There's a huge difference between warning about possible triggers so those who aren't in a good mental place to handle it can avoid or prepare themselves, and people who seem to think the mere existence or acknowledgement of abusive or triggering behavior or other 'harmful' discussion which translates to conversations that bother THEM so they want them not to exist. They treat discussion of uncomfortable things the same as SUPPORTING the behavior of those abusers which frankly baffles me. Behavior/crimes like these lose a LOT of their power when they're exposed to the light of scrutiny, accusations, and evidence. I'm sure they mean well but avoiding being exposed to the uncomfortable not only helps others who feel alone in their abuse, but helps those same uncomfortable people to recognize and have the strength if they, gods forbid ever experience it for themselves. Ok righteous soapbox mode disengaged... New topic I'm FASCINATED by the seeming implication that Heaven and Hell are kind of mirrors of each other. Like Charlie and Em with protective figures trying to protect them the hard truths that end up hurting them in the process... Adam and his blood-thirsty exorcists are no better than the sinners who kill, eat, and violate for entertainment, they just do it out of sight to avoid being judged while the hellborn and sinners are more accepting that this is just how things are. Also I think I said this in your Ep #8 video but it's fascinating that Alastor's backing down and running when he was faced with the final choice that i think he was honestly at least considering doing by risking sacrificing his life for the cause... And if he had he very well might have made it to the other side. Being vague to avoid too many EP #8 spoilers of the rest of what happens in that one! But what are you all worried about spoilers for, don't wait! Leave a brief comment saying how awesome the channel is and come back and go through the comments after you've binged them all! I would love for more platonic friend groups to be shown, but romance and sex set up more conflict and will-they-won't-they tension that is catnip for tv writers. At least we've got a good chance that Alistor won't be shoehorned into that sort of thing. At least I hope the writing for this ship is good. I think they have to win half the fandom over.

Holy shit that's an observation I usually pick up but I guess my brain didn't feel like picking up on a detail like that due to me watching with a few friends who talk about stuff during the episode(s)

Because compared to her, HE'S the low life demon that could die tomorrow and she wouldn't even notice the difference in Hell. From her position, Val is the pauper, the serf, the peasant who is miniscule compared to her, both in power and status. So he over compensates by talking at her level, making eye contact, bowing to her, and staying in his place by showing restraint. She could fuck him up with a single snap if she wanted, but chooses not to because she tries to be better than these people, better than the sin that consumes them. So while he knows to stay in his place around her and is VERY aware of the power difference, he's still aware enough to use Angel against her since she cares for Angel. Even though he doesn't compare in power or respect to Lucifer, Charlie, the Sins, or even some of the older overlords, he still tries to act more in control and powerful when in the presence of the souls he's collected or believes he may collect. He physically reminds them of his ownership of them, flaunting the large power difference between himself and them, using brutal force, fear, and manipulation to keep them in their place under him, and does horrific things to the people he owns just to feel more powerful and be perceived as more powerful than he honestly truly is. It's that fear that causes Angel to stop Charlie from stepping in (someone who could have in reality fucked Val and his entire "kingdom" up and burned it to ash). Val knows how insignificant he is when compared to Charlie and her family, but he also knows how to play the game well enough as to not get himself ripped away from power and ruined by the more powerful demons and entities than himself ❤

Val leaning down kind of has a double meaning, where he's leaning down as a show of (begrudging) respect but also bending down and acting like how you would treat a child

Angel made that his whole 'persona', it acts as both a coping & defense mechanism, & protects him from others' expectations. It also allows him to keep _something_ of himself for just him, or those he trusts the most (like Cherri Bomb in the Addict video). The ones that take take take until there's nothing left (the majority of Hell's economy) can't take something from him that they don't realize he has. I too love this amazing sweary sex show, it's got a lot of heart.

