviceman while you are in. And go to medical for any and everything that hurts you. Get it in your records. If you join the US army or the Marines after reading this because you love America. Wanna fight some dumb war. Or something like that. You have been warned. It’s nothing like the commercials or movies. 90% of the time you will be doing stupid training, getting hazed or cleaning. Or just stand waiting in a line for hrs. Then there’s the possibility that when you do go down range you and or all of your buddies will get deleted.
Mr.Battley is Absolutely telling the Truth. I have family members who have served. Don't put yourself through that brutal torture an nonsense. These conflicts are senseless an stupid. Imagine I start a fight with a neighborhood gang. An know I want you to go an fight my battles for me. See how stupid this is.
The military sucks. I just love it when I hear from the guys that were in the service that got out as fast as they could and then years later you tell everybody how much they love it. But if it was so great why the hell did you get out
I think maybe this video should be titled why not to join the Army. I was in the Air Force. My experience was awesome and would not go back and change it. I know people say we are the chair force but honestly I am proud of that fact.
