The number one injury to auto mechanics is when you leave the hitch receiver in place so when the vehicle hoisted up and the mechanic walks to the back around the corner, many of them hit their heads bad.
That will help. But I have seen the receiver get so rusted and paint bubble up that it was difficult to get the hitch in it. So it doesn't hurt to lube the receiver either way.