IIRC Angel Dust/Anthony is actually about 30, but that's a minor quibble. You nailed all the rest of this analysis. Hypersexuality is a very common response to SA trauma, because the victim feels that their value is tied to it, and overdoes it as a way of trying to take back control. That's Angel's mask, and Husker, bless his grumpy self, sees right through it. And by the end of the song, you can see the shift; Angel is still owning his sexuality, but now it's not a mask anymore. It's just another part of who he really is. "Sex ain't the only think I'm good at." And yes, I absolutely ship HuskerDust. Can't wait to see how this evolves.

@@mmattie7526actually, Vivienne has referred to them as an actual intended slow burn pairing, so unless she’s purposefully misleading people or something changes between now and later seasons, they do appear to be planned to be canon.

I feel this soooo much... I wasn't a dancer but I've had them as extremely close friends and roommates, and I've dealt with the abuse and pressure for, let's just say, explicit content creation... having the abuse mixed with that kind of vulnerability is such a mind-fuck... :( It's such an awful combination and I'm glad you escaped it. I still am amazed I got out of mine with a LOT of luck and some great friends... Ironically one of which was a bartender. :P So... Yeah... the people who wrote Angel either knew people who lived this or lived something like this themselves because they are SPOT ON with them... :( Definitely the hardest character to watch /because/ it rings so true.

I'd love either... I agree that at this point in their life Angel has had nothing but so many toxic examples of relationships that a friend probably is the best option till they have a chance to get themselves to a stable place. That said, a good stable relationship with someone who calls them out on their shit but only because they want to prove to them that they accept them as they are, and with the patience to stay, and keep staying, without taking the shit that Angel will put them though because of their fear and insecurity personally... A stable strong partner CAN make all the difference... but they're more rare than a classy porn director that respects boundaries LOL

Angel has Cherry, charlie, vaggie, nifty and etc as friends what he needs is someone whose not interested in him as the porn star (a fetish or kink), but him as the person he is (actual love) So i’m all or them getting together if that’s how it goes, now that they are honest and open to each other as themselves.

Angel died in his 30's but then continued existing in hell for that thirty years till husk died too. Angels actually older than Husk by like ten years. Idk if you should worry about the age gap, they usually only matter if the characters are in drastically different places in maturity or places of financial stability.

Interesting thought. My guess for how Vel would react to Angel would be... to ignore him as beneath her. Vox sees Angel as 'Val's toy', & I think Vel probably looks at him similarly, if at all. She comes across as incredibly self-centered, arrogant & dismissive. That doesn't mean I think she's unintelligent, of course. She is definitely very observant, & played Carmilla Carmine like a fiddle at the overlord meeting. The only way I see it going differently is if she thinks she could manipulate or get something out of Angel that she wants, like intel about the hotel (since they're so concerned about Alastor & Charlie making a deal).

We don’t really know what Vox was doing cause we know he can travel through the security cameras as seen in episode 2 so Vox might have just had to go somewhere after meeting with Val

I think the age differences are interesting, & of course they bring different things to the characters, but I also think at some point, _everyone_ in hell feels like they're old, as they continue to exist & have experiences after death. Angel has been in hell since the...1930's or 40's? Husk was much older when he died, but that wasn't until the 1970's. So Angel had 30-40+ years in Hell before Husk even got there. Plus the appearances & behavior often don't line up with their living/dying ages at all. I saw someone mention that Nifty was even older than Angel when she died (1950's), where I would've guessed she was late teens/early 20's based on her appearance & behavior. But yeah, Huskerdust is a confirmed pairing later in the series according to Viv, but I think it's going to be a while before that even starts to happen.

I disagree, Husker is slightly older than angel but not by much canonically, he jsut has a deep voice. and he’s less a mentor then he is a fellow enslaved soul in the gutter looking to crawl out and the reason he would be more open to romanic sides with Angel is cause Angel is no longer hiding behind a mask, cause Husker doesn't want somehting that is fake or to just be an escape fro Angel.
